Trevor Ariza (flu) did not participate in shootaround and his status is unknown for Monday's game against the Grizzlies.

Ariza was a last-second scratch against the Warriors on Saturday after he torched the Lakers on Friday for 25 points and seven three-pointers, so the flu bug must be biting him pretty hard. If he is forced out again, Martell Webster would see heavy time at small forward with Garrett Temple picking up minutes at shooting guard while Cartier Martin would contribute more off the bench.

Isaiah Thomas (hip) is reportedly targeting a return during the first week of January.

The Cavs open the month at home vs. the Blazers on Jan. 2, followed by a road game in Boston -- it's possible IT is angling for a revenge game. If he does return vs. Portland he'd miss just five more games in December, so he obviously shouldn't be on the waiver wire anywhere. The Cavs should be cautious with his minutes initially, and he might have restrictions in back-to-back sets, but he has early-round upside and we're not even halfway through the season.
Dec 17 - 8:30 PM

Derrick Favors (eye) is questionable to play vs. the Rockets on Monday.

Favors is recovering from a left eye laceration but he's listed as day-to-day, so hopefully we'll get good news after Utah's shootaround. Rudy Gobert (knee) is already out, so if Favors can't suit up the Jazz will lean heavily on Ekpe Udoh and a lot of small-ball lineups.
Dec 17 - 7:28 PM

Reggie Bullock finished Sunday's home victory with a career-high 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting, hitting four 3-pointers with five rebounds, one steal and zero turnovers in 31 minutes.

Bullock has overtaken Stanley Johnson for the starting SF job, and coach Stan Van Gundy recently explained his reasoning. "He’s the most conscientious guy of doing all the things we want to do -- run, move without the ball, move the basketball, be in the right spots defensively and pressure the ball." Bullock has been scoring with efficiency, hitting 3-pointers and racking up steals, so feel free to grab him if you're in need of a swingman.
Dec 17 - 7:19 PM

Nikola Vucevic racked up 24 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and one steal in 36 minutes vs. Detroit on Sunday.

The result was another loss for Orlando, but Vuc's owners aren't complaining. He made 10-of-20 shots tonight, including four 3-pointers, and he's quietly established top-10 value in 9-cat leagues this season. He's averaging career-highs in 3-pointers (1.5), blocks (1.2) and steals (1.1), he's among the league-leaders in double-doubles, and he's yet to miss a game this season. The dream season continues unabated.
Dec 17 - 7:11 PM

Mario Hezonja scored a career-high 28 points in 31 minutes on Sunday, making 10-of-18 shots with eight 3-pointers, six rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Hezonja has made a compelling case for playing time during Aaron Gordon's (strained right calf) absence -- over the past four games, he's averaged 14.0 points, 2.5 triples, 5.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks. Feel free to add him if there's someone you're itching to cut, but it's hard to envision Hezonja holding 12-team value once Gordon, Evan Fournier (ankle) and Arron Afflalo (back spasms) are all healthy.
Dec 17 - 7:10 PM

Jonas Valanciunas posted a 13-point, 16-board double-double during Sunday's win over the Kings, adding two assists, three blocks and one turnover in 27 minutes.

Valanciunas was able to earn minutes in the high-20s going up against Sacramento's more traditional frontcourt, and with Serge Ibaka (knee) unavailable, but consistent minutes is not a trend we'd expect to develop for any of the bigs playing under Dwane Casey in Toronto. JV is a talented player, but as long as he's playing for Casey in the Raptors' iso-heavy attack, he won't be much more than a late-round guy.
Dec 17 - 6:43 PM

Bogdan Bogdanovic seemingly couldn't miss on Sunday, going 7-of-10 from the field on his way to 18 points, four 3-pointers, three rebounds, five assists, one steal and two turnovers in 29 minutes.

Bogdanovic's sterling shooting performance gave him a 90 EFG% on the evening, and he looked like Sacramento's best offensive option in this one. While he hasn't been consistent this year, he does offer some solid post-break potential, and is well worth monitoring in deep leagues. Unfortunately, he did leave the game late in the fourth after getting kneed in the quad, so we'll go ahead and throw him on the injury report and consider him questionable for Tuesday's game in Philadelphia.
Dec 17 - 6:20 PM

Allen Crabbe (knee) and DeMarre Carroll (rest) will return to the Nets' starting lineup on Sunday.

Carroll was simply coming off a rest day and both guys were already announced as being active, so their starting gigs aren't a surprise. Deploy them as usual.
Dec 17 - 5:59 PM

Jimmy Butler (back spasms) is listed as questionable for Monday's home game vs. the Blazers.

Butler briefly exited Saturday's game with a back injury and it lingered on Sunday. He's as tough as they come but he has had a massive workload under coach Tom Thibodeau -- his 37.3 minutes per game are second-most in the league behind Giannis Antetokounmpo. We should know more after the Wolves' shootaround, but if Butler is ruled out guys like Shabazz Muhammad and Jamal Crawford will be very busy.
Dec 17 - 5:56 PM

Otto Porter (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Cleveland.

Porter wasn't able to practice on Saturday, and didn't feel good enough to give it a go after going through his pregame routine, so for now, we'll be considering him questionable for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans. With Porter out, Kelly Oubre will have a chance to start, and there will be more minutes available for Markieff Morris and Mike Scott. Oubre makes sense in daily leagues.
Dec 17 - 5:21 PM

Updating a previous report, Zaza Pachulia (shoulder) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup with the Lakers.

Monday will mark Pachulia's fourth straight game on the sidelines, and he should be considered questionable for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies. With both Draymond Green (shoulder) and Pachulia unavailable on Monday night, Jordan Bell will have another opportunity to start and there will be more minutes available for David West.
