Paul Pierce (ankle) and Kevin Garnett (ankle) will play against the Wizards on Sunday.

Pierce practiced on Saturday and was expected to play. He suffered a minor ankle tweak on Wednesday and the Celtics decided to play it safe and rest him on Friday. He should be put in most lineups, but there's a good chance that he won't be near his season average of 34 minutes per game.

Pierre Jackson (Achilles) Is not going to play on Monday and his status for summer league is up in the air.

He was one of the most exciting players in the D-League two seasons ago, but suffered an Achilles tear at summer league last year. Jackson has already been doing some work at practice and may just be extra cautious. Hopefully, he can get ready to play for Vegas.

The Cavs are looking to make a trade to acquire Jamal Crawford.

It would be for Brendan Haywood's contract and the Cavs are also trying to get a deal going for Joe Johnson. Crawford would be a great fit with the Cavs to help give them some shooting as well as a ball-handler in their second unit. This news also solidifies the talk of J.R. Smith not coming back. Expect the Cavs to get one of the two deals done today or tomorrow.

Mario Hezonja put on a show again on Monday against the Thunder, scoring 14 points with three rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers.

He had a one-handed tomahawk down the lane for a jam in traffic followed by a stare-down, had an a one-handed alley-oop slam, and he had the fist pump working after a 3-pointer. It's still unknown if coach Scott Skiles will change his ways from counting on rookies, but Hezonja is just too much fun right now.

David West has agreed to terms with the Spurs for the veteran minimum.

He is going to leave about $11 million on the table to join the Spurs. Madness. Anyway, the Spurs have essentially swapped out Tiago Splitter and Aron Baynes for West and LaMarcus Aldridge for their frontcourt rotation. West is almost certainly going to see his 28.7 minutes per game from last season take a hit, so his fantasy value will suffer. He'll be asked to step up on the nights Tim Duncan gets a DNP-OLD. As for the reality side of things, the Spurs look really good.
Jul 6 - 4:27 PM

Marc Gasol has agreed to a five-year, $100 million-plus deal to return to the Grizzlies.

It was really just a matter of time for Gasol. Plenty of teams had interest in Gasol for obvious reasons, but those teams gave up hope when free agency started. He'll resume his role as a focal point of the offense, following his 2014-15 season with averages of 17.4 points, 7.8 boards, 3.8 dimes and 1.6 blocks. He'll be a target in the second round next year.
Jul 6 - 4:21 PM

Myles Turner blocked six shots against the Magic on Monday, adding 13 points, nine rebounds and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes.

The bad news here is he did commit eight fouls -- it takes 10 to foul out of a summer league game. That aside, Turner has been magnificent, making 6-of-11 from the field in the loss today. He has a fairly quick release and his mid-range game looks better than expected. Yes, it's summer league, but there's a lot to like here on a team with very little depth up front. He's on the fantasy radar.
Jul 6 - 2:59 PM

Manu Ginobili announced he'll be coming back for the 2015-16 season.

He announced it on Twitter and used the hashtag #TDwouldvemissedmetoomuch. Ginobili only played 18.7 minutes per game in the playoffs, so that may be where he'll be for minutes in the upcoming season. The Spurs have lost a little bit of depth with Cory Joseph and Marco Belinelli headed elsewhere, so coach Gregg Popovich may actually have slightly tighter backcourt rotations. Of course, that may change.

A trade sending Joe Johnson to the Cavaliers has become "stagnant," sources told ESPN's Chris Broussard.

The Nets were looking for another team to potentially take Anderson Varejao's contract, but they've been unsuccessful in that pursuit. For now, an Iso-Joe trade is in play but a long ways away from becoming a reality.

Jimmer Fredette is considering playing for Olimpia Milano next season, sources told Sportando.

The team made an offer to Fredette, who could very well use some time abroad to rebuild his stock stateside. It's also possible that Fredette never returns to the NBA if he goes overseas, so he's got to weigh his options carefully. Regardless, the Jimmer is not a fantasy option whether he's playing in the United States, Italy or on Mars.

A DeMarcus Cousins trade remains on the table, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Per the Bee, Cousins' issues with Coach George Karl "have not been resolved." It would be stunning to see the Kings turn around and move Cousins after being this active on the free agent market, but nothing would surprise anyone at this point when it comes to what happens with the Kings. The Lakers remain at the forefront of the line for Cousins' services.

Mark Cuban said that the Mavericks view DeAndre Jordan as the "future of the franchise."

Those are some awfully strong words from Cuban after Dallas poached Jordan away from the Clippers, but the owner is in part known for his bold statements. Jordan will have to prove capable of doing more on offense, including improvement at the free throw line, but DJ is poised for a larger role and should wind up being a monster fantasy contributor for the 2015-16 season.
