Amare Stoudemire (knee surgery) is on track to play in Game 3 vs. the Pacers on Saturday.

Although Stoudemire still needs to "finish off his trial run" with a 5-on-5 scrimmage at practice on Friday, all signs point to him returning on Saturday. As long as he doesn't get hurt or have a setback, he'll be cleared to return on Saturday. "He's working his butt off to get back in uniform," Mike Woodson said. "We're going to play him. He won't be able to play big minutes, but we're going to play him."

Jose Calderon (knee) will start against the Thunder on Wednesday night.

Jan 28 - 6:22 PM

Coach Kevin McHale said he'd be "shocked" if Dwight Howard (ankle) played against the Mavericks.

This will be his second consecutive game in street clothes, assuming something wild does not happen. For what it's worth, McHale has used this "shocked" statement before and it's held up every time. With Howard out, Terrence Jones might have to step up in his first game back. Donatas Motiejunas, Josh Smith and Joey Dorsey are also expected to help more.
Jan 28 - 6:18 PM

Terrence Jones (leg) will be active and available for the Rockets on Wednesday, though he'll be limited to 15-20 minutes.

Houston will ease Jones into the mix after his lengthy rehab from a nerve issue which has kept him on the sidelines since Nov. 3. He may even start on Wednesday with Dwight Howard (ankle, knee) very unlikely to play. Josh Smith and Donatas Motiejunas complicate Jones' role when Houston is at full strength, but he has enough upside to be worth a stash if he's still floating on the waiver wire.
Jan 28 - 6:18 PM

Nicolas Batum (wrist) will play vs. the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Batum has a torn ligament on the outside of his wrist but he said recently that he's nearly pain-free, and it sounds like he'll join LaMarcus Aldridge in the play-through-it camp. Batum's scoring has vanished in recent weeks, due in large part to the injury, but he's still returning steady value thanks to across-the-board contributions.
Jan 28 - 6:12 PM

LeBron James (wrist) appears to be closer to doubtful to play against the Blazers on Wednesday.

There are multiple reports from the Blazers side of things that LeBron is unlikely, so we'll be looking for something from the Cavs soon. Again, nothing is official yet, but fantasy owners can plan on LeBron sitting this one out. J.R. Smith benefits the most while we should get more Mike Miller and Matthew Dellavedova. Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving will also have more chances to score.
Jan 28 - 6:10 PM

Dwyane Wade is expected to miss "extended time" with his hamstring injury, according to the Sun Sentinel.

He received treatment on Wednesday and the Heat already signed Tyler Johnson to a 10-day deal to fill Wade's spot. Wade missed two weeks with a strained hamstring back in November, which may seem like a fair expectation at this point for his current issue. It will likely be Shabazz Napier benefiting the most while Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole have to step up. Expect to see Chris Bosh carry the offense, as well.
Jan 28 - 5:44 PM

LeBron James (sore wrist) is a game-time decision on Wednesday due to a hard fall he took during Tuesday's game.

He continued playing after the injury on Tuesday and we're guessing he suits up vs. the visiting Trail Blazers, but coach David Blatt said the Cavaliers are "gauging [the injury] right up until game time." If he's forced to sit out, his minutes will be absorbed by a platoon including Mike Miller, Shawn Marion, Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith.
Jan 28 - 5:32 PM

JaKarr Sampson will start at shooting guard against the Pistons on Wednesday.

It will be his sixth start at guard this season. In his previous five, Sampson averaged 6.2 points, 1.6 boards, 0.1 steals, 0.1 blocks and 0.4 triples. If those stats are desirable to you, give him a look.
Jan 28 - 5:26 PM

John Wall is listed as questionable to face the Suns, but a team official said he thinks Wall will play.

He wasn't on the injury report for the pre-game notes, but the Wizards are going to entertain the idea of resting him again. He was supposed to have a minutes limit on Tuesday, but it didn't happen. Wall has an Achilles issue, a sore ankle, and migraines, so it's possible he sits. Owners in season-long leagues should start Wall tonight, but he's not a great DFS option.
Jan 28 - 5:21 PM

Michael Carter-Williams (illness) will start Wednesday's game vs. the Pistons

He does feel better [but] he's not 100 percent," said coach Brett Brown. MCW's return sends Larry Drew II back to the bench and he's safe to activate in all lineups even though he's still under the weather, as he's taken on a massive workload with Tony Wroten out of the picture.
Jan 28 - 5:20 PM

George Hill (leg) missed practice on Wednesday.

"To not be able to start the season with these guys and go through all these battles with them and then coming back for a couple games and it's [another injury], that [is bad]," Hill said. Not good. He just can't stay healthy this season and is almost a lock to miss games at some point. We should consider him questionable to play against the Knicks on Thursday.
