Mike Woodson made no guarantees for Amare Stoudemire's availability for the season opener.

Woodson said Stoudemire is day-to-day and that's a distinction that Stoudemire figures to have quite a bit. The Knicks have been very secretive with STAT and the recently discovered surgery over the offseason doesn't have any sort of positive spin. Stoudemire is far too risky to take in standard drafts and Andrea Bargnani would benefit should the Knicks be without their max-deal man.

Kevin Durant (ankle) led all scorers with 34 points on Sunday, going 12-of-28 from the field and 6-of-7 from the field with 13 rebounds, four 3-pointers, two assists and one block.

Durant tweaked his left ankle during Game 3 on Thursday but showed no signs of the injury tonight, playing 41 minutes in a rare postseason loss. He scored 13 points in the third quarter alone tonight and played all but two minutes of the fourth, helping him earn his 50th career postseason game with 30+ points. With Stephen Curry (knee) still out indefinitely, there will be offensive fireworks every time KD takes the court.
Apr 22 - 6:22 PM

Fred VanVleet (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's Game 4 against the Wizards.

This will be VanVleet's second straight game on the sidelines, which will again translate to more minutes for Delon Wright. FVV said that the pain in his shoulder is "manageable," but the main issue is a "lack of range and strength," and he's having trouble "passing, dribbling, running, fighting through screens." For now, we'll consider him doubtful for Wednesday's Game 5 in Toronto.
Apr 22 - 4:47 PM

Jaylen Brown scored a career-high 34 points on 13-of-24 shooting during Sunday's Game 4 loss to the Bucks, adding five treys, eight boards, three steals and one assist over 41 minutes.

Brown essentially single-handedly kept the Celtics in the game, helping Boston go on a huge second-half surge to bring down a 20-point deficit to just eight heading into the final frame of action, but ultimately, it was not enough to deliver the win. He also went 3-of-4 from the charity stripe to give him a sterling 66.0 true shooting percentage to accompany his 28.4 usage rate, but aside from Jayson Tatum (21 points, two triples, three boards, three dimes and two steals), he didn’t receive much help from his teammates on the offensive end.
Apr 22 - 4:26 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo came through with 27 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two turnovers in Milwaukee's 104-102 win over Boston on Sunday.

The Bucks successfully protected their home court, evening up their first-round series with the Celtics at two apiece, and The Greek Freak came through with some huge buckets in the clutch including a game-winning tip-in with 5 seconds left. He did tweak his ankle during the fourth quarter after coming down on Aron Baynes’ foot, but his ankle didn’t turn all that much and he played through it, so he should be fine for Tuesday’s Game 5 in Boston.
Apr 22 - 3:51 PM

Steve Kerr said that Stephen Curry (knee) won't be coming back "anytime soon."

Kerr did say that Curry has been coming along well, and that he looked good at Saturday's practice, but he still has "a few limitations" that he's trying to work through. The good news is that he hasn't been experiencing any pain in his left knee, and while Kerr did say he's "on track," he wouldn't commit to an official timetable. He's scheduled to be re-evaluated on April 27, but it doesn't sound like he'll be ready for Game 1 of Round 2.
Apr 22 - 2:47 PM

John Henson (back soreness) has been ruled out of Sunday's Game 4.

No surprise here, as Henson was listed as doubtful after sitting out Game 3. Thon Maker gave the Bucks a huge lift in Game 3 with 14 points, five rebounds, five blocks and three triples, and we should see more of Jabari Parker and Tyler Zeller as well.
Apr 22 - 11:29 AM

Ricky Rubio was the best player on the floor during a 115-102 Game 3 win over the Thunder on Saturday, scoring 26 points with 11 rebounds, 10 assists, two steals, one block and two 3-pointers in 37 minutes.

Obviously it's his first playoff triple-double, but he is the first Jazzman to notch one of those since John Stockton in 2001. He was on fire in the first half with 19 points, and he hit a massive 3-pointer at the buzzer to end the third. On the lighter side, Rubio had a man bun today, and it's worth a mention he's put up more points, boards and dimes while being more efficient and posting a 14.5 net rating when he has a man bun compared to without one (H/T SLC Dunk). Hairstyle stats aside, the Jazz are so hot right now.

Rudy Gobert scored 18 points with 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 41 minutes against the Thunder on Saturday.

He had such a huge impact on this game with putting fouls on Steven Adams and just owning the paint on the defensive side. Offensively, he continues to set high screens to set the halfcourt offense, and he picked up five offensive boards today. Gobert isn't going to lead the Jazz in scoring in just about all the games this season, but his presence on both ends makes the Jazz who they are. Don't be surprise to see the Jazz take this series.
Apr 22 - 12:46 AM

Joe Ingles was left open all game against the Thunder during a win on Saturday, scoring 21 points with three rebounds, four assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

Yeah, OKC gets a lot of blame for continuing to leave Ingles open in the corner because they were helping too hard on the weak side. Ingles may not have the prettiest shot, but he made 44.0 percent from deep this year and 44.1 percent from last season. Coach Billy Donovan will be talking to his guys about this one.
Apr 22 - 12:45 AM

Russell Westbrook had a brutal showing against the Jazz on Saturday during a 115-102 loss in Game 3, making 5-of-17 from the field for 14 points with 11 rebounds, nine assists, two steals, one 3-pointer and eight turnovers.

Rudy Gobert's rim protection neutralized Westbrook's driving in a big way, and Westbrook was not at his best against Ricky Rubio or on defensive rotations -- the whole team, basically. Westbrook has struggled down the stretch for two games straight, which is a problem for a guy that sucks up so much usage. OKC is in trouble.
Apr 22 - 12:44 AM

Jimmy Butler scored 28 points during a 121-105 Game 3 win over the Rockets on Saturday, adding seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and four 3-pointers in 41 minutes.

The Wolves are alive as they earn their first home playoff win since 2004. As for Butler, he did tweak his left ankle in the second quarter as he landed on someone's foot going for a rebound. Butler stayed in the game, but he did look a step slow to start the third quarter before really heating up later. Butler has described himself as one of the toughest in the NBA, so it would be a shock to see him have limitations on Monday. We have a series.
