Michael Carter-Williams had another stat-stuffing line on Saturday with 21 points, seven boards, 13 assists, two steals, two blocks and three 3-pointers on 9-of-17 shooting.

Considering the shooting line, this was arguably his best outing of the season. Carter-Williams also made all three of his attempts from beyond the arc and the Cavs didn't really honor his shot much, but he did make six of his nine field goals inside the paint. He's making the most of his opportunity and has a great chance for Rookie of the Year.

DeMarcus Cousins (ankle, knee), Rajon Rondo (toe) and Ben McLemore (wrist) are all expected to play against the Nets on Friday.

This isn't the biggest update of the day because all three are probable. Cousins had a couple minor bumps and bruises on Wednesday and it seems like every night he's suffering at least something small. For now, his owners can keep him in their lineups.
Feb 5 - 4:58 PM

Kobe Bryant missed practice on Friday and is fully expected to play on Saturday against the Spurs.

It's his last road game in San Antonio, so it would be a big surprise to see him out. Bryant is on fire in his last two games and he might be someone to use in DFS for the first time.

The 76ers had discussions with the Clippers about Blake Griffin, according to Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio.

OK. First and foremost, a discussion about a trade doesn't seem like much. Secondly, the 76ers dealing for Griffin would be one of the most shocking developments of all time. For now, it's safe to assume this won't happen.
Feb 5 - 3:10 PM

Festus Ezeli (knee) and James Michael McAdoo (toe) are out against the Thunder on Saturday.

The loss of Ezeli doesn't sting too badly with Andrew Bogut healthy for this game. Expect to see a lot of the NBA's best lineup when the Warriors go small, so that helps Andre Iguodala slightly. Ezeli isn't a fantasy option.
Feb 5 - 2:47 PM

Coach Sam Mitchell said the Kevin Martin (wrist), Kevin Garnett (knee) and Nikola Pekovic (ankle, foot) are not close to returning.

"I love the way we're playing right now," Mitchell said. In other words, those guys are basically out of the rotation. This is terrific news for Zach LaVine and Gorgui Dieng. Martin is on the trade block for next to nothing and will need to be dealt to have value.
Feb 5 - 2:30 PM

Jimmy Butler (knee) said he will play against the Nuggets on Friday and is now listed as probable.

This is somewhat surprising after the Bulls said they wanted to be smart with Butler's knee. This isn't an official "will play" piece of news, but he's looking good to give it a go. That makes E'Twaun Moore less appealing tonight while Tony Snell will move back to the bench. We'll confirm this news as the days goes on.
Feb 5 - 2:18 PM

The Clippers reportedly discussed a Blake Griffin trade with the Nuggets according to Mitch Lawrence of Sirius XM Radio.

It's not clear what pieces were involved in the reported talks, but it would likely take a massive offer from the Nuggets to get the ball rolling. Nothing is imminent by any means, so take this report with a grain of salt until we hear something more concrete.
Feb 5 - 2:09 PM

Pau Gasol (hand) is still considered questionable for Friday's game vs. the Nuggets.

He is dealing with a left hand sprain, but it sounds like he will be a game-time call. The Bulls can't afford to lose any more bigs to injury, so Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis could be forced to log heavy minutes vs. the Nuggets. The Bulls could also look to play some small ball with Doug McDermott at the four.
Feb 5 - 1:56 PM

Matt Barnes (hamstring) remains questionable for Friday's game vs. the Knicks.

Given his history with Knicks head coach Derek Fisher, Barnes will do everything in his power to play tonight. He did go through the morning shootaround, so it sounds like he could be a game-time call. If he misses another game, Jeff Green and Tony Allen would benefit the most.
Feb 5 - 12:21 PM

Goran Dragic (illness) is expected to play on Friday vs. the Hornets.

He missed the morning shootaround, but he's simply dealing with a cold and his status really isn't in doubt. For now, it's safe to active Dragic in all season-long lineups. We'll have an update prior to tip-off to be safe.
Feb 5 - 12:14 PM

Hassan Whiteside will come off the bench again on Friday vs. the Hornets.

Coach Erik Spoelstra declined to comment if this would be a permanent move, but the Heat are likely just being cautious with the oft-injured big man. Whiteside played just 17 minutes on Wednesday, piling up 10 points with nine rebounds, one steal and five blocks. Whether he starts or not, Whiteside is a must-start player. As for Amare Stoudemire, he could continue to have some value in deeper leagues moving forward, but he will have to stay healthy.
