Lindsey Hunter got frustrated with his young guys and benched Markieff Morris and Michael Beasley during Wednesday's ugly loss to the Wizards.

Morris played 11 minutes and failed to score, while Beasley played eight minutes for four points on 1-of-5 shooting. Both players had been playing pretty well lately, so this was tough to see coming. ''I wasn't happy with (any) of our young guys,'' coach Lindsey Hunter said. ''It wasn't about mistakes they made. It was about effort. It was about fight, having a sense of urgency. This is unacceptable.'' We'll have to wait and see if this keeps the young guys in the doghouse going forward, or if this was a one-time deal. Luis Scola was a beneficiary, finishing with 11 points and five boards in 34 minutes.

Alan Williams (illness) is expecting to play on Thursday vs. the Nets.

Williams was on the active list on Tuesday vs. the Heat, but left the team right before tip-off because he was dealing with some food poisoning. If he looks good during pre-game warmups, expect him to be out there tonight. If not, Alex Len will have a heavy workload at center and Marquese Chriss will have to play some five as well. Through 10 games in March, Williams is averaging a double-double with 13.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.

Hassan Whiteside (right hand laceration) was able to go through the morning shootaround.

Coach Erik Spoelstra said that Whiteside still intends to play on Thursday vs. the Raptors, but did add that most of the stuff he did at the shootaround was left handed. With the Heat fighting for a playoff spot, the chances of Whiteside playing should be pretty good. Check back for an update after the pre-game warmups.

Paul Millsap (knee) will not play on Friday vs. the Bucks.

This will be his fourth game in a row on the shelf and it's not a good sign that he isn't traveling with the team. Atlanta's next game is on Sunday vs. the 14-56 Nets, so his owners are in a tough spot. With Millsap out, Ersan Ilyasova is worth streaming if you need a bump in points, rebounds and triples.

Rudy Gobert erupted for a career-high 35 points vs. the Knicks on Wednesday, making 13-of-14 FGs and 9-of-12 FTs with 13 rebounds, four blocks, one assist and one steal in 38 minutes.

New York started small with Kristaps Porzingis at center and they never found an answer for Gobert in the paint -- all 14 of his shots came within the restricted area. Rudy is the seventh player since 1987 to have scored 35+ points while shooting at least 90 percent, joining the company of Alonzo Mourning, Scottie Pippen, Cedric Ceballos, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller and Dwight Howard. As a reminder, he's still just 24 years old.
Mar 23 - 1:59 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 32 points in a 116-98 win at Sacramento on Wednesday, adding 13 rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block, one 3-pointer and no turnovers.

It's just the second time this month he's hit the 30-point mark, and Antetokounmpo scored at least 20 points in just two of his previous six games. The Bucks finally had their six-game road trip end and they'll be heading back home this weekend. Antetokounmpo is much better at home with a 54.0 field goal percentage with better averages in points, boards, steals, blocks and threes at home compared to being on the road. After a down couple weeks, Giannis should go back to being a top-three guy going forward.
Mar 23 - 1:24 AM

X-rays were negative on Derrick Rose's left foot, but he exited the arena after Wednesday's game with a brace and a noticeable limp.

Rose did return after the injury, finishing with 17 points and six assists in 32 minutes, but we're considering him questionable to face the Blazers on Thursday. Rose said that his foot was injured, not his ankle, and his oft-injured knees don't seem to have been affected. If he is forced to miss any time, Ron Baker and Chasson Randle would absorb the PG duties.

Russell Westbrook turned in his 35th triple-double of the season during a 122-97 win over the 76ers on Wednesday, scoring 18 points with 11 rebounds, 14 assists, two blocks and five turnovers.

Westbrook was 6-of-6 from the field and 6-of-6 from the line to make him the first player in NBA history to drop a triple-double on perfect shooting. Westbrook only had a 19.5 usage rate in this game, which is less than half his season average and is also a season low by a mile. In fact, this was only the second time this season he had a usage rate under 30 in a game. He gets a triple-double date with James Harden on Sunday afternoon.
Mar 23 - 12:21 AM

Kyrie Irving scored 33 points in 27 minutes vs. Denver, making 11-of-22 FGs and 7-of-7 FTs, but it wasn't enough to avoid a 126-113 defeat.

Kyrie went 4-of-5 from downtown with three assists, two rebounds and zero turnovers tonight. LeBron James was also efficient with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting, but offense wasn't the problem -- Cleveland put up no defensive resistance and the Nuggets finished 53.1 percent from the field. They'll try to right the ship in Charlotte on Friday.
Mar 22 - 11:59 PM

J.R. Smith was back in the Cavs' starting five on Wednesday, finishing 1-of-7 from the field with one 3-pointer to score three points.

Smith added three assists, two rebounds and two steals in 21 minutes, but that doesn't compensate for another lousy night shooting the ball. He's a combined 6-of-31 in his past three games, and almost has to be benched in fantasy until he warms up.
Mar 22 - 11:55 PM

Tim Hardaway Jr. got loose on Wednesday, hitting 9-of-16 FGs for a game-high 29 points, three assists, two rebounds, two blocks and one steal.

THJ made three 3-pointers while going 8-of-9 from the FT line, and he didn't commit a turnover in 36 minutes. He was quiet on Monday with 11 points on 11 shot attempts, but it was just a matter of time before he got hot, especially with extra minutes in the absence of Kent Bazemore (knee).
Mar 22 - 11:34 PM

Paul George scored 37 points in a 109-100 loss to the Celtics on Wednesday, adding five rebounds, two assists, three steals, one block and five 3-pointers.

After a down February with only 17.8 points per game, George is on a roll in March. Even before this explosion, he was averaging 25.7 points, 7.7 boards, 3.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.0 treys in his previous 10 outings. George gets another friendly matchup against Denver on Friday, so he may be flirting with 40 for that game, as well.
