Jared Sullinger said that Rajon Rondo (ACL surgery) has been working out and will "hopefully ... be back by December."

It's important to note that Danny Ainge has repeatedly said Rondo should be healthy for opening night, and Sullinger's off-hand comment isn't an official update to his timetable. The rebuilding Celtics don't have any incentive to rush him back, though, and fantasy owners should take this as a reminder that drafting Rondo is inherently risky.

Chris Paul had a virtuoso performance during a 133-105 win over the Pelicans on Saturday, scoring 20 points with five rebounds, 20 assists, three steals, one 3-pointer and no turnovers.

Where to begin? CP3 and Norm Nixon in 1985 are the only players since 1983-84 with 20-plus points and 20-plus assists in under 30 minutes of playing time. Paul is also the only player in that aforementioned span with a 20-point, 20-dime game and not turn the ball over. This was his first 20-20 of his career and the fourth time he's hit 20 dimes in a game. Paul had LASIK surgery earlier this year, so it's no surprise he has a 20/20 game.
Dec 11 - 1:44 AM

Rudy Gobert scored 17 points with 14 rebounds and six blocks against the Kings on Saturday.

The blocks were a season high and he was just one block short of his career best. He hit 5-of-6 from the field and continues to impress at the free throw line, hitting 7-of-8 freebies. He bumped his free throw percentage up to 67.6 percent on the season and head coach Quin Snyder joked after the game that Gobert might have to start taking their technicals if he keeps improving. He's retuning early-round value right now and we don't see that changing.
Dec 11 - 1:18 AM

Gordon Hayward (finger) returned from a one-game absence and scored 26 points in Saturday's 104-84 win over the Kings.

Based on how he looked Saturday, it's not out of the question that the Jazz may have just rested him against the Warriors on Thursday. Hayward was phenomenal, hitting 9-of-19 shots with seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, three triples and three turnovers in 32 minutes. He's scored 22+ points in ten straight games and the Jazz are off until Wednesday's game vs. the Thunder, meaning his finger should be close to 100 percent if it isn't already.
Dec 11 - 1:10 AM

Cheick Diallo cashed in on an opportunity against the Clippers on Saturday, scoring 19 points with 10 rebounds, one assist and two steals in 31 minutes.

Coach Alvin Gentry certainly endorsed the Cheick today for his first NBA points of his career after logging just seven minutes before tonight. Cheick has a lot of bounce to his game and was able to direct deposit a number of fancy buckets in the post. Anthony Davis (rest) not playing is the big reason Diallo got minutes, but it's easy to sign off on Cheick to possibly get minutes over the underperforming centers. While this is a great line, Cheick is not certified as an add in almost any league. Fantasy owners in super deep leagues can bank on Cheick as a stash after the Pelicans' chances at the playoffs go bankrupt.
Dec 11 - 1:07 AM

Marc Gasol capped his magnificent week with 19 points, eight rebounds, six assists, one steal, two blocks and one 3-pointer during a 110-89 win over the Warriors on Saturday.

While we love what Rudy Gobert did this week, Gasol has to be your Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday. In his four wins this week, he averaged 27.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.5 blocks and 50.0 percent from the field. Big Spain also had a triple-double and added 2.0 treys per night. He is having an All-Star season and has been a top-10 player lately.
Dec 11 - 12:52 AM

Austin Rivers left Saturday's game vs. the Pelicans with a possible concussion and will not return per Clippers PR.

He took a shot to the head and remained down for a couple minutes. Rivers' teammates tried to help him up, but Rivers didn't want to get off the floor right away. After he was up, he needed two people to help him get to the locker room. The Clippers are currently evaluating him in the locker room, so we may get another update shortly.
Dec 11 - 12:33 AM

Jimmy Butler scored 31 points with seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and two turnovers in 38 minutes against the Heat on Saturday.

He lived at the line, making 15-of-16 from there to help get the win. This was his 14th game of the season with double-digit free throws. Tonight's performance moved him to the top spot in the NBA for free throw makes per game at 8.9 -- James Harden is just behind him at 8.8. Butler is a superstar and should have first-round value all season.
Dec 10 - 11:57 PM

LeBron James had himself a day in Saturday's 116-105 win over the Hornets, racking up 44 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds, five 3-pointers, one block and three steals in 42 minutes.

He was only 5-of-9 from the line with five turnovers, but you can't really complain about a line like this. He hit a ridiculous 17-of-24 from the field and became the only player in NBA history with 27,000 career points and 7,000 career assists. This was his ninth career game with 40+ points and 10+ assists which ties him with Michael Jordan, but Oscar Robertson still has a comfortable lead in that regard with 46 games.
Dec 10 - 11:16 PM

Nikola Jokic was fantastic off the bench during a 121-113 win over the Magic on Saturday, scoring 14 points with six rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks in 26 minutes.

While the stats are solid, it doesn't tell the story of just how great he was tonight -- he was +22. Jokic is having more and more offense go through him, making terrific plays all night to get the ball inside and to open shooters. Since his return, Jokic has shot the ball very well with a 60.7 field goal percentage and an 84.6 free throw percentage. Patience is a virtue, folks.
Dec 10 - 11:13 PM

Kenneth Faried bounced back nicely in 24 minutes against the Magic on Saturday, scoring 19 points with 10 rebounds and one assist.

He was a DNP-CD on Thursday and played with a lot of energy. Faried's chance at playing time was due to Wilson Chandler (hip) not playing tonight, so it's tough to tell where he fits in once Chandler is back. He's not really a part of their long-term plans and Juan Hernangomez looked great, so Faried is only a lukewarm pickup.
Dec 10 - 10:49 PM

Wesley Matthews stayed hot on Saturday vs. Houston, scoring 26 points on 8-of-22 shooting.

The Mavericks were blown out by 22 points, but Matthews still played 35 minutes. He added three rebounds, two assists, one steal and five 3-pointers, hitting 5-of-7 from the line as well. Matthews is on an absolute tear over his last five games, averaging 22.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steal and 5.0 3-pointers on 46.2 percent shooting.
