In an interview on NBATV, Nets GM Billy King said Kevin Garnett might not sit in all back-to-back sets.

"We're going to go into the season and let him play," King said. "There's not a strict schedule where [Garnett] is off this day or off this day." King added he'll see how things will evolve with Garnett in the interview. Coach Jason Kidd made it seem more absolute that KG would sit out of back-to-back sets, so the Nets have softened their stance. Still, it's going to be tough to draft Garnett in fantasy because he'll be getting some sort of scheduled rest through the season.

Kevin Durant suffered an apparent foot or ankle injury at the end of the second quarter on Thursday.

It's to the same foot that cost him time to start the year, so this is certainly going to make all of us hold our breath. Durant was remarkably durable before this injury, but there have been about 25 percent of foot fracture patients having a recurring issue. Stay tuned.
Dec 18 - 11:50 PM

Taj Gibson (ankle) is traveling with the team for Friday's game in Memphis.

He missed Thursday after warmups didn't go well, so he has a good chance to play on Friday. The Bulls have plenty of depth in their frontcourt, so there's little reason to play Gibson at less than 100 percent. He is likely looking at a game-time decision in a bad matchup.
Dec 18 - 11:34 PM

Derrick Rose (illness) is not traveling with the Bulls for Friday's game against the Grizzlies.

He could travel on his own, but we would consider Rose doubtful to play. After playing 11 in a row, he's going to miss his second consecutive game. The former MVP is the most annoying player to own and his owners have probably checked for updates more than any other player. Aaron Brooks is worth a look in a sub-par matchup.
Dec 18 - 11:31 PM

Aaron Brooks played 25 minutes off the bench against the Knicks on Thursday with 18 points, two rebounds, five assists, one steal and five 3-pointers.

Derrick Rose (illness) is not traveling with the Bulls for Friday, so chances are Brooks has another game ready to go on Friday. Although, it's not going to be as great of a matchup against the Grizzlies, but he's still worth a look for short-term value.
Dec 18 - 11:27 PM

Jimmy Butler scored a career-high 35 points against the Knicks on Thursday with five rebounds, seven assists, four steals, one block and four 3-poitner.

While Anthony Davis is rolling, Butler is the frontrunner for Most Improved Player. He has completely turned around his offensive game while still playing major minutes and filling up the stat sheet in other areas. Butler is flirting with first round value and is not slowing down. Basically, he is for real and when fantasy opponents try to trade for him, his owners should say, "Don't touch Jimmy!"
Dec 18 - 11:22 PM

Amare Stoudemire made a surprise start on Thursday with 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and four blocks in 31 minutes against the Bulls during a 103-97 loss.

He was expected to rest tonight, but the Knicks needed him to play because of their lack of scoring depth. The Knicks have a back-to-back set starting on Saturday, so his fantasy owners can expect him to sit in one of those games. His owners in weekly leagues will have a tough time using him because of the DNPs.
Dec 18 - 11:12 PM

Tim Hardaway Jr. handed out a career-high five assists against the Bulls on Thursday, adding 23 points, two rebounds, one steal and five 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

It was just like summer league with the lack of talent on the wings for the Knicks tonight. Hardaway Jr. has really come a long way from his catch-and-shoot days in his rookie season and has become a well-rounded scorer with better passing, as well. He'll need to improve a little more in scoring off the dribble, but his output in triples should give him enough value to keep him owned in standard leagues while Carmelo Anthony (knee) is on the shelf.
Dec 18 - 10:39 PM

Lance Stephenson (hip) will not play against the 76ers on Friday.

He did not travel due to his pelvic sprain and is expected to miss at least another game. With Stephenson out, Gerald Henderson, Gary Neal and Michael Kidd Gilchrist will likely pick up some minutes. Neal is likely to benefit most, especially since he closes out several games for coach Steve Clifford. Stephenson's value can't get much lower than this.
Dec 18 - 9:28 PM

Kevin Durant is expected to get minutes in the mid-30s, according to coach Scott Brooks.

He played 35 minutes on Tuesday and attempted 25 shots from the field, so it's probably safe to say he's back. Durant will be in Anthony Davis' tier for the best player in fantasy hoops in no time.
Dec 18 - 9:15 PM

David Lee (hamstring) is expected to return next week.

The Warriors won't be in a rush to bring him back after he's already aggravated his strain in his first game back. Draymond Green Wally Pipp'd him already, so Lee is not going to get minutes over 26 or so. He's worth a stash and perhaps someone in your league thinks he'll be the same player he was last year.
Dec 18 - 9:05 PM

Johnny O'Bryant will start at power forward against the Kings.

He made his NBA debut on Wednesday and he already making his first start. The Bucks are completely gutted up front and have nobody behind O'Bryant and Zaza Pachulia, so he could get big minutes. Of course, he's only worth a look in very deep leagues. O'Bryant joins Brandon Knight, O.J. Mayo, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Pachulia in the starting unit.
