The Suns have picked up Markieff Morris' option for the 2014-15 season.

He'll earn just shy of $3 million in his fourth season, after which the Suns can extend him or give him a $4.1 million qualifying option. It's a reasonable price tag for Morris, whose versatility and 3-point range ensure that he'll be leaned on heavily this season.

Jeff Teague (hamstring) is still listed as doubtful for Saturday's game vs. the Rockets.

Even if he was active, he would have gotten the Patrick Beverley treatment so owners can go ahead and bench him. Consider him day-to-day for now and expect Dennis Schroder to draw another start. Shelvin Mack will also see some extra run as well, and just scored a career-high 24 points on Wednesday. Both players are worth a look in deeper leagues for owners in need of short-term value.
Dec 20 - 12:55 PM

Lance Stephenson (hip) is highly doubtful for Saturday's game vs. the Jazz.

He sat out on Friday against the 76ers, and there is almost no shot that he will play vs. the Jazz. Gerald Henderson will likely draw another start, while Gary Neal will also see a boost off of the bench. Stephenson has upside, but unless he is traded to a more favorable situation he will be really tough to own in standard leagues.
Dec 20 - 12:49 PM

Dwight Howard (shoulder) is probable for Saturday's game against the Hawks.

This is the first we are hearing about a shoulder injury, and it will be interesting to see if it has an impact on his game Saturday. Owners can at least take comfort in the fact that Howard's knee appears to be doing well, but this shoulder injury should cause some concern. Owners may want to check back before tip-off just to be safe, but Howard shouldn't be in danger of missing this one.
Dec 20 - 11:54 AM

Tyreke Evans (knee) said that he will try to give it a go on Saturday vs. Portland.

"It’s been swelling up pretty bad after some games, but it really kind of got me on the road," Evans said. "I just have to keep getting ice and treatment. Just trying to take care of it and get it right." Owners will have to hope that he doesn't suffer a setback if he suits up on Saturday, as the Pelicans have three games in the next four days. Check back before tip-off, but it is looking like Evans has a real shot to play in this one.

Amare Stoudemire (rest) and J.R. Smith (heel) are out for Saturday's game against the Suns.

It is just a scheduled day of rest for Amare, and he should be good to go Sunday vs. the Raptors. On the other hand, Smith is considered doubtful against Toronto, and likely won't even travel with the team, meaning Tim Hardaway Jr. should continue to stay hot. Cole Aldrich will draw the start in place of Amare, and is worth a look in deeper leagues.
Dec 20 - 11:27 AM

Carmelo Anthony (ankle) will play in Saturday's game against the Suns, and is listed in the starting lineup.

This is excellent news for his owners, and coach Derek Fisher also said that he is hoping Melo would be able to play on Sunday. Melo is obviously a must-start option when he is healthy, and should be in for a good game against the up-tempo Suns.
Dec 20 - 11:23 AM

Larry Sanders will return from his one-game suspension on Saturday vs. the Clippers.

He was suspended for Thursday's game against the kings for pushing Nicolas Batum in the back, but the Bucks will be glad to have him back in time to play against DeAndre Jordan. However, Sanders has been very inconsistent this season with averages of 7.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game, so owners may want to bench him until he turns it around.
Dec 20 - 11:14 AM

Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili may be held out of Saturday's game against Dallas in order to rest after Friday's second consecutive triple-overtime loss.

"It's different every night [with the injuries], so it keeps them out of rhythm and we are wearing some guys down," coach Gregg Popovich said. "Timmy [Duncan] is a big worry in that respect and so is Manu [Ginobili]." Duncan played 43 minutes on Saturday, while Ginobili played close to 30, so it is very likely that they will be held out. Boris Diaw and Aron Baynes would benefit the most in Duncan's absence, while Marco Belinelli and Danny Green would soak up Ginobili's minutes. Stay tuned.

Kobe Bryant struggled with fatigue in Friday's loss to the Thunder, finishing with just nine points, eight assists and eight boards in 35 minutes.

He also shot just 3-of-15 from the field and turned the ball over three times on the night. "I did not have my legs tonight," Kobe said. "It’s frustrating and I have to figure it out." While he will bounce back from this performance, it will be interesting to see how coach Byron Scott uses his star player down the stretch, especially with the Lakers rapidly falling out of the playoff race. However, Kobe will likely have to be dragged off the court before he sits out, and owners shouldn't have too many concerns just yet.
Dec 20 - 9:26 AM

Russell Westbrook scored 31 points on 9-of-22 shooting (13-of-13 FTs) with five rebounds, 10 assists and one steal in Friday's win over the Lakers.

Westbrook is producing at a top-5 level in 8-cat leagues since his return and a top-8 level in 9-cat formats. With or without Kevin Durant on the court, he could easily continue this pace and he's currently in the MVP conversation.
Dec 20 - 2:31 AM

Reggie Jackson busted out of his slump on Friday against the Lakers, scoring 25 points on 9-of-15 shooting (3-of-5 3PTs, 4-of-4 FTs) with three rebounds, five assists and one block in 36 minutes off the bench.

Yes, Kevin Durant was out and yes this came against the Lakers, but it's probably just good for Jackson to see the ball go through the hoop. It sure seems like the Thunder are going out of their way to let Jackson know what the pecking order is in OKC now that the guys are back, but tonight's output is a reminder of both his short-term value and long-term value in the event one of the Thunder's big guns gets hurt again.
