Kyle Lowry suffered a right ankle sprain and will not return on Saturday.

He was on the court for the last play of the first half, so it's odd that he wasn't able to return to the game after getting his ankle re-taped at halftime. Lowry has dealt with all sorts of injuries, such as a chest injury and problems with his finger, but he hasn't missed any games yet. Dwight Buycks started the second half and is only a speculative add in deep leagues for now.

DeAndre Liggins will move into the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Knicks with J.R. Smith (knee) unavailable.

This will be just the second start of Liggins' career, and while he will see some increased opportunity with the first unit tonight, Smith's minutes will likely be divvied up between Liggins, Iman Shumpert and Jordan McRae with their being no clear winner here.
Dec 7 - 10:38 AM

Marvin Williams (knee) said that he feels "totally ready to do" what he does, and barring a setback, he will play Wednesday vs. the Pistons.

"I don’t know about my normal 25 to 30 minutes, but I feel totally ready to do what I do," Williams said. "I can run and jump. My lungs might actually be the hardest thing to get back." He'll probably be closer to the 25-minute mark as his conditioning likely isn't where it needs to be after spending 10 days on the sidelines, so he's not necessarily a must-start option with 10 games being played tonight. He's also been in a bad shooting slump this season, limiting his standard league appeal.
Dec 7 - 9:25 AM

Derrick Rose (back spasms) is questionable to play Wednesday against the Cavs.

"It calmed down. It’s just spasms. Usually when you have back spasms or back problems, it comes from somewhere else — it could be hamstring, it could be groin, could be something else," Rose said. "[Tuesday night], my right side, my right leg, everything was fatigued and kind of quit. [Wednesday] we'll be able to find out what it is." Rose appears to be headed for a game-time call, but if he's out, Brandon Jennings will likely draw the start and he'd be an option in DFS.
Dec 7 - 9:16 AM

Rudy Gobert scored a career-high 22 points on 6-of-8 shooting in Tuesday's 112-105 win over the Suns.

The Stifle Tower was coming off a 14-point, 17-rebound and five-block effort against the Lakers the previous night and kept his foot on the gas pedal with 11 rebounds and four blocks Tuesday. He also hit 10-of-11 free throws on the night, bringing his season average up to 66.9 percent. You can check out his final dunk of the game in the link below.
Dec 6 - 11:51 PM

Zach Randolph returned from a seven-game absence on Tuesday vs. the 76ers, scoring 12 points with 14 rebounds and one assist in 22 minutes.

He was away from the team following the loss of his mother, so it was great to see him back out there. "It’s important to get back to working," Randolph said. "This is what my mother would want me to do. Don’t sit around and be sad. Go back to work. So I’m doing it for her. My mom was my father, too." Welcome back, Z-Bo. He's worth a look If you need points and rebounds, but his upside in standard leagues is low.
Dec 6 - 11:24 PM

Marc Gasol scored 26 points on 9-of-17 shooting with 12 rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks in 34 minutes in Tuesday's 96-91 win over the 76ers.

This was the second night of a back-to-back set after Gasol triple-doubled on Monday with 28 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, two steals, two blocks and three 3-pointers in a double-overtime win. He played 46 minutes in that contest, so coach David Fizdale said before Tuesday's game that he would play a "serviceable" amount of minutes vs Philly. Apparently that means 34. Gasol is rolling right now and his owners just need to hope that he stays healthy.
Dec 6 - 11:19 PM

Richaun Holmes started at center on Tuesday vs. Memphis and played well, scoring 10 points on 5-of-13 shooting with six rebounds, two assists, one steal and three blocks in 34 minutes.

So much upside. Unfortunately, Holmes is buried on the bench this season and only picked up a lot of run because Joel Embiid was resting and Jahlil Okafor was out with an illness. Nerlens Noel (knee) is also on the way back, so it's going to be tough for Holmes to emerge unless a trade or two opens up some minutes in Philly.
Dec 6 - 11:01 PM

Ersan Ilyasova scored a season-high 23 points with 17 rebounds in Tuesday's 96-91 loss to the Grizzlies.

It was easily one of the lines of the night, as Ilyasova shot 7-of-19 from the field with four assists, two blocks, one steal and four triples in 40 minutes of action. Joel Embiid was resting and Jahlil Okafor was out with an illness, so he took advantage of his extra minutes. He's scored 17+ points in three straight games with a combined nine 3-pointers in that span, so there's no way he should be sitting on any waiver wires.
Dec 6 - 10:51 PM

Rodney Hood (sore right hamstring) will not return to Tuesday's game vs. the Suns.

Not good. He only played 12 minutes in the first half and even made a brief trip to the locker room. This is the same hamstring that he strained last week which forced him to miss a game on Dec. 1, so it sounds like he might have tweaked it. He finished with eight points, two assists, one steal and two triples. Joe Ingles started the second half in place of Hood, but Joe Johnson is probably the better speculative pickup in deeper leagues.
Dec 6 - 10:34 PM

Goran Dragic feasted against the Knicks on Tuesday, dropping 29 points with seven assists, four rebounds, two steals and four triples.

He also turned the ball over five times, but made up for it by shooting 11-of-17 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line. Dragic has been on fire since returning from his elbow injury, scoring 27 or more points in three out of his last five games. He's going to be a fantasy monster until reinforcements arrive.
Dec 6 - 10:26 PM

Elfrid Payton came off the bench, but played 35 minutes and hit 9-of-12 shots, 3-of-3 3-pointers and 4-of-4 free throws for a career-high 25 points, nine assists, three steals and three blocks in possibly the best game of his young NBA career.

Payton had scored 8, 2 and 3 points in each of his previous three games, hitting just 6-of-19 shots, but finally put it all together tonight. Coming off the bench is a buzzkill for Payton, but he's clearly a better player than D.J. Augustin, and, well, that hair! This could be the spark Payton needed to get his season going, and if he was dropped in your league, now might be a good time to pick him up. Just in case...
