Updating an earlier item, James Harden (foot) will play on Friday against the Wolves.

Harden is not 100 percent, but there is no way he should be on owners' benches tonight.

The Nets and Brook Lopez are finalizing a deal worth a reported $60 million over three years.

Brooklyn prioritized BroLo in free agency, particularly after trading away Mason Plumlee on draft night, and they quickly locked him up just hours into free agency. Lopez played 72 games last season, quelling concerns about his surgically-reconstructed foot, and he's a solid top-40 fantasy player when healthy. The deal reportedly gives Lopez a third-year player option, and it also includes "some protections for the Nets should a recurrence of Lopez's past foot issues sideline him again."

The Brooklyn Nets will re-sign Thaddeus Young to a four-year, $50 million deal on Wednesday.

No surprises here. The Nets made it clear that re-signing Young was a priority this summer, and they didn't waste any time getting a deal done. The Nets recently traded Mason Plumlee to the Blazers, so Young should be locked in as the starting power forward next season. Young will be a solid mid-round pick in fantasy drafts this season.

Free agent Monta Ellis "is gathering traction" in talks with the Pacers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Pacers are dedicated to playing at a faster pace next season and Ellis would be a shot of adrenaline offensively, so this is an interesting match. He reportedly prefers East Coast teams and has been linked to the Hawks and Heat, but the Nuggets and Kings have also expressed interest.
Jul 1 - 1:32 AM

Jimmy Butler is "considering accepting" the Bulls' max five-year contract offer, according to RealGM's Shams Charania.

The contract would reportedly include a player option for the 2019-20 season and Butler "plans to sleep on [the] decision." This undermines previous reports stating that Butler preferred a one-year deal with the Lakers, and the maximum salary offered may be enough to keep Jimmy in Chicago long-term. He could make his decision as soon as Wednesday.

The Brooklyn Nets are nearing an agreement to re-sign Brook Lopez and Thaddeus Young.

There doesn't appear to be any drama in Brooklyn right now, and it sounds like the Nets could have a deal in place for both players very soon. Lopez is reportedly looking for a three-year, $60 million deal, while Young is targeting a four-year, $50 million deal. Stay tuned.
Jul 1 - 12:48 AM

Al-Farouq Aminu has agreed to a four-year, $30 million deal with the Trail Blazers.

Aminu was reportedly a target of the Celtics, Raptors, Pelicans, Knicks and Mavericks, but Portland ponied up a lot of cash to bring him to Rip City. The Blazers recently traded Nicolas Batum and could lose Wesley Matthews and Arron Afflalo in free agency, so Aminu will almost certainly be starting at small forward on opening night. Aminu averaged 11.2 points, 7.2 boards, 1.2 assists, 1.6 blocks, 2.0 steals and 1.4 3-pointers in 30.0 minutes per game during the playoffs last season, so we know what he can do with an expanded role. Aminu is shaping up to be a steal in the later rounds of fantasy drafts next season.

Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs have agreed on the framework of a five-year contract worth more than $90 million.

Even this maximum-salary contract is a relative bargain for the Spurs, who locked up the reigning Defensive Player of the Year for roughly $18 million per season as he heads into his prime. Details haven't been disclosed but the deal is expected to include an early termination option for the 2019-20 season. With Leonard secured for the foreseeable future the Spurs can turn their full attention to coveted FA LaMarcus Aldridge -- yes, Kawhi will be at the meeting to lure him to San Antonio.
Jul 1 - 12:07 AM

Anthony Davis and the Pelicans have verbally agreed upon a five-year, $145 million deal.

Well, that was quick. Davis will have a player option for the fifth year but Pelicans fans can breathe easy with this news. Davis is quickly establishing himself as one of the best players in the NBA and it will be exciting to see what he can do with Alvin Gentry at the helm. For obvious reasons, Davis is still the frontrunner to be the No. 1 pick in fantasy leagues.

Unrestricted free agent Kevin Love is expected to meet with the Lakers this week.

The Suns have also expressed interest and the Celtics are hoping to meet with Love, but most teams are hedging their bets since he's widely expected to return to Cleveland. FOX Sports' Sam Amico reported this week that Love has told the Cavs he'll re-sign, and the team reportedly plans to offer him a five-year deal worth more than $110 million. We're not reading much into his meeting with the Lakers, in other words, but anything is possible.

The 2015-16 salary cap may be as much as $2 million higher than originally projected, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

The NBA had robust revenue this season and the cap is expected to be at least $68.1 million, or possibly higher. The official figure will be determined on July 8 and a higher salary cap would be welcome news for teams attempting to clear space for free agents in the coming weeks.
Jun 30 - 11:09 PM

Tyson Chandler will draw "significant interest" from the Bucks as an unrestricted free agent.

If the Mavs are able to pry away DeAndre Jordan from the Clippers, that will likely signify the end of Chandler's time in Dallas. Jason Kidd won a championship playing alongside Chandler with the Mavs back in 2011, and he reportedly loves him, so Milwaukee could emerge as a legitimate landing spot for Chandler.
