Anthony Davis continued his superb October on Wednesday with 18 points, eight boards, three assists, three steals, three blocks and no turnovers in 32 minutes against the Heat.

He's right at the top of the list with Derrick Rose for players turning heads in the preseason. Davis also got to the line 11 times tonight and his offensive arsenal is quickly moving to elite levels among NBA big men. He does have some injury concerns from last year, but he's locked in as a first-round pick and could be considered as the best big for his tremendous upside.

Donovan Mitchell will start at point guard against the Nets on Friday.

This news was somewhat easy to see from a mile away with Ricky Rubio (Achilles) out, and based on how Mitchell played 32 minutes at point guard in the last three games. He's likely going to play big minutes as Utah tries to climb out of their bad start, so Mitchell could become a very valuable asset. He should be owned in all leagues. Meanwhile, all of the other wings benefit by Mitchell moving over, especially Alec Burks.
Nov 17 - 6:02 PM

Justin Anderson (shin splints) is expected to miss about three weeks.

Even though he was questionable on Wednesday for a shin issue, he played eight minutes in a win. Chances are that playing time set him back and he he dealt with discomfort following that one. The best treatment for shin splints is rest, so hopefully the time off will help him recover. We should see a few more minutes for Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and he could be worth a look in deep leagues.
Nov 17 - 5:58 PM

Domantas Sabonis (illness) has been cleared to play on Friday vs. the Pistons.

He's still managed to hold onto value with Myles Turner back in the lineup, posting 13.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 25.7 minutes over his last four games. He doesn't provide many defensive stats, but Sabonis is doing enough to warrant ownership in most fantasy leagues.
Nov 17 - 5:56 PM

Norman Powell (hip) has been ruled out for Friday against the Knicks.

That means OG Anunoby will be in the starting lineup again and he should be playing around 30 minutes. Plus, the Raptors are really going to have to lean on Fred VanVleet today and should use a lot of two-PG lineups -- they used FVV next to Lowry for 13 minutes on Wednesday. Powell is actually a decent stash now because Delon Wright (shoulder) was taking his fourth-quarter minutes.
Nov 17 - 5:53 PM

D'Angelo Russell underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery on Friday to remove loose bodies.

The Nets have not provided a timetable for his return. Russell's owners should sit tight until we get more information, but Spencer Dinwiddie should be picked up everywhere -- Dinwiddie should be the starting PG going forward and is coming off a 12-point, 11-assist double-double. Nets GM Sean Marks said the plan is for Russell "to return this season," but hopefully they will provide a timetable soon.
Nov 17 - 5:49 PM

Derrick Rose (ankle) will miss at least the next two weeks.

This isn't surprising and the Cavs will just be careful with the oft-injured guard. Iman Shumpert could get some more starts, but Jeff Green ha likely benefited the most because of players moving around. There isn't much to like on adds in fantasy from the Rose news. Also, Channing Frye should play more, so keep an eye on that.
Nov 17 - 5:49 PM

Luke Babbitt (back) and Mike Muscala (ankle) are questionable for Saturday's game against the Celtics.

Babbitt suffered back spasms on Wednesday and did not return. It's also worth a mention he did have back spasms in March, so perhaps the Hawks are extra careful with him. If he's out, the Hawks may wind up shifting Taurean Prince over to the four to allow DeAndre Bembry to play in his return. Tyler Cavanaugh could also be in the rotation after he started the second half on Wednesday.
Nov 17 - 4:50 PM

DeAndre Bembry (wrist) has been upgraded to probable for Saturday against the Celtics.

This is big news for the Hawks and their razor-thin rotation. Both Bembry and Taurean Prince can play several positions, so they're likely going to see a decent amount of minutes on Saturday, especially if Luke Babbitt can't go. Bembry was very impressive this offseason and he's going to be in the rotation on a bad team, so he's an attractive pickup in deeper leagues with some mysterious upside.
Nov 17 - 4:45 PM

Mason Plumlee (core strain) is questionable for Friday's game against the Pelicans.

This is a new injury for Plumlee and it probably happened on Monday with only six minutes against the Blazers. If Plumlee can't play, Kenneth Faried would likely pick up the 10-15 minutes behind Nikola Jokic at center -- Jokic could get in foul trouble against DeMarcus Cousins. Plus, the Nuggets do use two-center lineups at times, so there could be minutes for the perimeter players with Wilson Chandler playing more four at times.
Nov 17 - 4:09 PM

Jonathan Isaac (ankle) is still dealing with swelling and he will not play against the Jazz on Saturday.

He did not practice on Friday and it sounds like he could miss more time. With Isaac out, it's been Marreese Speights logging the minutes behind Aaron Gordon while Mario Hezonja was in the rotation for seven minutes in the last one. Isaac is still a decent stash in deeper leagues, especially because he was playing well before the injury.
Nov 17 - 3:51 PM

Larry Nance Jr. (hand) has been cleared to return to practice.

This is awesome news after his Nov. 2 fracture to his hand. Coach Luke Walton said he's surprised how far along Nance is, so there's a small chance he could slightly beat his 4-6 week timetable. Nance was taking shots on Wednesday with a small brace, so he is almost there. It'll be really interesting to see how Kyle Kuzma fits in here, and Nance has played some center in his time. Nance is a low-end stash for now and Kuzma owners shouldn't worry too much.
