Nicolas Batum (concussion) will start for the Blazers against the Clippers on Friday.

It took him about a week to go through the NBA's concussion protocol and he makes it back to action with 11 days to spare before the season starts. Batum erupted last season with multiple-category production and there's no reason to think he can't sustain those numbers. He's a second-round pick in standard leagues.

Joe Johnson missed practice on Sunday for personal reasons.

There's no word about a possible injury, but we should have more details on his absence shortly. There's nothing to suggest that Johnson wouldn't be available to play against the Clippers on Monday, but his owners will have to keep their head on a swivel for an update. Alan Anderson and Bojan Bogdanovic figure to benefit the most if Johnson misses any action.
Feb 1 - 12:44 PM

Deron Williams (ribs) practiced in full for the first time since his injury on Sunday.

The Nets still haven't indicated when Williams will return to action, but this a step in the right direction. D-Will is going to be eased into action upon his return, and Jarrett Jack will likely remain in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future. However, D-Will is more than capable of putting up good numbers when he's active, so make sure he's not floating around the waiver wire.
Feb 1 - 12:43 PM

Nick Young (ankle) will be active on Sunday against the Knicks, but coach Byron Scott said that he wouldn't play.

Coach Scott said that he wanted Young to go through a practice before he returns to action, so there's no cause for concern here. Consider Young day-to-day for now, while Wayne Ellington will continue to see increased production in Young's absence.
Feb 1 - 12:36 PM

Carmelo Anthony will play vs. the Lakers on Sunday as expected.

He wasn't listed on the injury report, but his owners will have to verify his status prior to every game due to all the concerns over his knee. Anthony will be a stud almost every time he's active, so feel free to pencil him into all lineups.
Feb 1 - 12:31 PM

Amare Stoudemire (ankle) will not play on Sunday against the Lakers.

There's a chance that he could return against the Celtics on Tuesday, but his role will be too limited to rely upon outside of deeper leagues. Lou Amundson and Jason Smith will continue to fill the void for the Knicks.
Feb 1 - 12:20 PM

Ricky Rubio (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Mavericks.

He has missed the last 43 games due to his ankle, so if he does return his owners should expect some rust. Even though Rubio will be on a minutes limit until after the All-Star break, he shouldn't be floating around any waiver wires. Mo Williams (hip) and Zach LaVine (ankle) are also questionable for Monday, meaning Lorenzo Brown could remain in the rotation. Check back after shootaround on Monday for the latest updates.
Feb 1 - 12:09 PM

Luol Deng (calf) will not play in Sunday's game against the Celtics.

This will be his third straight game on the sidelines, and coach Erik Spoelstra said that while Deng is getting better, he won't be allowed to play until he is 100 percent. Danny Granger and James Ennis will see some increased run with this news, but they are both too unreliable to use outside of deeper leagues.
Feb 1 - 11:36 AM

Tyler Zeller will draw the start over Jared Sullinger for Sunday's game vs. the Heat.

Jared Sullinger was reportedly late to shootaround due to traffic problems, so this isn't a permanent switch by any means. Sullinger should still see plenty of action considering that Kelly Olynyk is sidelined with an ankle issue, so owners can deploy him like they normally would. Zeller is prone to foul trouble, and faces a tough matchup against Hassan Whiteside, so owners in daily leagues should take that into consideration.
Feb 1 - 11:20 AM

DeMarre Carroll will likely have an MRI on his Achilles that has sidelined him for the past two games.

The Hawks don't believe that the injury is serious, but the MRI should be able to provide some more clarity on the injury. We will pass along more details as soon as they emerge, but if Carroll has to miss any more time, Kent Bazemore will continue to play big minutes now that Thabo Sefolosha (calf) is out for 6-8 weeks.
Feb 1 - 9:04 AM

Stephen Curry scored a game-high 25 points against the Suns during a 106-87 win on Saturday with four rebounds, seven assists, two steals, one block and four 3-pointers.

The Suns were making a run to start the fourth quarter and cut the GSW lead to seven, but Curry checked in with seven minutes left and ballooned the lead to 18 in just four minutes of action. The Warriors don't have the best record in the NBA anymore, but they're still arguably the best team in the NBA right now. They'll play the Hawks on Friday, so that should be fun.
Feb 1 - 2:29 AM

Damian Lillard made just 6-of-19 from the field for 19 points against Bucks on Saturday with five rebounds, nine assists, three steals, one block, one 3-pointer and six turnovers.

He had a bad game on Friday and is just 2-of-19 from beyond the arc in his last two games. Lillard looked like he was going to take over after being snubbed from the All-Star Game, but it's been the opposite. He is still taking plenty of shots and that's not going to change, so it's just a matter of time until he turns it on again. There's a good chance that will happen on Tuesday against the Jazz.
