David Lee had successful surgery to repair his torn hip flexor and is expected to be ready for training camp.

Lee said that a procedure was more than likely while the Warriors were still in the playoffs, and now we know he went ahead with getting it done. He has plenty of time to recover and we're not worried about his availability for the start of next season. He's expected to begin his rehab in 10-14 days.

Glenn Robinson III won the Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday night.

After one of the best Slam Dunk Contests ever last year, this one was a little disappointing. There were a lot of missed dunks and Aaron Gordon just didn't have the bounce that he had last year. Derrick Jones Jr. arguably had the best two dunks on the night, but misses in the final cost him. When he returns to action next week, Robinson III could lose his starting job due to the Pacers looking to deal their first-round pick for some help.

Eric Gordon won the 3-Point Contest on Saturday night.

He tied Kyrie Irving in the final, but dominated in the overtime frame to pass Irving even before the final rack. Gordon actually hasn't shot the ball as well as earlier this year. In fact, he shot 44.1 percent from the field in December, 40.1 percent from there in January, and is at just 37.5 percent this month. Some of this could be due to his injury, so hopefully the time off gets him going again.

Kristaps Porzingis won the Skills Challenge on Saturday night.

He is the first Knick to win the Skills Challenge and is the second big in a row to win it with Karl-Anthony Towns taking it home last year. Porzingis was also effective with 24 points in the World's victory in the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday night, so he had a solid weekend on the court. You could make an argument he should've made the All-Star team over Carmelo Anthony, too. After dealing with an Achilles issue for three different stints last month, he's back up to 31.1 minutes per game in February.
Feb 18 - 8:38 PM

Jamal Murray took home MVP honors in the Rising Stars Challenge during the World's 150-141 win on Friday, scoring 36 points with four rebounds, 11 assists, one steal and nine 3-pointers in just 20 minutes.

The arrows were flying in New Orleans for the No. 7 pick in the 2016 draft. Late in this game, Murray got about as hot as anyone could get this side of Klay Thompson's 37-point third quarter against the Kings, scoring 25 points in the second half tonight. Heading into the second half of the season, Murray could be a more effective scorer with how Mason Plumlee is such a great passer out of the post. Still, he doesn't have a clear path for minutes and the Nuggets looking like they want to go for the No. 8 seed makes it less likely Jameer Nelson is traded. Long term, Murray looks like a good one.

Joel Embiid (knee) said he thinks he can "probably" play in the first game after the All-Star break.

In case you missed it, he had suffered a minor tear to his meniscus late last month. He said as long as the practices go well and he's not dealing with swelling or soreness, he expects to be out there against the Wizards on Feb. 24. Embiid said he's been getting through some workouts about every other day to help get him going, as well. This is encouraging news for The Process and perhaps he can get back out there, but obviously the training staff and front office will have their say on this matter.

The Pistons and Magic have discussed a trade that would send Reggie Jackson to Orlando for D.J. Augustin and Jeff Green, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

To be clear, nothing is imminent. We're going to see a lot of Jackson trade rumors as the deadline approaches next Thursday. He's been vastly outplayed by Ish Smith lately and the Pistons just don't have the ammo to compete in the Eastern Conference right now, so being sellers makes sense. There could be some sort of draft compensation for the Pistons, but Jackson being signed through the 2019-20 season is a big factor on potential move. It makes sense to stash Ish Smith in deeper leagues.

Multiple teams view Derrick Rose as a potential trade target, according to ESPN's Ian Begley.

While Carmelo Anthony rumors continue to swirl, ESPN reports that Rose is attracting some attention from other teams in need of point guard help. Rose has been putting up impressive numbers of late. Over the Knicks last four games, Rose is averaging 19.0 points (on 57.9 percent shooting), 5.3 assists and 4.5 rebounds. If he is traded, his fantasy value would likely take a hit, as Rose would probably see fewer minutes and a reduced usage rate on a new team.

DeMarcus Cousins says he is "very happy" in Sacramento and intends to sign an extension with the Kings this summer.

Cousins had been mentioned in trade rumors frequently over the past couple of seasons but signing an extension would put those discussions to rest. He will be able to sign a five-year extension worth up to $219 million this summer. "I'm a guy that's all about loyalty and honesty," Cousins said. "It's hard, but at the end of the day you gotta remember that this is a business."

Jimmy Butler scored 29 points during a 104-103 win over the Celtics on Thursday, adding four rebounds, seven assists, one block and two 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

With the Bulls down one, Butler was fouled with 0.9 seconds and he was able to hit both free throws. After the game, he said he learned the spin-move fadeaway from Dwyane Wade to get the foul call on Marcus Smart. Regarding his banged-up heel, there is really no such thing as half speed for Butler with 39.0 minutes per game since he returned from injury on Feb. 12. Obviously the All-Star break should work wonders to get him right. He's still a top-10 player in standard leagues this season as the alpha.
Feb 16 - 10:51 PM

Isaiah Thomas scored 29 points during a 104-103 loss to the Bulls on Thursday, adding three rebounds, seven assists and four 3-pointers.

The other four starters scored a combined 29 points to match IT4 in this loss. Thomas set the franchise record for most 20-plus scoring games in a row with 41 to pass John Havlicek. He also has a chance to be the first Celtic ever to lead the NBA in scoring per game. Although, he still need 1.2 points per game to catch Russell Westbrook. IT has been a top-10 player in standard leagues this season.
Feb 16 - 10:39 PM

John Wall kept it going during a 111-98 win over the Pacers on Thursday, scoring 20 points with two rebounds, 12 assists, one steal, two blocks and five turnovers in 37 minutes.

Break up the Wizards. They have won 11 of their last 12 to help them surge to the No. 3 spot in the Eastern Conference. Wall has also passed Russell Westbrook for No. 2 in assists thanks to this outburst and is just 0.02 steals per game behind Draymond Green for the league lead in that department. Wall has absolutely earned his All-Star spot and has been among the best Eastern Conference player in the past month.
