Jose Calderon (left hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's preseason opener against the Pelicans.

He hasn't put in much practice since sustaining a hamstring pull on Wednesday. Calderon's health has been one of his weaker points of his career, but he was second in assists-to-turnover ratio last season and will be a big part of Dallas' offense. The team will get an extended look at Monta Ellis and Gal Mekel tonight.

Blake Griffin scored 29 points with eight rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in a 130-88 win over the Suns on Saturday.

Two games, two wins and two 29-point game games. This is also the biggest win the Clippers have ever had against the Suns -- the Blazers can say the same thing after Wednesday. On top of the increased usage rate at 31.9, the Clippers are running at about nine possessions per 48 minutes faster this year, Griffin is taking more 3-pointers, and BG has been super efficient with a 67.4 true shooting percentage. Although, he may have gone up against two of the worst defenses in the NBA, but Griffin definitely has top-10 upside in all formats.

Patrick Beverley scored 15 points with two rebounds, two assists, five steals and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes against the Suns on Saturday.

He is playing with a chip on his shoulder and has been fairly effective as a scorer. Plus, the up-tempo game is right up his alley and that could even lead to more steals. Beverley has to be owned in all fantasy leagues with his appealing upside for steals and treys.
Oct 22 - 2:09 AM

Eric Bledsoe made 1-of-4 from the field for four points during a 130-88 loss to the Clippers on Saturday, adding one rebound, four assists and four turnovers in 24 minutes.

Only 79 games until we don't have to talk about this team anymore. Kidding aside, this team is one of the biggest messes in quite some time with not one, but two losses of at least 42 points in just three games. After the game coach Earl Watson said "the pace needs to be pushed," which makes no sense. The Suns have a 109.4 pace in three games, which shatters the 2016-17 Nets' NBA-high 103.6. The Suns are so bad that Bledsoe is losing fantasy value because of so much garbage time, but his owners shouldn't sell low after this one. Maybe they trade him, too.
Oct 22 - 2:07 AM

Marquese Chriss rolled his right ankle with seven minutes left in the third quarter and did not return.

He may have stepped on Blake Griffin's foot and hobbled right over to the Suns' bench. Chriss was in some discomfort as the training staff was looking at him, but we don't have any other details. Chriss was actually playing somewhat well before this injury, scoring seven points with one rebound, two steals and two 3-pointners in 16 minutes. His fantasy owners should hang on until we get more info. If he has to miss time, Dragan Bender would be looking at more minutes against the Kings on Monday.
Oct 22 - 1:45 AM

X-rays were negative on Milos Teodosic (foot) and he will have an MRI Sunday morning.

The good news is there doesn't appear to be a clear fracture in his foot, so maybe he dodged a bullet in what has been a nightmare start to the season regarding injuries. If you want to think positive, maybe his injury will be like Rodney Hood, who is day-to-day. While he's out, Austin Rivers, Lou Williams and Pat Beverley will pick up extra minutes.
Oct 22 - 1:08 AM

Jusuf Nurkic scored 17 points on 7-of-17 shooting during Saturday's narrow loss to the Bucks, to go with 11 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two turnovers in 32 minutes.

Nurkic hasn't shot a great percentage through the first three games of the year, as he's been uncharacteristically inaccurate from under the basket, converting on just 33.3 percent of his attempts at the rim. However, there's really no way that trend will continue, and the fact that he's been working with a 30.7 usage rate this season is very encouraging regarding his rest of season outlook. This was his best game so far, but there's still some room to buy-low here.
Oct 22 - 12:44 AM

Evan Turner was productive in his 33 minutes off the bench Saturday, tallying 11 points, seven assists, two boards, one steal, one 3-pointer and two turnovers in a loss to the Bucks.

Turner was the first sub off the bench, and he did a really nice job of helping facilitate the offense while C.J. McCollum or Damian Lillard worked off the ball. His minutes are up this year, which is a trend that should hold with Allen Crabbe no longer a part of the equation, so the stars are aligned for a bounce-back year after a pretty disastrous 2016-17 campaign. Turner won't be much more than a late-round guy, but it looks like he'll be worth owning in competitive 12-team leagues.
Oct 22 - 12:42 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo bulldozed his way to a career-high 44 points in Saturday's 113-110 win over Portland, adding eight boards, four dimes, two steals, one block, one triple and two turnovers in 39 minutes.

Not only did The Greek Freak set a new career-high in this one, but he also came through with two huge defensive stops within the final 30 seconds of the game to truly seal the deal for Milwaukee. Antetokounmpo's freakish combination of size and athleticism has allowed him to dominate in the paint, with 76 of his 115 points through the first three games of the year coming from directly under the bucket on 80.9 percent shooting. He'll be on a lot of championship squads this season.
Oct 22 - 12:40 AM

James Johnson scored 14 points in the starting lineup against the Pacers during a 112-108 win on Saturday, adding four rebounds, eight assists, five blocks and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.

The black-belted forward had a violent jam on Victor Oladipo in this game to make his case for dunk of the year (video in link below). As for his role, coach Erik Spoelstra showed last year that he'll use Johnson off the bench or in the starting lineup, but basically the results will be the same at the end of the day. Last year was no fluke.

Marc Gasol made a career-high 16-of-17 free throws in 36 minutes vs. the Warriors on Saturday, finishing with 34 points, 14 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal.

Zaza Pachulia couldn't handle him and he worked over the Warriors' small lineups all night long. Gasol was limited this preseason by an ankle injury he sustained while playing for Spain in EuroBasket, which may have caused his ADP to slip a bit, but the 32-year-old has looked great while helping Memphis earn a 2-0 start this season. He's a lock for top-40 value when healthy.
Oct 21 - 11:23 PM

Kevin Durant posted 29 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, three blocks, one steal and four 3-pointers on Saturday, before being ejected for arguing with the refs.

Durant was coming to the defense of teammate Steph Curry, who had just been tossed for throwing his mouthpiece, and there's no reason to think he'll face further punishment. He's cruising along with the elite value his owners expected on draft day, including a stunning 14 blocks through three games. Since the 2013-14 season, only Durant (this year) and DeMarcus Cousins (last year) have had three consecutive games with at least 20 points, three blocks and two 3-pointers.
