Ryan Anderson (foot) is planning to play in Saturday's game against the Sixers.

It would be his season debut and if he's able to play in the game, that would mean he missed 17 days with his fractured toe. Anderson probably won't be completely unleashed after missing so much time. He was second in the NBA in 3-pointers last season, but his role might decrease with Anthony Davis breaking out, Jrue Holiday taking more shots than ex-teammate Greivis Vasquez and Tyreke Evans also adding some punch to the second unit. Of course, he needs to be owned in all leagues.

Jason Richardson (knee, foot) suffered a stress fracture to his right foot and he will be out indefinitely.

He showed up to practice today in a walking boot and now we know why. Without even knowing the specifics, it seems like Richardson is very likely to be out for the season, which opens up minutes for K.J. McDaniels, Chris Johnson and Elliot Williams. K.J. is the only player worthy of your attention in standard leagues.

Larry Sanders took part in a portion of contact practice on Saturday and is building towards playing in the opener.

This is a great sign for his status on Wednesday, and we will continue to monitor this situation closely. Sanders is a candidate to redeem himself after a disastrous campaign last season. He should fall nicely in drafts and you shouldn't hesitate to grab him in the early-late rounds.
Oct 25 - 5:15 PM

Victor Oladipo is expected to miss one month of the season due to his facial fracture.

Most facial fractures tend to cost players 5-7 games, so this is a significant blow to Oladipo's prospects this season. The Magic have yet to announce what bone in Oladipo's face is broken, so we'll be on the lookout for that news. He's having a rough start to his season and is worth a look in the 60-100 range depending on your fantasy format. Evan Fournier is worth a look in deeper leagues.
Oct 25 - 4:22 PM

X-rays confirmed Rudy Gay did not suffer a facial fracture from Friday's game.

He had X-rays at a Sacramento hospital and everything seems fine for the small forward. Gay had a jaw injury at the FIBA World Cup, but it hasn't been an issue until now. It remains to be seen how losing Isaiah Thomas will affect him, but shooting below 34 percent in four of six preseason games is not a great start. He's a target closer to 50 in fantasy drafts.
Oct 25 - 3:50 PM

Derrick Favors (knee) is not practicing on Saturday.

He just has knee soreness and there's no reason to be concerned. He is shifting to center and has already seen his assists go up in the preseason, so there are a lot of things to like the former No. 3 pick of the 2010 draft. He is a good bet to break out this season at 23 years old.
Oct 25 - 3:38 PM

Rodney Stuckey (foot) said he hasn't done on-court work lately and is unsure if he'll be ready to start the season.

He's been out since Oct. 18 and this injury is taking a lot to heal than anticipated. Stuckey is expected to be a major part of the offense, but he's not exactly a must-grab player later in drafts because of a lack of triples and inefficient shooting.
Oct 25 - 2:27 PM

Michael Carter-Williams (shoulder) is expected to scrimmage on Nov. 6.

He is targeting a return of Nov. 13 for game action, but coach Brett Brown didn't seem very optimistic. "I believe that it's not going to take long to play him [once he starts scrimmaging Nov. 6]," Brown said. Carter-Williams hasn't been very positive about his shoulder injury and it's still possible he doesn't hit his target date. He's not a great target in fantasy drafts while Tony Wroten should start off hot.
Oct 25 - 2:24 PM

David West (ankle) did not practice on Saturday.

Beat writer Scott Agness said West's ankle is still swollen while coach Frank Vogel said the team will see how West feels in a couple of days. Basically, his chances of playing on Wednesday are not good, despite being one of the toughest players in the NBA. Chris Copeland and Luis Scola are both worth looks for short-term value.
Oct 25 - 2:20 PM

George Hill (knee contusion) said he wont' know for a couple days if he'll be ready for the opener on Wednesday.

An MRI was unclear to indicate the severity of the contusion. He had a contusion cost him more games than expected last year, so it's certainly possible Hill misses time. He is going to be a huge part of the offense and nothing is structurally wrong, so fantasy owners shouldn't move him too far down their boards.
Oct 25 - 2:03 PM

Brook Lopez (foot) did not practice on Saturday.

There is still some optimism he can suit up against the Celtics on Wednesday, but we don't like his chances. Lopez hurt his foot in a meaningless preseason game and being sidelined at some point almost seems unavoidable. Unless he slides big time, fantasy owners can let someone else deal with him.
Oct 25 - 1:46 PM

Perry Jones III (knee) and Andre Roberson (ankle) did not practice on Saturday.

This is getting ridiculous. While Jones is probably getting a day off, it's still hard to believe how many OKC wings are missing time. Assuming everything is OK, Jones will have some late-round upside in deeper leagues with Anthony Morrow (knee) out to start the season.
