According to USA Today, LeBron James has decided to not run for either president or first vice president of the National Basketball Players Association.

Reports surfaced last week that James was thinking of running for president of the union, but he informed Heat teammate and NBPA secretary-treasurer James Jones of his decision that he won't run. James has said he is dissatisfied with the NBPA and that he thinks the union is "heading backwards," but did not want to run unless he could devote 100 percent of his time to the position.

Dwyane Wade confirmed that he will play both ends of the Bulls back-to-back (Tuesday in Orlando and Wednesday vs. Atlanta.)

It is important to note that Chicago may choose to limit his minutes in at least one of these two games, just as they did in a similar back-to-back situation last week, when he played 20 minutes (and scored four points) on Friday but then scored 30 points in 35 minutes the next night. Feel free to start Wade as one normally would in season-long leagues, but he carries a bit of extra risk for those considering him in DFS formats.

Jerian Grant is expected to replace Michael Carter-Williams as the Bulls starting point guard Tuesday vs. the Magic.

Grant has been a DNP-CD in three of the Bulls last five games, so this certainly qualifies as surprising news. However, Michael Carter-Williams has struggled recently, so it is understandable that coach Fred Hoiberg wanted to shake things up. MCW has scored a total of five points on 2-of-12 shooting and dished out just four assists over 40 minutes in the the Bulls previous two games. Grant has started five games this season, averaging 9.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in those contests. It will be interesting to see who Hoiberg uses as his first PG off the bench: Carter-Williams or Rajon Rondo.

Jahlil Okafor (knee) was limited in shootaround on Tuesday morning and has been downgraded to questionable for Tuesday's game vs. the Clippers.

Okafor had previously been listed as probable as recently as yesterday. Okafor was set to start and play heavy minutes on Tuesday and Wednesday, as Joel Embiid has already been ruled out of both contests. We will have to wait for a more complete update from the team prior to Tuesday night's tip-off. If Okafor does not play, Nerlens Noel will likely start at center and see all the minutes he can handle. Richaun Holmes, who has appeared in just one game over the last five weeks, would likely serve as Noel's backup off the Philly bench.

Patrick Patterson (sore left knee) has been upgraded to probable for Tuesday's game vs. the Spurs.

Patterson appears primed to make his return after missing six straight and 10 of the Raptors last 12 games due to a left knee injury. However, it remains to be seen just how many minutes he will play. He will be forced to split minutes with Jared Sullinger, Lucas Nogueira and Pascal Siakam. For what it's worth, the Raps game notes list Lucas Nogueira as the projected starter at power forward and Norman Powell starting at shooting guard in place DeMar DeRozan (ankle).

Russell Westbrook scored 38 points and hit a game-winning mid-range jumper with a couple seconds left in Monday's 97-95 win over the Jazz.

He's an absolute monster. Westbrook recorded his 22nd triple-double of the season with 10 rebounds and 10 assists, adding four steals, one block, three triples and six turnovers. He finished 11-of-29 from the field and 13-of-17 from the line, an incredible feat against one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. Per StatMuse, Westbrook now has the most 30-point triple-doubles (21) in the last 30 years over LeBron James (21) and Michael Jordan (16). Not bad for an All-Star reserve...
Jan 24 - 1:10 AM

Dion Waiters hit the game-winning 3-pointer in Monday's 105-102 win over the Warriors, finishing with 33 points on 13-of-20 shooting.

He scored a season-high 33 points for the second game in a row with Tyler Johnson (shoulder) on the shelf, including 11 points in the final quarter. With just a few seconds left in regulation, Waiters pulled up over Klay Thompson for an incredible fadeaway triple (link below). He logged 33 minutes and added five rebounds, four assists, one steal and six triples, and with Johnson out the next two games, it now makes sense to add Waiters while he's rolling. He had a massive 30.3 usage rate tonight and the Heat play three more times this week, but just keep in mind that his FG percentage can be volatile and his value will take a sizable hit when the Heat get some bodies back.
Jan 24 - 12:16 AM

Greg Monroe returned to form on Monday vs. the Rockets with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Monroe was held to single-digit points and minutes in the teens in his previous three outings, but he broke out of his slump tonight in a big way. He logged 27 minutes compared to 20 for starting center Miles Plumlee, finishing 7-of-13 from the field with one assist and three steals. "I thought Moose [Monroe] was great," Kidd said after the game. "I thought our bench was better today." Monroe has been all over the place this season with one of the most volatile roles in the league, but he's worth owning in standard leagues and could potentially benefit from a possible trade.
Jan 24 - 12:03 AM

Jabari Parker returned to the starting lineup in style in Monday's 127-114 win over the Rockets, scoring 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting.

Before the game, coach Jason Kidd said Parker was benched for the first quarter of Saturday's game for "basketball reasons," but a report by ESPN indicated that he was being punished for violating a team rule that prohibits disclosing locker room discourse to the media. Whatever the case, this is all behind Parker now and he was a stud on Monday, adding eight rebounds with seven assists, three steals, one block and two triples in 39 minutes. Expect another monster performance on Wednesday vs. a 76ers team that will be missing Joel Embiid (knee).
Jan 23 - 11:45 PM

John Henson picked up a DNP-CD on Monday vs. the Rockets.

Henson was in good spirits on the bench, but this isn't the first time this has happened. The last time Henson was a DNP-CD on Nov. 25, he responded with his best game of the season with 20 points, seven rebounds and three blocks on Nov. 27, so maybe coach Jason Kidd is trying to light a fire under him again. Miles Plumlee started and scored 10 points in 20 minutes, while Greg Monroe had 17 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in 27 minutes. Henson is only a stash in deeper leagues for now and it remains to be seen if he will be back in the rotation on Wednesday vs. the 76ers.
Jan 23 - 11:33 PM

Tyler Johnson will not travel with the Heat for Wednesday's game vs. the Nets or on Friday vs. the Bulls.

This is the same shoulder that Johnson had surgery on last season, so the Heat are taking the cautious approach. There's still no word if Johnson will get an MRI, but he said he doesn't think the injury is "major." Continue to stash Johnson if possible and expect Dion Waiters to keep picking up the slack in his absence.
Jan 23 - 11:28 PM

Monta Ellis sprained his right ankle in Monday's loss to the Knicks, finishing with six points on 1-of-6 shooting with three rebounds, three assists and two turnovers in 24 minutes.

He should be considered questionable for Thursday's game vs. the Wolves, but we'll know more about his status after Tuesday's practice. Ellis hasn't been worth owning in standard leagues in weeks, so this doesn't have many fantasy implications. If Ellis misses time, C.J. Miles will get a decent bump and it's worth noting that he's now starting at SG.
