DeAndre Jordan tweaked his right knee during Friday night's game against the Hornets.

Jordan limped off the court during the third quarter but returned later in the third. Jordan said after the game the knee was sore but said he expects to be in the lineup Saturday night against the Grizzlies. We'll sideline him just to be safe, but he should be available against Memphis tonight.

Kevin Durant (foot) said that he's excited for the opportunity that Russell Westbrook has to lead the Thunder while KD recovers from foot surgery.

While Westbrook has his critics in the media, his teammate is not one of them. "He's going to do a great job," Durant said. "I'm not worried about Russ. I'm excited for the opportunity he has right now." Durant represents a risky fantasy pick due to his uncertain timetable, so we wouldn't blame risk-averse fantasy owners for letting last year's MVP fall to another owner. However, owners willing to roll the dice on the 26-year-old in the first round may very well find themselves at the top of their league standings due to Durant's enormous upside.

Bucks head coach Jason Kidd said that Jabari Parker reminds him of Grant Hill.

Besides their shared Duke background, Kidd sees a few similarities between Hill and Parker. "He's got a quick first step. What I like is he tries to make the right play to his teammates," Kidd said. "It's not always about scoring. He wants to win; he cheers his teammates on. That's kind of cool to see." Parker has had a strong preseason and should have no problem returning fantasy value as an early-middle round selection.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said that the league is considering rescheduling some marquee games in order to grow the league's audience in China.

As the NBA unveiled a multi-year partnership with China’s Ministry of Education to develop sports education in China, Silver said the league may reschedule some U.S. East Coast games in the morning so they can be seen live in China, which is seen as one of the sport’s biggest growth markets. "I think it will make sense to play some of our games in the East Coast in the morning, so that viewers in China can watch those games in primetime," Silver said.

DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) triple-doubled with turnovers in Monday's preseason loss to the Spurs, scoring 32 points on 12-of-14 shooting with 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and a whopping 10 turnovers.

Five of those turnovers were offensive fouls in a quintessential Boogie game tonight. The Spurs rested Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter (calf) was out, so they had nobody that could even remotely control him. He's going to be a thrill ride this season. His Achilles' injury is not a concern.

Gerald Henderson (hamstring) did some running and shooting on Monday and is targeting the Hornets' final exhibition game for his return.

Henderson's return is bad news for Gary Neal after his big night and in general it will tighten up the wing rotation. Henderson had a hard time holding 14-team value last year and this year he has much more competition for minutes and touches.
Oct 20 - 11:56 PM

Gary Neal came out of nowhere to put up 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in Monday's preseason game against the Hawks.

Neal has had a solid preseason but this is ridiculous. He hit 7-of-17 shots (2-of-4 from deep and 5-of-6 from the line) in his 36 minutes, and if fantasy owners in deep leagues want to bump him up their cheat sheets they can go for it. But expecting Neal to be a standard league producer when Gerald Henderson returns is still a bit optimistic.

A slimmed down O.J. Mayo scored 24 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 7-of-13 shots (including six threes) with zero rebounds, three assists and one steal in 31 minutes.

Milwaukee news can be hard to come by and even the local writers tweeting the game were surprised about how he looked. On that front, he looks like a totally different person and owners would be wise to not summarily dismiss him as a fantasy asset this year. He has had some good games mixed in with bad ones and the Milwaukee rotation is a crowded mess, but if Mayo can return to past form he should theoretically move toward starter's minutes.
Oct 20 - 11:18 PM

Mason Plumlee had a field day against the 76ers on Monday with 20 points, 17 rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and five turnovers in 30 minutes.

He shot 8-of-11 from the field and 4-of-12 from the line in an Andre Drummond-like outing. Plumlee is obviously going to benefit in a big way from the Brook Lopez (injury), so fantasy owners missing out on a big man shouldn't be shy about grabbing him near pick No. 100 for the short term and perhaps more.
Oct 20 - 11:12 PM

Kyrie Irving scored 28 points on 10-of-19 shooting (1-of-3 from deep, 7-of-8 from the line) with three rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 39 minutes in Monday's exhibition win over the Bulls.

Irving looked great while LeBron (18 points, seven boards, six assists, one steal, one block) was a bit passive and Kevin Love (nine points, 2-of-10 FGs, 13 boards) had plenty of rust. He was also getting torched by Derrick Rose on the other end, which probably contributed to his motivation to get it back on the other end. In any event, his ankle issue is a non-issue and he's ready to be drafted in the second round.
Oct 20 - 10:38 PM

Anderson Varejao (knee) started against the Bulls in Monday's exhibition, scoring 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting with eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks in just 23 minutes.

The numbers have to be taken with a preseason grain of salt but because David Blatt ran things as if tonight was a regular season game it looks like Varejao is the starting center. He's always been productive when healthy, but therein lies the problem and he's a late round selection only because of his record in that department.
Oct 20 - 10:30 PM

Anthony Davis said his sprained right wrist is "fine" and that he wanted to return to the Monday's exhibition game.

All clear, as expected. Davis wanted to return but Monty Williams held him out, and as writers said at the time he never appeared to be in pain. Owners can continue drafting him anywhere between No. 1 and 3 with visions of untold fantasy greatness.
