LeBron James said he's not thinking about the possibility of becoming a free agent in the summer of 2014 yet.

The six-year, $109.8 million deal James signed before the 2010-11 season was actually a four-year contract with two seasons of player options tacked on to the end. He can opt out and become an unrestricted free agent after the upcoming season, just like Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. James won't comment on something that far down the road yet, but he did say that the opportunity to compete for several more titles with the Heat is "the ultimate." Miami has been to three straight Finals and won back-to-back championships since LeBron arrived. They'll do whatever it takes to keep him when the time comes.

LeBron James had his first triple-double of the season during a 120-100 win over the Kings on Monday, scoring 21 points with 10 rebounds, 10 assists, one block, two steals and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes.

It's the 40th triple-double of the season, which is the seventh most in NBA history. James is getting more shots now even with Kyrie Irving coming around, averaging 25.0 points, 7.6 boards, 6.8 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.0 blocks and 0.6 treys. He'll hang around late-first value going forward.
Feb 8 - 10:11 PM

Kyrie Irving handed out a season-high 12 assists against the Kings on Monday with 32 points, three rebounds, one block and five 3-pointers.

He failed to bust out before tonight because his 3-point shooting wasn't dropping. That wasn't the case tonight as Irving hit 5-of-8 from there in this win. His breakout last year had a lot to do with hitting treys, so expect him to keep it going and improve from a quiet start this season.
Feb 8 - 10:06 PM

Joe Johnson banked in a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to help the Nets beat the Nuggets 105-104 on Monday.

Some will say it was luck, but Johnson has been doing this his entire career. He finished with 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting with eight assists, three boards, two steals and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes. He did score 20 or more points in two different games last week, but he still has very little upside and it's possible that the Nets negotiate a buyout so that he can join a contender. Regardless, it was nice to see him turn back the clock tonight.
Feb 8 - 10:01 PM

Kemba Walker scored 30 points with seven rebounds, eight assists, three steals and four 3-pointers during a 108-91 win over the Bulls on Monday.

He's having an awesome year and he might be able to get an All-Star nod with Jimmy Butler (knee) possibly not ready to play in Toronto. Walker should be close to a top-20 player going forward.
Feb 8 - 9:59 PM

Nik Stauskas suffered a neck injury in the fourth quarter on Monday against the Clippers.

He was sitting on the court for about 10 seconds before he walked back to the locker room under his own power. Stauskas is likely done for the night, checking out with five points, one rebound and one 3-pointer. He was replaced by Robert Covington.
Feb 8 - 9:00 PM

Marc Gasol is dealing with a right mid-foot sprain and will not return to Monday's game vs. the Blazers.

This is the same foot issue that has been a problem for him recently, and he was considered questionable to even suit up. He lasted just 11 minutes before hobbling back to the locker room, so the Grizzlies might be more inclined to hold him out until the All-Star break. In the meantime, Zach Randolph will play more center and Ryan Hollins will play more off the bench.
Feb 8 - 8:59 PM

Meyers Leonard will start next to Mason Plumlee on Monday vs. the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies start a frontcourt featuring Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol, so the Blazers need Leonard's size tonight. Leonard has been inconsistent all season, so he's not a great add in most leagues. The move will send Moe Harkless to the bench.
Feb 8 - 8:08 PM

Festus Ezeli had arthroscopic surgery to clean debris from his left knee and he will be re-evaluated in six weeks.

If he returned to the court in six weeks, there would only be a couple of weeks left in the regular season. Needless to say, it's safe to drop Ezeli in fantasy leagues. The good news is that Ezeli should be ready to go for the postseason, but in the meantime the Warriors will rely on Marreese Speights to fill the void.
Feb 8 - 7:29 PM

Ian Mahinmi took an elbow to the face during Monday's game vs. the Lakers, but he is available to return.

It happened on the first play of the game and there was a lot of blood, but he received eight stitches and was diagnosed with a forehead laceration. He should be good to go moving forward, but we will have another update after the game.
Feb 8 - 7:17 PM

Kobe Bryant (shoulder) and Julius Randle (ankle) will both start vs. the Pacers on Monday.

Their status was never really in doubt, so they shouldn't have any limitations. Bryant is averaging 28.5 points, 6.5 boards, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 4.8 3-pointers over his last four games, so he needs to be in all lineups until he cools off.
Feb 8 - 6:46 PM

DAngelo Russell (groin) will play on Monday night against the Pacers.

He went through warmups without incident and may not be limited. Russell will come off the bench this week and he could get in the starting lineup later this month.
