Suns draft pick Alex Oriakhi has signed with the French team CSP Limoges.

Phoenix took Oriakhi with the No. 57 pick in the draft and he wasn't expected to crack the rotation even if he did come to the NBA. Hopefully he'll be ready to contribute after a year or two of development overseas.

Warriors' GM Bob Myers said that Stephen Curry (knee) could return for Saturday's Game 3 or Monday's Game 4.

"I know everybody wants to know is it going to be Saturday, is it going to be Monday?" said Meyers of Curry's timetable. "It's in that range, but it's hard to say. But those games [3 and 4] are so close together... He's got to play a little bit of 3-on-3 or 5-on-5. He hasn't done any of that stuff yet." Steve Kerr is hopeful that Curry can go through a full scrimmage on Thursday, and if he can get through that scrimmage, it sounds like he has a decent chance of suiting up for Game 3. Stay tuned.

Hassan Whiteside said that his bruised right thigh is at about 85 percent, but he has no intention of missing any time with the injury.

"It's not 100 percent, but I'm going to keep playing," said Whiteside. The thigh injury didn't appear to limit him much during Sunday's blowout win over the Hornets, and he should be receiving a full compliment of minutes for Tuesday's Game 1 against the Raptors. He's one of the better centers to target in DFS.
May 3 - 2:20 PM

Russell Westbrook scored a team-high 29 points during a 98-97 Game 2 victory over the Spurs on Monday, adding seven rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer.

This game had a wild finish with Dion Waiters elbowing Manu Ginobili on an inbound pass. Before that, Westbrook picked up a lot easier buckets with the Thunder scoring 21 points in fast break -- they only had 12 in the 124-92 Game 1 loss. Westbrook didn't have to deal with Kawhi Leonard as much as Game 1, so that was huge for him. Coach Gregg Popovich will probably try to put Kawhi on Westy more in Game 3 on Friday.
May 3 - 12:51 AM

Kevin Durant scored 28 points in 42 minutes against the Spurs during a Game 1 win on Monday, adding seven rebounds, four assists, one block and one 3-pointer.

He was much better in this game even though Kawhi Leonard guarded him more in this game than on Saturday. Durant and Westbrook scored 57 of the 98 points and handed out 14 of the 16 assists in this game. This series is off until Friday, so the Thunder will have some confidence after they were blown out in Game 1.
May 3 - 12:44 AM

LaMarcus Aldridge was on fire during a 98-97 loss to the Thunder in Game 2 on Monday, making 15-of-21 from the field for 41 points with eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks, one 3-pointer and no turnovers.

He is lighting it up with his jumper and in the post-up game. Aldridge has scored 79 points in the last two games with an absurd 80.9 true shooting percentage. The Spurs have to give him a touch on basically every possession right now, especially with his teammates not clicking. Expect him to have a huge series.
May 3 - 12:34 AM

LeBron James scored 25 points during a 104-93 Game 1 win over the Hawks on Monday, adding seven rebounds, nine assists, five steals, one block, four turnovers and two 3-pointers.

The Cavs lost an 18-point lead, but they finished strong to earn the home win. James picked up his 120th playoff victory in this win, which passed Michael Jordan's 119. He was hit in the face in the fourth quarter and remained down for about 15 seconds, but he didn't miss time after that. The Cavs will look to go 6-0 in the postseason on Wednesday.
May 2 - 10:33 PM

Dennis Schroder scored a playoff career-high 27 points against the Cavs on Monday, adding three rebounds, six assists, five 3-pointers and five turnovers in 29 minutes.

Coach Mike Budenholzer went with Schroder in the fourth quarter due to his strong shooting in the first three quarters, but it kind of backfired. Schroder is one of the most Jekyll and Hyde players in the NBA due to how careless he can be at times. He likely won't play this much in Game 2 on Wednesday.
May 2 - 10:02 PM

Coach Steve Kerr said Stephen Curry (knee) won't play in Game 2 on Tuesday.

The team will list him as doubtful "just to give people something to chew on," according to Kerr. The Warriors certainly didn't need him on Sunday in an easy win. They would probably like to hold him out for the entire series, but there is a chance he can suit up in Game 3 or 4. Shaun Livingston will get another start for Curry.

New Lakers coach Luke Walton believes D'Angelo Russell has the potential to be a "perennial All-Star."

"He has very high potential. To me, he can be a perennial All-Star," he said. "He has the vision that you want your point guard to have. He sees the floor. Once they put him in the starting lineup, he naturally got a little more aggressive." The new lead man likes how Russell can score from both three-point range and the post, and you can be sure Walton will emphasize both of those qualities in his first year on the job.
May 2 - 1:53 PM

Luke Walton is expected to receive a five-year contract worth approximately $25 million to become the Lakers head coach.

In other words, he and Steve Kerr can now share something else in common. The Lakers should introduce Walton at a press conference shortly after Golden State's season concludes, but that could very well not be until the middle of June.
May 2 - 1:44 PM

Updating a previous item, Dirk Nowitzki confirmed that he will opt out of the final season of his current contract with the Mavericks.

Nowitzki did reiterate his plan to remain in Dallas, so this isn't about to be a free agent bidding war. What this does mean, however, is that the Mavs will now face some very real pressure to construct a winner around their most important player, and it's very possible that Dirk won't be as kind with a discount this time around after playing for far less than market value in each of the last two seasons. The third-year option Nowitzki is set to decline is worth approximately $8.7 million.
