Updating a previous item, Bryan Colangelo will remain at MLSE in a "corporate" role in a non-basketball capacity.

In other words, Colangelo is out as Raptors lead man with respect to basketball decisions. MLSE will continue its search for a new head of the Raptors organization with Denver's GM Masai Ujiri firmly in sight.

Ersan Ilyasova will not return to Tuesday's game due to a sore right groin.

Anyone surprised by this news hasn't been paying attention to Ilyasova's injury history, as he's missed an average of 16.0 games over the past four seasons. We're considering him questionable to play vs. the Magic on Thursday but a few DNPs should be anticipated by owners, as groin injuries are notoriously slow to heal. Johnny O'Bryant may return to the starting lineup for any games Ilyasova sits out, though Jared Dudley took his place during the second half on Tuesday.

An MRI taken on Tuesday night confirmed that Nick Young suffered a moderate ankle sprain, and he is being considered questionable for Thursday's game vs. the Bulls.

He obviously won't play tonight, but it's definitely a good sign that the injury isn't too serious. Young was benched down the stretch during Sunday's game due to a lack of effort, but the Lakers are obviously going to need his scoring punch with the news that Kobe Bryant (shoulder) is likely out for the season, so owners should consider holding onto him. Expect Wayne Ellington, Jordan Clarkson and Jeremy Lin to benefit in the short-term.
Jan 27 - 8:52 PM

Tony Allen (ankle) will not play in Tuesday's game against Dallas.

Allen was recently benched in favor of Jeff Green, so this news certainly doesn't help his already limited value. Expect Courtney Lee, Jeff Green and Vince Carter to pick up the slack for Memphis on Tuesday.
Jan 27 - 8:25 PM

Mike Conley (wrist) will dress for Tuesday's game against Dallas, but he is not expected to play.

Owners should probably keep Conley on the bench tonight, as he will likely serve as Emergency depth for the Grizzlies. Beno Udrih will draw the start in his absence, and should be considered in most leagues for owners in need of short-term value. Nick Calathes, Courtney Lee and Vince Carter should all benefit as well.
Jan 27 - 8:03 PM

The Pistons are emerging as a suitor for Norris Cole.

The Pistons just lost Brandon Jennings (Achilles) for the season, so they could definitely use some depth in their backcourt. Cole has found himself out of the rotation in Miami, as they have opted to go with Mario Chalmers and Shabazz Napier instead. It probably wouldn't take much for the deal to work, but the Hornets are also said to be interested in Cole. We will continue to follow this story closely, but owners in standard leagues can safely leave Cole on the wire for now, as he likely wouldn't start no matter where he ends up.
Jan 27 - 7:21 PM

The All-Star Slam Dunk contest will include Mason Plumlee, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Oladipo, and Zach LaVine.

It's definitely an intriguing group to watch this season, but it's no secret that the dunk contest has lost a lot of steam in recent years, so hopefully these players turn that around. Plumlee, Giannis and Oladipo have been must-own players this season, but rookie Zach LaVine has had a tough time adapting to life in the NBA. LaVine should be in his element for this contest though, and should be considered to be the favorite to win the competition.
Jan 27 - 7:11 PM

Hassan Whiteside is expected to replace Chris Andersen (elbow, back) in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game vs. the Bucks.

Whiteside is coming off a massive tripe-double from Sunday, and he'll look to keep the momentum going with a favorable matchup against the Bucks on Tuesday. Make sure you have him active, and give him a look if you're playing in any daily leagues.
Jan 27 - 6:02 PM

Chris Andersen (elbow, back) will not suit up for Tuesday's game vs. Milwaukee.

With Andersen unavailable, Hassan Whiteside will likely slide into the starting lineup and he'll make for a fantastic plug-and-play option in daily leagues coming off a monster triple-double on Sunday.
Jan 27 - 5:58 PM

Luol Deng (sore calf) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game vs. the Bucks.

Danny Granger is expected to slide into the starting lineup with Deng sidelined, but with averages of just 4.7 points on 41.7 percent shooting with the starting unit this season, there's not much to like here. James Ennis will also see some increased opportunity, but he's been far too inconsistent to rely upon in most leagues. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will be tasked with more responsibilities on offense, and they look like the best plays in daily leagues with Deng unavailable.
Jan 27 - 5:51 PM

Dwight Howard tweaked his right ankle during Tuesday's practice, and remains a game-time decision for Wednesday's game vs. Dallas.

"It wasn’t as bad as when it happened, but I had to sit out of practice, so we’ll see how it feels [Wednesday]," Howard said. "Hopefully I can play, but if not, we still have a great chance to win the game." While Joey Dorsey would draw the start if Howard sits, Josh Smith and Donatas Motiejunas would see the biggest increase in value.
Jan 27 - 5:07 PM

Paul Pierce (toe) did not participate during shootaround, and he is questionable for Tuesday's game vs. the Lakers.

Pierce has been dealing with a nagging toe injury since Dec. 4, and with the Wizards set to play a team owning a record of 12-33, there's a good chance the veteran is rested tonight. If he sits, Otto Porter could slide into the starting lineup, with Martell Webster and Rasual Butler seeing some increased opportunity. Stay tuned.
