Kevin Garnett (strained adductor) didn't practice on Sunday and he's considered "50-50" to play vs. the Heat on Monday.

The '50-50' quote came from Doc Rivers, though fortunately he described KG's injury as a "one" on a scale of 1-to-10. This is a very encouraging update, all things considered, but it doesn't do much to help owners set lineups in weekly leagues -- check back for the latest news after Monday's shootaround.

Marcus Smart (ankle) is hoping to return to practice on Wednesday.

"He’s been doing his work in the weight room as far as conditioning goes," Brad Stevens said. "So we’ll see how much work he needs to do once he gets back on the floor. That’s a concern certainly." Even if Smart isn't able to return this week, it sounds like he's right around the corner.

Dwight Howard is a "potential go" vs. the Knicks on Monday, sources tell Yahoo! Sports.

This doesn't really help Howard's owners gain clarity on his status, but it's better than him being ruled out already. We'll get at least one more update on Howard's status against the Knicks, and likely more than that. If Howard can't go, Tarik Black will draw the start, but Donatas Motiejunas and Kostas Papanikolaou will be the main beneficiaries.

Leandro Barbosa (hyperextended knee) wrote after Sunday's game that he "had no serious injury, just a bit of pain."

He attempted to continue playing after the hyperextension but the Warriors' training staff wisely pulled him from the game to prevent further injury. It doesn't sound like he'll miss any time, but as a precaution we'll list him as questionable for Tuesday's game.
Nov 24 - 1:25 AM

Kenneth Faried was victimized by Brian Shaw's rotations on Sunday, scoring eight points with just one rebound and one steal in 19 minutes during Denver's road win in L.A.

Faried sat out until the bitter end of the fourth quarter and the entirety of overtime. He signed a four-year, $50 million extension during the offseason, but coach Brian Shaw may not have received the memo. Darrell Arthur (nine points in 19 minutes) played just as much as Faried, and J.J. Hickson (six points in 12 minutes) wasn't far behind. Faried started slow last year before picking it up after the All-Star break, and owners should do their utmost not to trade him for pennies on the dollar.
Nov 24 - 12:45 AM

Ty Lawson set a new season high with 16 assists in Sunday's overtime win vs. the Lakers, adding 18 points on 5-of-10 FGs and 7-of-10 FTs.

This was a foreseeable performance since the Lakers are giving up the most points (112.5) of any team in the league, as well as the third-most assists (25.4). Lawson turned the ball over five times and didn't have any steals, which is easy to overlook when his 18 & 16 double-double gets the headline. The best news might be that he logged 44 minutes and is showing no symptoms of the lingering ankle injury which cost him a game back in early November.
Nov 24 - 12:45 AM

Wesley Johnson came alive late in Sunday's game, finishing with seven points, a season-high 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals and three blocks in 42 minutes of action.

Johnson didn't make any 3-pointers, which is a mild disappointment, but he posterized Danilo Gallinari on a late dunk and his rebound total was more than double his previous season-high. The bad news is that Johnson hasn't cracked double-digit points or made a single 3-pointer in six games -- until he gets going offensively, he's only worth owning in deep leagues.
Nov 24 - 12:41 AM

Ed Davis started at PF on Sunday with Carlos Boozer (shoulder) out, but he fouled out in just 22 minutes with four points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.

He tweaked an ankle in the second half but that wasn't the cause of his lousy game -- he gambled too often defensively and spoiled a golden opportunity to make his claim to the starting PF job. Boozer is day-to-day and all signs point to him starting again once he's healthy, so Davis' owners will have to content themselves with top-100 value in 20-25 minutes off the bench.
Nov 24 - 12:37 AM

JaVale McGee was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game after suffering a lower left leg strain.

McGee had a decent game on Friday but he left Sunday's game with two points and four rebounds after just six minutes of action. Timofey Mozgov and J.J. Hickson should get extra playing time in his absence, and Jusef Nurkic may also return to the rotation if this injury costs McGee more time.
Nov 23 - 11:07 PM

Marreese Speights caught fire once Andrew Bogut went down with an orbital contusion on Sunday, scoring a season-high 28 points on 11-of-18 shooting in just 25 minutes of action.

Speights has been a scoring machine off Golden State's bench this year, averaging 10.2 points in just 13.3 minutes per game. He added seven rebounds and two assists tonight, without any steals or blocks, and should be a terrific fill-in fantasy option if Bogut's injury costs him any games.
Nov 23 - 10:10 PM

Anthony Morrow was OKC's best bench player on Sunday, contributing 16 points and a career-high-tying 12 rebounds in a narrow loss to the visiting Warriors.

Morrow played 33 minutes and he's worth fantasy owners' attention until Kevin Durant returns to action. He's scored double-digit points in six of the past eight games, he's a deadly 3-point shooter, and he's recorded at least one steal in six straight games. Just be ready to cut him loose if the return of Durant and Perry Jones slashes into his playing time.
Nov 23 - 10:09 PM

Andrew Bogut (orbital contusion) is questionable to play vs. the Heat on Tuesday, but a CT scan on his head was negative.

Bogut scored two points in eight minutes before leaving Sunday's game with the injury, but the good news is that he avoided any fractures or structural damage. He wrote on Twitter that he had a "bit of fluid" but should be fine. If he can't suit up on Tuesday, Marreese Speights would be a terrific fill-in start vs. Miami's lenient frontcourt.
