David Lee suffered a complete tear to his right hip flexor and will miss the rest of the season.

This loss cannot be overstated for the Warriors. Lee led the NBA in double-doubles and his interior presence shapes their halfcourt offensive sets. He will have the entire offseason to rehab, so this devastating news should have minimal impact on the 2013-14 season. Carl Landry will be picking up most of the slack and should post solid numbers against the Nuggets.

Lou Williams was unstoppable vs. the Cavs on Saturday, setting a new career-high with 36 points (9-of-19 FGs, 15-of-15 FTs) on Saturday, adding three 3-pointers, four rebounds and three steals in just 29 minutes.

He made 9-of-9 free throws in his first nine minutes alone, and this is an extreme example of the instant offense that Toronto was hoping he'd provide when they traded for him this summer. His 18-20 minute bench role isn't well-suited to sustainable fantasy value, unfortunately, and he's likely to remain an unsteady option in 12-team leagues.
Nov 22 - 10:49 PM

Kyrie Irving finished with 21 points, three rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks in a tough loss vs. the visiting Raptors on Saturday.

The Cavs shot 36.0 percent in their lowest-scoring game of the year on Friday, and they were stuck at 43.2 percent tonight, including a 3-of-16 mark from downtown. Cavs coach David Blatt said after the game that he's considering a change to the starting lineup, which would inevitably send either Shawn Marion or Anderson Varejao to the bench. Owners scouring the waiver wire for value should keep a close eye on the Cavs' rotations going forward.
Nov 22 - 10:37 PM

The Pelicans have confirmed that Eric Gordon separated his left shoulder during Saturday's game.

The type of separation will determine how long Gordon will miss, but his timetable will likely be measured in weeks or months, rather than days. Austin Rivers started the second half at SG and guys like Jimmer Fredette, Darius Miller and Russ Smith could be thrust into bigger roles for however long Gordon is sidelined. Coach Monty Williams could also shift Tyreke Evans to SG and move John Salmons or Luke Babbitt into the SF job, but the fallout is of much greater interest in deep leagues than standard 12-team formats. Stay tuned.
Nov 22 - 10:26 PM

Nene started Saturday's game but only played six minutes before being ruled out with plantar fasciitis.

Uh oh. Nene's 2012-13 season was spoiled by a never-ending bout of plantar fasciitis, so this is an ominous development just three weeks into the season. Kris Humphries is the most likely player to start at PF if Nene misses any time, while DeJuan Blair and Drew Gooden could find themselves back in the frontcourt rotation. Fantasy owners should consider Nene day-to-day for now, while bracing themselves for DNPs.
Nov 22 - 9:53 PM

Rodney Stuckey sprained his left wrist after tripping over a photographer on Saturday, and he will not return.

Stuckey is already struggling with his conditioning after missing time due to a foot injury, and we can only hope that this injury doesn't cost him any more time. X-rays were negative and we're considering him questionable for Monday's road game in Dallas -- with C.J. Watson (foot) and George Hill (ankle) already ruled out, Donald Sloan may need to once again log 40+ minutes if Stuckey doesn't suit up.
Nov 22 - 9:08 PM

Marco Belinelli (groin) will make a surprise start for the Spurs on Saturday, sending Danny Green to the bench.

Belinelli wasn't even certain to play and this start comes out of nowhere, especially since Green has been playing very well lately and San Antonio doesn't have a healthy backup PG. This will likely be a one-game move from Gregg Popovich, so don't overreact to the unusual lineup.
Nov 22 - 8:41 PM

Otto Porter will not play on Saturday night due to a left hamstring tightness.

He actually had some major hamstring issues in 2013 summer league, but that was to his right hamstring. Paul Pierce will play a little more while the Wizards could also use Bradley Beal at small forward off the bench as well.
Nov 22 - 8:40 PM

Bradley Beal is coming off the bench again on Saturday against the Bucks.

Coach Randy Wittman does not want to throw Beal out there in the starting lineup, but he should still get plenty of minutes. Perhaps he didn't want to tweak his rotation in a back-to-back because it worked for him. Regardless, start Beal in all leagues.
Nov 22 - 8:15 PM

Anthony Bennett will start for the Wolves on Saturday, sending Shabazz Muhammad to the bench.

Bennett scored 20 points with three rebounds in 32 minutes of action on Friday and coach Flip Saunders rewarded him with this start, though it's unlikely to last long with Thaddeus Young (personal) targeting a return on Wednesday. Fantasy owners should feel confident deploying Bennett for Saturday's matchup vs. the Kings.
Nov 22 - 7:58 PM

Omer Asik (back) will not play against the Jazz on Saturday.

He had an aggravation in Friday warmups and didn't have much of a chance to play tonight. With Asik out, Alexis Ajinca will get some extra playing time, but he's not a great fantasy option. Asik could miss more time and he's not a must-own player.
Nov 22 - 7:36 PM

Marco Belinelli (groin) will play against the Nets on Saturday.

He said he didn't have an aggravation on Friday and just stayed on the exercise bike to stay warm. Belinelli is unlikely to get more than minutes in the teens tonight, so he's not worth starting in most leagues.
