Head coach Monty Williams said that the intial plan is to bring Tyreke Evans off the bench.

The Pelicans have some depth and considering that Evans is capable of playing at point guard, shooting guard or small forward, it makes some sense to have him star with the second unit. He and Ryan Anderson are likely to be two of the top bench options in the NBA and will still have value in the middle rounds of fantasy leagues.

Klay Thompson scored 21 points during a 96-88 Game 7 victory over the Thunder on Monday, adding five rebounds, one steal, one block and six 3-pointers in 42 minutes.

Both Thompson (30) and Stephen Curry (32) broke the previous record of most 3-pointers in a playoff series. The 3-pointers were the key with the Warriors outscoring the Thunder by 84 points beyond the arc in the last two. On the other end, they held the Thunder to just 12 points in the third quarter, which were the fewest points they allowed in a quarter in these playoffs. As for Klay, he started off ice cold and missed his first seven shots from the field, but has developed a knack for back-breaking treys. Steph may have won the MVP, but Klay was the best player in this series.

Draymond Green scored 11 points with nine rebounds, four assists, one steal, two blocks, two turnovers and one 3-pointer in 40 minutes against the Thunder in Game 7 on Monday.

The Warriors went back to their money-making small lineup in the last two with 12 minutes tonight and 11 minutes in Game 6. On the offensive side, Green wasn't forcing the issue again during this win while his defense was top notch once again. He'll be a huge factor against LeBron James and could be big on the offensive end. The Warriors really attacked Kevin Love in pick-and-roll during the regular season, so that figures to be a popular play in their halfcourt sets. Expect a huge series from Green.
May 31 - 12:25 AM

Andre Iguodala made his first start of the postseason on Monday in a win over the Thunder, playing 43 minutes with seven points, four rebounds, three assists, one turnover and one 3-pointer.

His 43 minutes were the most on the team and it's the first time he's cleared the 40-minute plateau in these playoffs. Iguodala's defense was unbelievable during the last three games as one of the most under-appreciated players on the Warriors. He was the Finals MVP last year for his defense on LeBron James, so he'll be playing huge minutes in The Finals this time around.
May 31 - 12:07 AM

Kevin Durant made 10-of-19 from the field for 27 points with seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers during a 96-88 Game 7 loss to the Warriors on Monday.

He attempted at least 30 shots from the field in the previous two games, but he wasn't looking for his shot at much until late in the game. Plus, Durant took tough shots for basically the entire game with Andre Iguodala playing suffocating defense. He's heading into free agency this summer and this loss will make that a very popular topic in the next month. Durant and Russell Westbrook are close, so he has a very good chance to stay in OKC.
May 31 - 12:03 AM

Russell Westbrook scored 19 points during a Game 7 loss to the Warriors on Monday, adding seven rebounds, 13 assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 45 minutes.

He had some uncharacteristic misses in this game, especially around the rim. Westbrook made just 28-of-76 (36.8 percent) in the three losses with a ton of isolation. Heading into the series, the Thunder shook off the narrative of struggling to close games, but it came back to bite them again with the Warriors beating up on them in the second half in the last three. Westbrook is still 27 and it'll be intriguing to see how he ages. He's a freak, so he could dominate with his athleticism for a long time.
May 30 - 11:59 PM

Stephen Curry was phenomenal during a series-clinching 96-88 victory over the Thunder on Monday, scoring 36 points with five rebounds, eight assists, and seven 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

The MVP lived up to the billing with his best game of the series and the most triples he's hit all postseason. Curry's threes will get all the headlines, but he really got into a groove on drives to discombobulate the OKC defense. His defense was very solid yet again as the Warriors were swarming on the perimeter and were excellent on switching. The MVP will get a few days off before Game 1 of The Finals on Thursday.
May 30 - 11:32 PM

Andre Iguodala is starting for Harrison Barnes in Game 7 on Monday.

It's the right move after Iguodala played arguably one of the best defensive games one can play on Saturday. Iguodala hit 38 minutes on Saturday and should approach 40 minutes again. He'll see plenty of time on Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

The Raptors are preparing to give Jonas Valanciunas a larger role in the offense.

Finally. Valanciunas was Toronto's best player in the postseason before sustaining his ankle injury, and at 24 years old, JV is ready to carry more weight on his shoulders. "Yes he is," GM Masai Ujiri said when asked if Valanciunas was prepared for an increased role. "Even from talking to [Casey] we feel that way, Jonas feels that way, players feel that way." After averaging career bests in points (12.8) and rebounds (9.1), expect another step forward in 2016-17.

Raptors GM Masai Ujiri hinted that re-signing Bismack Biyombo could be a difficult proposition.

"We want to bring them back," Ujiri said of Biyombo and DeMar DeRozan. "Sometimes those things are difficult or challenging." While the Raptors have a very strong chance to re-sign DeRozan, retaining Biyombo—who broke out on a national stage in the playoffs and should receive offers in free agency upwards of $10 million annually—could prove to be quite the task.

Raptors GM Masai Ujiri would not commit to giving DeMar DeRozan a max contract.

Although Ujiri made it clear the Raptors would like to re-sign DeRozan in calling it the team's "No. 1 goal," the GM refused to answer whether or not he was prepared to offer DD a max deal. "That question is for later," Ujiri said. The answer will be interpreted in a number of ways, but the reality is that there is no need for Ujiri to box himself into a corner by definitively answering one way or the other at this time. As is typical in free agency, the marketplace will determine DeRozan's value. Having said that, all signs point to a max deal.

Dwight Howard and the Rockets were at odds over his role during the season.

"I felt like my role was being reduced," Howard said. "I went to [Rockets general manager] Daryl [Morey] and said, 'I want to be more involved.' Daryl said, 'No, we don't want you to be.' My response was, 'Why not? Why am I here?' It was shocking to me that it came from him instead of our coach. So I said to him, 'No disrespect to what you do, but you've never played the game. I've been in this game a long time. I know what it takes to be effective.'" Howard, for his part, admitted his mistake in allowing not getting the ball to impact other areas of his play, but it's easy to understand his frustration in this situation. Given all of this combined with the fact that the Rockets are expected to hire Mike D'Antoni as their next head coach, it would be nothing short of shocking to see D12 back in Houston for 2016-17 and beyond.
