Nate Robinson scored a game-high 27 points in Game 1's surprising win over the Heat to go with three boards, nine assists, one steal and three 3-pointers on 8-of-16 shooting.

He was outstanding in the second half, shooting 7-of-11 from the field for 24 points. The Bulls went on an offensive tear in the fourth quarter with 35 points, which was more than double their second-quarter total of 16 points. The annoying Derrick Rose cloud hanging over Nate probably just got smaller and he's been one of the best players this postseason. As a nice little cherry on top, Nate received 10 stitches on his lip for a laceration.

Jeff Van Gundy has emerged as a candidate for the Pelicans' open head coaching position according to ESPN.com.

Van Gundy joins Tom Thibodeau and Alvin Gentry as confirmed candidates for the job according to the report, with Gentry the only candidate known to be formally interviewed. Considering many thought Monty Williams was safe after making the playoffs, it makes sense that the franchise had some big names lined up after his somewhat surprising release. After all, coaching the Brow has its benefits.

Jeff Teague hit just 5-of-16 shots in the Hawks' 94-82 loss to the Cavs on Friday, finishing with 12 points, three rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks.

The stat line doesn't reflect his underwhelming play and the score doesn't reflect how far apart the two teams were tonight. Teague was everything he has always been when he struggles -- indecisive, passive and frustrating -- and though some credit should be given to Matthew Dellavedova he just simply has to play better for the Hawks to have a chance. They head to Cleveland down 2-0 for Sunday's matchup.

DeMarre Carroll bounced back from a scary looking knee injury in Game 1 against the Cavs to play in Game 2, finishing with six points on 2-of-6 shooting and three rebounds in a team-high 34 minutes.

Carroll was clearly hobbled and fairly lucky that LeBron James didn't test him as much as he could have. Still, the fact that he led his team in minutes and didn't back down from the challenge tonight are huge feathers in his cap for free agency. He needs some of his teammates to show the same fire he had tonight.
May 22 - 11:31 PM

Al Horford scored 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting with six rebounds, one steal and one block in Friday's Game 2 loss to the Cavs, but also got dinged up throughout the game with apparent quad injuries.

Horford left the game once and would later return and the nature of his discomfort was hard to peg, but it's clear he's not at 100 percent and his status might be touchy going forward. He said after the game that he was okay, however, so Hawks fans can only cross their fingers and hope it doesn't become an issue in Game 3.
May 22 - 11:28 PM

Kyle Korver scored 12 points on 4-of-11 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound and one steal in 32 minutes, but left the game late after hurting an ankle and did not return.

Korver left with the game basically in Cleveland's hands so it's possible the injury is less serious than more serious, and X-rays taken after the game were negative. Kent Bazemore (12 minutes, seven points, one steal) would step into some more minutes if Korver can't play in Game 3, and Dennis Schroder (13 points, 6-of-11 FGs, 12 minutes) could also get more minutes as long as he didn't shoot himself into the doghouse tonight. We'll update Korver's status as soon as we learn more.
May 22 - 11:14 PM

LeBron James scored 30 points on 10-of-22 shooting (2-of-7 3PTs, 8-of-11 FTs) with nine rebounds, 11 assists and one block as the Cavs trounced the Hawks in Friday's Game 2 win.

It's unfair to ask any one player to guard LeBron and the Hawks' scheme has been borderline belligerent on top of that. The scary part is that he is appears to be toying with the Hawks, settling for outside looks rather than punishing Atlanta for their lack of size. Game 3 is Sunday in Cleveland.
May 22 - 11:09 PM

DeMarre Carroll (knee) will start in Friday's Game 2 against the Cavs.

Carroll was wincing throughout warmups and owners have to plan for some sort of limitation. Kent Bazemore and Paul Millsap may end up picking up the slack on LeBron James. If Carroll falters then Bazemore stands to gain the most here in terms of playing time, but his numbers could suffer if he has to cover LeBron a lot. Kyle Korver could also get some time on the King.
May 22 - 7:59 PM

Kyrie Irving (knee) will not play against the Hawks on Friday night.

Coach David Blatt called it a "medical decision" for Irving to sit tonight. He went to visit Dr. James Andrews today to confirm the tendinitis issue. With Irving out, Matthew Dellavedova will get the start with J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert getting more run.
May 22 - 7:00 PM

Kyrie Irving arrived at the Philips Arena with a suit bag and it "seems like he'll be in street clothes," according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

We'll let you know if Kyrie is going to warm up for this one, but most signs point to him getting some rest today. If he's out, Matthew Dellavedova would start while Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith would play more.
May 22 - 6:54 PM

DeMarre Carroll (knee) is still a game-time decision to play against the Cavs on Friday night in Game 2.

There is an unconfirmed report that Carroll won't be playing, which wouldn't be a surprise. Of course, there's some added risk because Carroll is headed to free agency this summer and has a lot riding on that left knee of his. If he is out, Kent Bazemore will likely move into the starting lineup. Expect to see Dennis Schroder log more minutes along with Paul Millsap guarding LeBron James more often.
May 22 - 6:52 PM

Gordon Hayward had minor outpatient surgery on his right heel.

He is expected to make a full recovery in the early part of the summer. Hayward missed some game action near the end of the season due to an Achilles issue, so that likely explains his procedure. It shouldn't affect his fantasy value as an early-round target. The Jazz will have decent depth at all their positions, so their draft selection won't be easy.
