Gerald Wallace admitted that he's in both a physical and mental slump right now.

"It is what it is," Wallace said. "I just have to keep playing. I try not to affect me as far as playing. I can’t complain. The games keep coming." Wallace is averaging just 7.2 points on under 40 percent shooting since sustaining his rib injury, and he needs to get back to slashing rather than setting for outside jumpers. He has failed to score double-digits in every game since February 11 and hasn't scored more than 14 points in any game since 2013 began.

Noah Vonleh (thigh) still doesn't have a clear timetable to return.

He was given an original timetable of about 3-4 weeks on Aug. 31, so this is worrying. "I guess you could say I'm a little behind," Vonleh said. "But I'll catch up quick." He had a bone fragment removed from his right thigh, so the Blazers won't be in a hurry to rush him back. For now, he's been limited to light running and shooting. He's the fourth PF on the depth chart, so fantasy owners can ignore him.

Josh McRoberts was limited at the opening day of camp due to a foot injury.

The guy just can't seem to stay healthy. The Heat have a huge hole at power forward due to the uncertainty around Chris Bosh, but McRoberts isn't off to a great start. For now, Derrick Williams, James Johnson, Udonis Haslem and Luke Babbitt will compete for minutes at the four, while Justise Winslow should spend some time there as well.

Patrick Beverley is expected to start next to James Harden this season according to coach Mike D'Antoni.

There was some concern that Beverley might move to the bench with James Harden running the offense, but Mike D'Antoni wants his defense and 3-point shooting in the first unit. The Rockets will basically use a three-guard rotation that includes Eric Gordon, but Beverley is just a late-round target for owners in need of steals and treys. He missed some workouts earlier in the week with a cut on his foot, but he has since been cleared to return to full practice.

Stephen Curry made it clear that he intends to re-sign with the Warriors next summer.

"I want to be back here. I like playing here, and that's it," Curry said. He's hoping that his contract situation won't be an issue or a distraction, and he said that he will have the same answer throughout the year. Curry will earn over $12 million this season in the final year of his deal, but he will get a max contract if he wants it during the summer of 2017.

According to Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post, multiple teams have called the Nuggets about Will Barton.

It's not clear if the Nuggets have made him available, but the report adds that teams have been offering them first-round picks. He has two years left on his deal for a total of around $7 million, so his contract is an absolute bargain. Barton will have trouble matching his minutes from last season with Jamal Murray in the mix and Wilson Chandler (hip) returning from injury, so we won't recommend drafting him until his situation improves. Gary Harris is the SG for fantasy owners to target in Denver.

Joel Embiid (foot) said he felt "great" during the first day of training camp.

Embiid was battling a flu virus on Monday night and wasn't expected to practice on Tuesday, but he showed up and gave it a go anyways. "I'm feeling great," Embiid said. "I'm a little disappointed that I missed the beginning, that I didn't get a chance to play. But I went up and back a couple of times and it felt great." Embiid put in about 25 minutes of work and participated in a "controlled" scrimmage, so this was a huge step forward for the intriguing big man. After two years of sitting on the sidelines, things are finally starting to look up for Embiid and his upside makes him worth the gamble late in drafts.

Danny Green is dealing with a left quad contusion.

He suffered the injury during a workout last week and sat out of the first day of training camp (Tuesday). The injury doesn't sound serious, but Green is expected to miss a few days of action. For what it's worth, he was able to put up some 3-pointers at practice, so the Spurs are likely just being cautious. Green had Lasik eye surgery over the offseason and is hoping to bounce back after a rough 2015-16 season. He's a nice target at his discounted price in the later rounds.

Kings coach Dave Joerger said Darren Collison's situation as far as league discipline is still up in the air.

Collison pleaded guilty in early September to one count of misdemeanor domestic violence, so it's basically a lock that the NBA will issue a suspension. With less than a month to go until opening night, fantasy owners should tread carefully with Collison in fantasy drafts until we get more clarity. Joerger said he's counting on Ty Lawson for a big year, so he could open the season as the starting PG with Garrett Temple backing him up.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson said that his shooting is getting "a lot better."

"The more work you build in, the more muscle memory kicks in," RHJ Said. He's been spending "30 to 40 minutes a day" on his shot after hitting 26-of-68 (38.2 percent) of his jumpers last season. He's still a bit raw on the offensive end, but his defensive stats are intriguing -- he had per-36 minute averages of 9.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 0.9 blocks. He's expected to start and log heavy minutes on the wings, making him an interesting sleeper in fantasy drafts. It also helps that he is one of the few building blocks that the Nets have.

Blazers coach Terry Stotts said that Evan Turner will share backup point guard duties with CJ McCollum.

It's the right decision for Portland because Shabazz Napier has really struggled at the NBA level. Turner is considered the favorite to start at SF, but will face a lot of competition from Allen Crabbe and Moe Harkless. Turner averaged 10.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.1 turnovers on 45.6 percent shooting with the Celtics last season, but his ceiling in standard leagues is limited because he doesn't take many 3-pointers.

Kemba Walker (knee surgery) was limited to the non-contact portions of Tuesday's practice.

"Kemba and Cody [Zeller] aren’t at a stage yet where they can do anything with contact. Dummy offense and shooting drills," coach Steve Clifford said following Tuesday’s first practice of training camp. Walker was initially expected to resume basketball activities in early July, so the fact that he's still being limited nearly five months removed from the knee procedure is slightly concerning. Until he's fully cleared to play, there will be some added risk in investing an early-round selection on Walker.
