Cavaliers waive forward Kevin Jones.

The Cavs cut ties with both Jones and guard Chris Quinn on Friday after both players suffered concussions during summer league. Jones spent last season traversing between the D-League and the NBA.

Tobias Harris (quad) will be available to play against the Mavericks on Saturday.

It was originally thought to be a knee injury, but we have now learned that Harris simply suffered a bruised lower right quad during Thursday's game against the Bucks. This is obviously great news for Harris, and it doesn't look like he will be in danger of missing any time. Harris is still coming off the bench for the time being, but with head coach Jacque Vaughn's job in jeopardy, Harris should be in line for more playing time moving forward.

DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Pacers.

He was able to play through his left ankle sprain on Friday against the Cavaliers, but knowing that this is the second half of a back-to-back set, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Kings limit his minutes. Cousins is obviously a must-start option even when he is at less than 100 percent, but just be sure to check back prior to tip-off for any updates on his status.

The Knicks announced on Saturday that they have signed forward Lance Thomas for the remainder of the season.

Thomas has exceeded expectations since arriving from the Thunder, and he has earned a decent role at both forward spots for the Knicks. Thomas doesn't have a lot of upside, but his playing time could increase if Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire miss more time in the future, and all indications say that they will. For now, Thomas can be ignored outside of deeper leagues.

The Nets have reportedly turned down the Nuggets trade offer of J.J. Hickson and JaVale McGee for Brook Lopez.

Lopez is coming off a 35-point game against the Raptors on Friday, so the Nets probably feel like they can get a lot more in return. The fact remains that Brooklyn will entertain several different offers until the Feb. 19 deadline, so this is definitely something we will monitor closely. Lopez will always be a major injury risk, but he's a must-start player when healthy.
Jan 31 - 9:02 AM

Gordon Hayward was on fire in the Jazz's 110-100 win over the Warriors on Friday, scoring 26 points on 9-of-20 shooting (1-of-3 from deep, 7-of-8 from the line) with 15 rebounds, six assists and three steals.

So much for that sinus congestion. He settled down after a real hot start, but he is starting to push his way back up the ranks, now sitting at a top 25-35 return on the season (8/9 cat). Derrick Favors added 15 points, four rebounds, two steals and three blocks in the win.
Jan 31 - 2:38 AM

Hassan Whiteside probably upped his 2K rating once again in the Heat's 93-72 loss to the Mavs on Friday, scoring 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting with 24 rebounds, one steal and one block in 29 minutes.

Hopefully you didn't drop him or sell him at some low-rent rate. He's bringing back late first-round fantasy value over the past 11 games as waiver wire pickup of the year in both fantasy and reality.
Jan 31 - 2:10 AM

Charlie Villanueva scored a season-high 20 points off the bench on Friday, hitting six threes with five rebounds and one block in 23 minutes.

Villanueva had a few nice games earlier in the month but has been dead quiet ever since. If he can parlay this into a few nice outings in a row we'll let you know.
Jan 31 - 1:58 AM

Eric Gordon scored 28 points on 10-of-20 shooting (including five threes) with two rebounds, seven assists and one steal in Friday's win over the Clippers.

With Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday out his touches were bound to increase and he's doing his part to give something back at the tail-end of a tumultuous contract. He's a must-start player until further notice.
Jan 31 - 1:45 AM

Chris Paul scored 24 points on 10-of-20 shooting (including three treys) with eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals in Friday's loss to the Pelicans.

Paul has been a top 5-6 player this season and that's right around his ADP. DeAndre Jordan went for 12 and 15 with three blocks in the loss.
Jan 31 - 1:39 AM

Jonas Valanciunas limped out of the arena on Friday due to an ankle injury and is up in the air for Saturday against the Wizards.

He played very well tonight and returned from the injury. Valanciunas made all seven shots from the field for 14 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in 33 minutes tonight. His ankle is likely going to swell up on him, so Patrick Patterson will likely benefit the most.
Jan 30 - 10:51 PM

Brook Lopez scored 35 points against the Raptors during a 127-122 overtime loss on Friday with 12 rebounds, three steals and three blocks in 41 minutes.

Jarrett Jack and Lopez were the first Nets teammates to score at least 35 points since 1981 (Mike Newline and Cliff T. Robinson). Obviously Lopez is healthy right now and the Nets are probably going to be asking a little more in a trade following this gem. He's a must-start player now, but there are a lot of things that could go wrong. If you can sell high, do it.
