Jeremy Lin (chest) will increase his workouts Thursday and hopes to add contact, according to coach Kevin McHale.

Lin says he was held out of Games 4 and 5 by the team but it should be noted he exited Game 3 of his own volition. McHale said the Rockets will wait to see how Lin's body responds to the increased workouts before deciding whether he'll play in Game 6. If Lin does return, McHale has some very intriguing lineup decisions to make given the way the Rockets' have performed since he's been out, particularly in Game 5.

Andre Drummond and the Pistons are nearing an agreement on a five-year max deal in the $130 million range.

The NBA’s leading rebounder quickly cashes in despite his woeful 35.5 percent from the line last season. Drummond has been remarkably durable, missing just one game due to injury in his last three seasons. The NBA is expected to alter their intentional fouling rule, which should help Drummond stay on the floor throughout the game. He’s a good bet to match his league-leading 66 double-doubles from last season as a DFS monster in his upcoming age-23 season.

Nicolas Batum has reached an agreement with the Hornets on a five-year, $120 million deal.

This isn't close to the max for Batum, so it's pretty solid bargain for the Hornets -- relative to the other deals, of course. The Hornets not having to max Batum could help them bring on another free agent, including guys like Courtney Lee or Jeremy Lin. Batum does have a player option for the fifth season, as well. The 27-year-old Frenchman was terrific after the break, averaging 15.0 points, 5.4 boards, 6.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.8 treys. He'll be an early-round target in fantasy again.
Jul 1 - 4:05 AM

Jordan Clarkson has reached an agreement on a four-year, $50 million deal to stay with the Lakers.

The Gilbert Arenas rule meant Clarkson could have maxed out at $61 million on four years, so this is a fine deal for the Lakers. Clarkson will resume his role with minutes in the low 30s in what should be a faster, more-productive Lakers offense. Coach Luke Walton could maximize Clarkson, so he's on the radar as a mid-round pick in his age-24 season.

D.J. Augustin has reached an agreement on a deal with the Magic.

The Magic get their backup point guard early. Augustin is actually a really nice complement to Elfrid Payton, making 40.5 percent from beyond the arc last season. The Magic could also use him in two-guard lineups. Augustin is still just 28 years old and should be looking at minutes close to 20. He's only an option in deeper fantasy leagues.
Jul 1 - 3:53 AM

The Pistons have agreed to a three-year deal with Ish Smith.

This comes out of nowhere and the Pistons have their backup point guard. Smith ran Philadelphia's offense with 32.4 minutes per game, averaging 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.9 treys. He'll have to work on his range for coach Stan Van Gundy and he won't have anywhere close to as much fantasy value in Detroit. Additionally, Philadelphia really needs a point guard now.

The Heat "swung back momentum" with unrestricted free agent Hassan Whiteside in their early Friday meeting, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

It looked like the Mavs were the favorites just before Whiteside met with Miami, but now things may have changed. Whiteside just turned 27 in June, so his huge contract will be at the tail end of his prime. Plus, the sample size is a lot smaller compared to other unrestricted free agents. He might be one of the next big deals to get done.
Jul 1 - 3:32 AM

Unrestricted free agent Chandler Parsons was "really impressed" with Portland's presentation, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com.

Parsons has a meeting set up with the Grizzlies on Friday, but the Blazers should be considered as the favorites. They had owner Paul Allen, coach Terry Stotts, general manager Neil Olshey and Damian Lillard in the presentation to help show their vision for Parsons. He's coming off a big knee injury, but Parsons was fantastic after the break with averages of 17.6 points, 5.6 boards, 4.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.4 treys on a sterling 63.5 true shooting percentage.

Unrestricted free agent Eric Gordon "has emerged as Knicks' top perimeter target," according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

The report adds the sides are "starting to discuss parameters of a possible deal." Derrick Rose reportedly reached out to Gordon, who joins Rose with a slew of injuries in his last few seasons. The Knicks are reportedly going to throw a lot of money at Joakim Noah, but the good news is they'll get some help at their two biggest needs. Gordon would lose fantasy value with the Knicks compared to last season.
Jul 1 - 2:36 AM

The Kings, Hawks, Mavericks and Bucks have all reached out to the camp of restricted free agent Matthew Dellavedova.

The Cavs are likely going to retain Dellavedova, but they might have a hard time bringing him back if any of those teams offer a huge deal. Dellavedova will head into his age-26 season, so this contract will be at his prime. That said, his ceiling is likely as a career backup.
Jul 1 - 2:29 AM

DeMar DeRozan has decided to re-sign with the Toronto Raptors on a reported five-year contract worth at least $139 million.

He met with the Raptors at the start of free agency and Toronto quickly closed the deal, giving the two-time All-Star just a shade below the full max -- his full max would have been $153 million. DeRozan had a disappointing postseason, but the free agency crop at guard is very thin, and the move keeps Toronto's improving roster intact. He will turn 27 in August, so the Raptors will get him at the tail end of his prime.
Jul 1 - 2:05 AM

The Lakers and Timofey Mozgov have agreed to four-year, $65 million deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

He's the first unrestricted deal to get done, which is saying something for a guy who saw four DNP-CDs in the final 10 games of the postseason. The Lakers really needed a center, so this is what they believed his market value would be. Mozgov's annual average salary will in the neighborhood of John Wall, who voiced his displeasure about Reggie Jackson matching his pay. Obviously, these contracts will be huge this month. Expect Mozgov to get more minutes with the Lakers than with the Cavs.
