Rudy Gay set a team record for field goal attempts with 37 of them in Monday's double-overtime loss to the Rockets, and of course he hit just 11 of them on his way to 29 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, one block and three triples in 49 minutes.

Gay hit a game-tying three to send the contest to a second extra frame, but let's be real, this dude is the last guy you want to play with at the park. His 35.6 percent shooting on a whopping 18 attempts per game is how somebody averaging just under 20 points, eight boards, and two steals per game is clinging to mid-round value on the season. He tweaked an ankle during the game and had it in ice, so we'll put him on the injury report until we learn more.

Coach Gregg Popovich confirmed that Pau Gasol (hand) will play Friday night vs. the Clippers.

Gasol has not suited up since breaking his hand in pregame warmups back on January 19th. The 2016-17 campaign has been a disappointing one for Gasol. He is averaging career-lows in many statistical categories, including points (11.7) and minutes (26.4). He ranks just outside the top-80 overall in nine-category fantasy leagues this season. Gasol's return will eat into the minutes of David Lee, Dewayne Dedmon and Davis Bertans.

Malcolm Delaney will start in place of the suspended Dennis Schroder on Friday night vs. Miami.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Delaney will draw the start at PG on Friday, and he immediately becomes one of the most appealing value plays on the slate. He's priced at or near the minimum on every DFS outlet, and given that he should see upwards of 30 minutes with a healthy usage rate - he's at 21.4% without Schroder on the floor - he's a fine play in any format. As of this writing, he sits as the top dollar per point play in the RotoGrinders projections. Millsap, Bazemore and Hardaway Jr. also see upticks with Schroder off the floor, as all three pick up between 3-4% in the way of usage.

Bobby Portis will start at power forward Friday night vs. the Suns.

Portis has been disappointingly quiet for much of the 2016-17 campaign, but it appears he will get a chance to showcase his talents over the season's final two months after the Bulls traded Taj Gibson to OKC on Thursday. Portis flashed his upside when he scored a season-high 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the Bulls final contest before the All-Star break. He had 16 points and six boards in the only other game he played more than 25 minutes this season. His fantasy stock is rising.

The Hawks have suspended Dennis Schroder for one game (Friday night vs. Miami) for failure to report to the team on time after the All-Star break.

"Dennis has played an important role for our team and been a significant contributor to our success this season," coach Mike Budenholzer said. "We are disappointed that he did not return to the team on time and we have discussed this with him. We look forward to him rejoining the team in Orlando tomorrow night." Malcolm Delaney is expected to draw the start in place of Schroder on Friday night and makes for an excellent streaming and/or DFS option.

Coach Brad Stevens said Avery Bradley (Achilles) will go through shootaround but will "most likely" not play Friday night vs. Toronto.

This is somewhat discouraging news, as Bradley has appeared in only one game since Jan 6. and had been targeting Friday as a return date. However, Bradley did travel with the team and told reporters that he felt "100 percent." He said he hoped to play Friday night but that the training staff might not let him. Marcus Smart will again see heavy minutes in Bradley's absence.

Sixers GM Bryan Colangelo announced on Friday that Ben Simmons will not play this season, as his foot has not yet fully healed.

It's a tough blow for the Sixers, as they were hoping to get at least a glimpse of the first overall pick in the 2016 draft over the final month of the season. Simmons suffered a Jones fracture back in October. There was not timeline given initially, but Simmons had progressed to the point where he was recently participating in limited portions of practice. However, after consulting with team physicians, the Sixers decided it was best to sideline him for the entire season. If you had stashed Simmons on your roster in re-draft leagues, he can now be cut loose.

Willie Cauley-Stein played the game of his life during a 116-100 win over the Nuggets on Thursday, scoring a career-high 29 points with 10 rebounds, one block and three turnovers in 35 minutes.

DeMarcus who? Cauley-Stein showed off some moves in the low post we haven't seen all year. Cauley-Stein was also unassisted for five of his buckets and had three makes outside of the paint, so that's some positive growth as well. He becomes the franchise big man for now and will be playing big minutes as a starter or off the bench. He should be owned in all leagues.

Stephen Curry scored 20 points during the Warriors remarkable 50-point third quarter on Thursday night, finishing with 35 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and six 3-pointers on 10-of-16 shooting.

The NBA All-Star Game, which featured a 192-182 final score, resulted in just one 50-point quarter, while the other seven came in between 39-49 points. And considering there was no defense played in that game, what the Warriors did against the defensive-minded Clippers tonight was amazing. The last time an NBA team scored 50 points in a quarter was 2014 and the last time the Warriors did it was in 1989. Curry was a beast tonight and broke a close game open by going on a crazy run over the last half of the third quarter. The Warriors hit 17-of-23 shots in the third, which was one more field goal than they hit in the entire first half.

LeBron James turned in his sixth triple-double of the season during a 119-104 win over the Knicks on Thursday, scoring 18 points with 13 rebounds, 15 assists, three blocks and six turnovers in 37 minutes.

That's the 48th triple-double of his career with those 15 dimes matching his career best for assists in a triple-double line. Plus, he is now only one triple-double shy of matching his career best for the most he's had in a season. James and the Cavs will be active in the buyout market, which could help LeBron get a little rest here and there.

Courtney Lee (illness) scored a game-high 25 points against the Cavs on Thursday, adding six rebounds, five assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

He was sick this morning, but managed to hit a season high in scoring. Lee has been a sneaky stud in standard fantasy leagues, posting fifth-round value in his last 15 games. While he won't be this good, he should be owned in standard leagues.
Feb 23 - 11:31 PM

Kevin Durant had X-rays taken on his left hand after the first quarter of Thursday's game and then quickly returned to action in the second quarter.

X-rays were negative and it's being called a contusion, so it looks like Durant's owners, as well as the Warriors, avoided a disaster tonight. He's fine.
