Carmelo Anthony (left shoulder) maintains that he'll be ready for Game 1 vs. the Pacers on Sunday.

"There is some concern there," said Mike Woodson, "but if Melo tells me he can play, I'm all for Melo. If it's bothering him, we may have to rest him ... but he hasn't come to me." We'll keep an eye on his status but all signs point to him playing on Sunday. The league's leading scorer is averaging 29.2 points through six playoff games, but in three matchups this season the Pacers' defense held him to 22 points on 38 percent shooting.

Hassan Whiteside played 41 minutes during a 99-92 loss to the Blazers on Saturday, scoring 28 points with 16 rebounds, one assist and five blocks.

That is a ton of playing time for Whiteside. He made 12-of-16 from the field and now has double-digit rebounding games in all but one game this season. Whiteside padded his lead in rebounds with 14.9 and he's also leapfrogged Rudy Gobert for the No. 2 spot in blocks per game. He's going to post some massive stat lines for the short-handed Heat and is sitting on second-round value this season.
Dec 4 - 1:22 AM

JaMychal Green a big game during a 103-100 win over the Lakers on Saturday, scoring 16 points with 13 rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 34 minutes.

It's a season high in boards and just his second double-double on the year. As a member of the Nasty Nine, Green has been quietly consistent over his last nine, averaging 12.1 points, 7.8 boards, 1.2 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.9 blocks and 0.6 treys on 59.1 percent from the field and 81.3 percent from the line. He has top-45 value in standard leagues in that span, so his patient owners have to be feeling great right now. Make sure he's somehow not on your wire.
Dec 4 - 12:53 AM

Rajon Rondo, who has made no secret about his disdain for the Mavericks, played just 24 minutes, hit 1-of-4 shots and finished with two points, two rebounds, two assists, a steal and five turnovers in Saturday's ugly loss to his former team.

If there was ever a revenge-game scenario that set up well in fantasy hoops, it was tonight with Rondo. And we're still in a bit of shock that he failed to even show up. Rondo was owned in 42 percent of a FanDuel tourney we looked at, so we weren't the only ones drinking the revenge-game Kool Aid. Not to mention that Rondo was coming off a 15-11-12 monster triple-double against the Cavaliers on Friday night. Maybe the back-to-back was too much for him to handle, or maybe he was trying too hard to embarrass Mark Cuban. But Rondo disappeared at the worst time and the Bulls were the ones who were ultimately embarrassed in the 107-82 blowout. He's still averaging 10 points, 8.0 rebounds, 7.6 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 3-pointers on 50 percent shooting over his last five, so just forget about this one and prepare for the next.
Dec 4 - 12:48 AM

Troy Daniels played the best game of his NBA career during a 103-100 win over the Lakers on Saturday, scoring a career-high 31 points with two rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and six 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

Hey now. On Thursday, coach David Fizdale said he's going to "use the heck out of him to get shots" and he wasn't lying. Daniels had a 30.1 usage rate with no turnovers and a 63.7 true shooting percentage. Fizdale also said Daniels wants him to have the "money green light" when he's hot, so it was definitely that color tonight. The Grizzlies are rolling with their Nasty Nine, so feel free to grab Daniels and use him until Chandler Parsons (knee) and James Ennis (calf) can return. His green light should be money green with four games next week.
Dec 4 - 12:28 AM

Lou Williams was a one-man band during a 103-100 loss to the Grizzlies on Saturday, scoring a season-high 40 points with two rebounds, one assist, two steals and four 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

He was 11-of-20 from the field and made all 14 from the line. Williams seemed like he was due for a blow up, and he finally came through. In the previous seven games without D’Angelo Russell (knee), Williams usage rate has increased to 29.5, but his minutes only increased 0.6 from his season average. This massive game boosted him up two rounds of value on the season, putting him inside the top 65 for standard leagues. He's a bit of a sell-high, but Williams is legit under coach Luke Walton.
Dec 4 - 12:20 AM

James Johnson was ejected in the third quarter on Saturday for picking up two technical fouls.

The Heat are now down to just seven healthy players for the fourth quarter. Johnson wasn't having a great game today, finishing with two points, four rebounds, one assist and two turnovers. He's still a hold in standard leagues with the missing so many players.
Dec 3 - 11:55 PM

Isaiah Thomas exploded down the stretch during a 107-106 win over the 76ers on Saturday, scoring a season-high 37 points with four rebounds, seven assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.

He scored 12 consecutive Celtics points down the stretch to lead his team to the win. He also went to the line a season-high 15 times tonight and made 11-of-19 from the field. Thomas is shooting the ball 0.1 percent worse from the field compared to last year, but his efficiency is up thanks to more treys and going to the line 2.5 more times per game. The free throws have made him a top-three option for the free throw percentage category. Thomas has third-round value on the season and is now a top-10 scorer in the NBA. The Pizza Guy is cookin'.
Dec 3 - 11:48 PM

Dario Saric matched his career highs with 21 points and 12 boards against the Celtics on Saturday, adding two assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

He did get plenty of minutes at small forward tonight despite coach Brett Brown saying it wasn't the best matchup to do so against the Celtics. Saric was as cold as ever coming into this game, but maybe the new role is just what he needs -- there is still no prognosis on Robert Covington (knee). We'd obviously like to see him do it again after a two-week slump, but he's worth a look if your league is quick with the pickups and you have something to cut.
Dec 3 - 10:58 PM

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 27 points in a huge comeback 125-120 overtime win in Charlotte on Saturday, adding 15 rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks and two turnovers.

That's his seventh 25-15 game of his career and the Wolves needed it, especially with Towns pulling down a big-time offensive board for a put-back in overtime. Towns was finally able to clear the 10.0 boards per game plateau on the season with this game while he's added 2.7 blocks over his last three. The consistent monster lines are coming.
Dec 3 - 10:54 PM

Andrew Wiggins picked up a season-high three steals in a win over the Hornets on Saturday, adding 29 points, one rebound, four assists and two 3-pointers.

Yeah, the points are nice, but how about those steals? Before tonight, Wiggins managed just nine steals in his 692 minutes this season. He still hasn't blocked a shot since Nov. 19, but we'll take the steals. Hopefully he can add a little more across-the-board value to boost him in standard leagues.
Dec 3 - 10:43 PM

Nicolas Batum handed out a season-high 12 assists during a 125-120 overtime loss to the Wolves on Saturday, adding 15 points, eight rebounds, three steals, one block and three 3-pointers.

The offense went through Batum to make him more of a passer, which helped keep down his somewhat inefficient ways. The inconsistency has been a factor for Batum on the scoring side of things for most of the season. In his previous games, Batum had just 10.0 percent of his shots at the rim while he’s only made 32.8 percent on midrange. He’s posted sixth-round value on the year.
