The Grizzlies are "firmly in the mix" to sign Mo Williams, whom the Jazz and Heat have also expressed interest in signing.

There is no obvious starting PG job available on those teams, unless Utah starts him while Trey Burke adapts to the NBA, and ESPN's Marc Stein writes that it's "still hard to pinpoint a frontrunner." The Grizzlies already have Jerryd Bayless and Mike Miller spreading the court in their second unit, but they could always use more help after making (and attempting) the fewest 3-pointers of any team in the league last season.

Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) will not return against the Cavs on Thursday.

Feb 23 - 9:24 PM

Kristaps Porzingis suffered a sprained ankle on Thursday night and is questionable to return to the game.

He has eight points, five boards and two blocks at half time and we'll let you know if he's back out there at the start of the third quarter. If not, Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Lance Thomas might be a little busier than usual.
Feb 23 - 9:19 PM

Chris Paul (thumb) will not play against the Warriors on Thursday night.

The Clippers are on a back-to-back set, so CP3 has a decent chance to play on Friday against the Spurs. Coach Doc Rivers called his Hall of Fame point guard "iffy" for that game, though. He has been cleared to play in games, but he did beat his target date by about a week. Raymond Felton and Austin Rivers will get another go with an expanded role.
Feb 23 - 9:12 PM

Kenneth Faried (ankle) and Emmanuel Mudiay (back) are available to play against the Kings on Thursday.

This is a surprise with Faried listed as doubtful on Wednesday. He should be sticking in the starting lineup, but his playing time may be dropping with the Nuggets having most of their depth and also Mason Plumlee in the fold.
Feb 23 - 9:10 PM

Zaza Pachulia will start and JaVale McGee will move to the bench against the Clippers on Thursday.

Coach Steve Kerr wasn't sure if he wanted to start Pachulia right off the bat, but he'll go with his vet against DeAndre Jordan. Pachulia should be looking at minutes around 20 in this game and won't have much value.
Feb 23 - 8:48 PM

Arron Afflalo (hamstring) will not play on Thursday night against the Nuggets.

No revenge game for Afflalo. With him out and the Kings in dire straits on the wings, we should see a lot of Ben McLemore and even some Ty Lawson in two-PG lineups. McLemore will be a risky DFS play and isn't worth owning in most leagues.
Feb 23 - 8:43 PM

Jrue Holiday, E'Twaun Moore, Solomon Hill, Anthony Davis and Demarcus Cousins will start against the Rockets on Thursday.

We get a look at the new duo against a three-point barrage of the Rockets. Cousins was on pace for the second highest usage rate since Kobe Bryant in 2005-06, but it'll certainly be dropping on his new team. Expect his numbers to see a dip now that he has some help. He's still an elite fantasy option.
Feb 23 - 7:30 PM

Jusuf Nurkic and Noah Vonleh will start vs. the Magic on Thursday.

Meyers Leonard and Ed Davis will shift to the bench and this is a fairly predictable move after Portland dealt Mason Plumlee to acquire Nurk before the All-Star break. He racked up 13 points, seven boards, three steals and one block in 21 minutes during his Blazers debut, and projects as a solid rest-of-season option in an expanded role for Portland.
Feb 23 - 6:57 PM

Deron Williams plans to join the Cavs, according to the Associated Press.

He still has to clear waivers, but there are a ton of reports saying the Cavs will be signing the former All-Star. Williams played on Team USA with LeBron James, so those two are familiar playing next to each other despite not playing on the same NBA team. He will back up Kyrie Irving and could also see some minutes in two-PG lineups. Obviously his fantasy value takes a major hit.

Pelicans waive F Terrence Jones.

With the addition of DeMarcus Cousins, there just isn't going to be minutes for Jones in New Orleans. He should certainly receive some interest in the free agent market and some of the bad teams could claim him to give him minutes. Chances are his fantasy value drops on a new team, but he could still be worth stashing in deeper leagues to see where he winds up.
Feb 23 - 5:58 PM

Mavs waive G Deron Williams.

The Mavs do right by their point guard to allow him to join a contender. The Cavs look to be the heavy favorite to land the former All-Star guard and have him back up Kyrie Irving. When he was on the court, Williams was having a solid season, averaging 13.1 points, 6.9 assists and 1.6 treys in 29.3 minutes per game. His fantasy value will be dropping in a big way while Yogi Ferrell gets the keys to the offense going forward.
