Chris Paul scored 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting (1-of-3 from deep, 8-of-8 from the line) with three rebounds, 17 assists and two steals in the Clippers' 137-118 win over the Rockets on Monday.

Fantasy's No. 1 play scoffs at your James Harden and Steph Curry selections as he has taken Doc Rivers' suggestion to get more aggressive under complete consideration.

Jonas Valanciunas played just 17 minutes in Sunday's win over the Nuggets, finishing with seven points, six boards and one steal.

He had a long night and even received a flagrant 1 for elbowing Nuggets center Jusuf Nurkic. Valanciunas deserves a pass for this performance after dropping 22 points and 11 boards vs. the Clippers on Saturday, and he should bounce-back against Portland on Tuesday.
Dec 28 - 11:44 PM

Kyle Lowry erupted for 30 points and 11 assists in a win over the Nuggets on Sunday, adding seven boards, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

It was his ninth double-double of the season, and it was also the fourth time in his career that he scored 30 points with 10 or more assists. Lowry has been a beast this season and should be in the MVP race considering the Raptors are sitting in first place in the Eastern Conference without star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan.
Dec 28 - 11:37 PM

Wesley Matthews tied his season-high with 28 points in Sunday's win vs. the Knicks, making 10-of-21 field goals including a 6-of-15 mark from beyond the arc.

Matthews leads the NBA in 3-pointers made, having overtaken Kyle Korver, and his proficiency from the perimeter is the key to his top-50 fantasy appeal. The Knicks allow the third-most 3-pointers to their opponents this season (9.0 per game) and they are devastated by injuries, so it was no surprise to watch Matthews and his Blazers teammates tee off against them on Sunday.
Dec 28 - 11:36 PM

Nicolas Batum made 6-of-8 shots with five 3-pointers on Sunday, finishing with a season-high 17 points, one rebound, three assists, one steal and one block in only 28 minutes.

The fact that this was Batum's season-high in scoring is a testament to his struggles, as he's averaging the lowest numbers since his rookie season in points (8.8), 3-pointers (1.0), field goal percentage (38.9 percent) and Player Efficiency Rating (12.3). Batum's top-20 fantasy upside makes him an interesting buy-low candidate despite his early-season struggles.
Dec 28 - 11:35 PM

Damian Lillard played in his 196th consecutive game on Sunday, finishing an easy win vs. the Knicks with 11 points, two 3-pointers, four rebounds, six assists and two steals.

In the process, Lillard tied Buck Williams for the third-longest consecutive games streak in Blazers' franchise history. It's a terrific accomplishment under any circumstances, and even more impressive given his enormous workload as the engine of the Blazers' offense. His durability is worth remembering when next year's fantasy drafts occur in the fall.
Dec 28 - 11:27 PM

Cole Aldrich snared a career-high 19 rebounds as the Knicks' starting center on Sunday, while adding 12 points (6-of-16 shooting), two assists, four steals, one block and one turnover in 34 minutes vs. the Blazers.

Aldrich is averaging 12.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.5 blocks over the past four games, and he's well worth a speculative add if you're searching for a big man with rest-of-season upside. There are a few caveats, however, including the fact that New York was without Amare Stoudemire (knee) and Samuel Dalembert (ankle), and Portland was also playing without their starting center and power forward.
Dec 28 - 11:26 PM

Monta Ellis missed the end of Sunday's game after tweaking his left ankle, but he intends to play vs. the Wizards on Tuesday.

"I'm not missing [any] games," Ellis said after the game. "I'll go home and take care of what I need to take care of." The injury didn't look serious and Monta is one of the toughest players in the NBA, so there's every reason to think he'll be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game. We'll include him on the injury report as a precaution, however, and owners should double-check his status in the coming days.
Dec 28 - 10:52 PM

Serge Ibaka scored a season-high 26 points vs. the undersized Mavericks on Sunday, making 11-of-14 field goals with three 3-pointers in OKC's 107-112 road defeat.

Serge didn't block any shots but he added 10 rebounds and his fantasy owners won't complain about this offensive eruption. His scoring is down from last season despite an increase in shot attempts with Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant both missing significant time, so hopefully this will carry over into Wednesday's matchup with the up-tempo Suns.
Dec 28 - 10:31 PM

Dirk Nowitzki shifted to center on Sunday in Tyson Chandler's absence, racking up 30 points on 8-of-13 FGs and 12-of-12 FTs with two 3-pointers, five rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks.

The Mavs' elder statesman racked up those impressive stats in just 29 minutes, helping his team improve to 22-10 with a win vs. the visiting Thunder. Tyson Chandler (back spasms) is questionable to play vs. the Wizards on Tuesday, but even if he sits out it seems unlikely that Dirk would start in the middle vs. Marcin Gortat.
Dec 28 - 10:30 PM

Carmelo Anthony (sore knee) will not return to Sunday's game against Portland, finishing with 13 points and five boards in 19 minutes.

Anthony was clearly in pain and actually asked to come out of the game before half. His knee has been an issue for weeks now and there is no reason for the Knicks to risk his health in a lost season. We will pass along further updates as soon as we know more, but after the game coach Derek Fisher already said that Melo would be questionable for their game on Dec. 31. The possibility of the Knicks shutting him down later in the season will likely increase with this news, and Travis Wear, Quincy Acy, and Tim Hardaway Jr. will all see additional minutes should Melo miss more time.
Dec 28 - 10:15 PM

Corey Brewer scored a season-high 25 points (8-of-11 FGs) off the Rockets bench in Sunday's road loss, while tying his career-high with six 3-pointers in a mere 24 minutes of action.

Brewer is now averaging 16.7 points on 58.1 percent shooting, 3.7 triples, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.7 blocks in three games with Houston. He's averaging 23 minutes off the bench and his current numbers appear unsustainable (he had eight 3s all season with the Wolves), but he's worth a speculative pickup if you're in need of scoring, 3-pointers and steals.
