Jazz waive G Jerel McNeal.

He had been learning the point guard position and had a shot to be the third-string option behind Trey Burke and John Lucas. McNeal will likely get a camp invite from another team.

George Hill, Buddy Hield, Justin Jackson, Skal Labissiere and Willie Cauley-Stein will start against the Rockets on Wednesday.

Hill's groin injury from last week was never a big concern, but it nice to see he will be out there. Jackson starting is interesting, but most fantasy owners can wait and see here. Plus, Skal gets the start for Zach Randolph (oral surgery).
Oct 18 - 9:58 PM

Jeremy Lin (knee) will be evaluated on Thursday, but there is "tremendous concern" about his injury, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com.

Oct 18 - 9:54 PM

Damian Lillard, Evan Turner, Moe Harkless, Al-Farouq Aminu and Jusuf Nurkic will start against the Suns on Wednesday.

We're in Game 1 of 82 and already we're going right up until tip before we get the lineup from coach Terry Stotts. With C.J. McCollum set to come back after the one-game suspension, hopefully we'll be back on track.
Oct 18 - 9:52 PM

Jeremy Lin (leg) was helped to the locker room on Wednesday.

It did not look good. Lin went up for a layup and landed awkwardly under the basket. He looked over to the bench for a few seconds, but then was in agonizing pain for a minute before being helped to the locker room. Hopefully we get an update soon, but Lin may have to miss time. Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert would gain run while Isaiah Whitehead would likely be back in the rotation.
Oct 18 - 9:24 PM

Donovan Mitchell started over Rodney Hood against the Nuggets on Wednesday.

It looks like it was just because Hood had to go to the locker room as the game started, so this move may not stick. We'll let you know how both guys do regardless.
Oct 18 - 9:16 PM

Marquese Chriss will come off the bench against the Blazers on Wednesday.

It'll be Eric Bledsoe, Devin Booker, T.J. Warren, Josh Jackson and Tyson Chandler in the first unit. The Suns do not have Alex Len (ankle) tonight, so they'll slide Chriss over to the five for most of his minutes. He has been effective as a center and not going up against Jusuf Nurkic is a plus, so Chriss doesn't lose value with this news. He should be starting in all leagues.
Oct 18 - 8:34 PM

Jamal Murray, Gary Harris, Wilson Chandler, Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic will start against the Jazz on Wednesday.

Despite a point guard "competition" this month, it would have been a major surprise for Murray to lose his job. The Nuggets first unit after the break was one of the best groups in the NBA, so expect him to get minutes around 30. Fantasy owners probably got the Blue Arrow at a good value, so fire him up in all leagues.
Oct 18 - 8:28 PM

JaMychal Green was helped off the court on Wednesday with an ankle injury, and he will not return.

Not good. Green rolled his ankle when he stepped on Dante Cunningham's foot, and two trainers helped him limp into the locker room. We'll update his status when possible, but if he's forced to miss time both Chandler Parsons and Brandan Wright should be asked to pick up the slack.
Oct 18 - 8:26 PM

Ricky Rubio, Rodney Hood, Joe Ingles, Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert will start against the Nuggets on Wednesday.

Hood had a minor neck injury that limited him last week, but he said he felt fine almost a full week ago. After an increased workload in the preseason and added responsibility from the coaching staff, he could have a career year.
Oct 18 - 8:23 PM

Chris Paul (left knee) will not play against the Kings on Wednesday.

This isn't a surprise on a back-to-back set as Paul deals with his sore knee and perhaps a shoulder issue. He wasn't looking for his shot much on Tuesday night and his defense wasn't up to par either. With CP3 out, James Harden figures to handle the ball a ton while Eric Gordon looks to build off a big opener.
Oct 18 - 8:20 PM

Greg Monroe (face) is headed to the locker room.

Monroe got hit in the face and after being briefly checked out on the bench, he went back to the locker room with some trainers. While there was some blood, it didn't look like anything all that serious, and we should have another update soon.
