Glen Rice Jr. and Trevor Booker will start against the Nuggets on Monday.

This just goes to show how bad Chris Singleton was over the weekend, and the team still isn't comfortable in giving rookie Otto Porter minutes yet. Rice is worth a look in very deep leagues, but the expectations should be very low. However, Trevor Booker could be a double-double threat tonight.

Jonas Valanciunas attempted only two shots on Tuesday, making one of them to finish with six points, eight rebounds and one block in 27 minutes.

The good news is that he made 4-of-4 free throws and his minutes were limited by foul trouble, rather than coach Dwane Casey's caprice. Valanciunas doesn't always take a lot of shots but when he does he makes them count -- he's taking 5.8 shots per game within 12 feet of the hoop, and his FG percentage (55.3 percent) ranks eighth in the NBA.
Jan 27 - 9:50 PM

Rodney Stuckey finished another start on Tuesday with 22 points, seven rebounds and two assists, making 8-of-16 field goals and 6-of-7 free throws in a team-high 39 minutes.

Stuckey has received more minutes and touches than normal due to C.J. Miles' absence the past two games, something owners should bear in mind when evaluating him as a pickup. George Hill's minutes will eventually creep north of 20 per game, further restricting Stuckey's upside, and there should be free agents with better long-term outlooks on most waiver wires.

Dwyane Wade injured his hamstring during Tuesday's game against the Bucks and will not return.

It's important to note that this injury occurred to his other hamstring, and not the one that cost him two games earlier in the month. Judging by Wade's body language, it looks like Wade could see some additional time on the sidelines until he is at or close to 100 percent. The Heat don't have a true backup shooting guard, so Mario Chalmers, Shabazz Napier and Norris Cole could see big minutes in the backcourt in the short-term. Wade finished tonight's game with 12 points, one board, four assists and two steals.

Paul Pierce (toe) will not play vs. the Lakers on Tuesday.

It makes sense for Washington to rest their veteran against the lowly Lakers, and Otto Porter typically starts when Pierce can't suit up. Rasual Butler and Martell Webster may also see an uptick in their playing time, but Porter is the most likely target for opportunistic owners in daily leagues.
Jan 27 - 9:05 PM

Jimmy Butler (illness) will not play on Tuesday against the Warriors.

This is a tough blow for his owners but Butler should be fine with a couple days rest. We will go ahead and consider him questionable for Thursday's game against the Lakers, but in the meantime we would expect Aaron Brooks and Kirk Hinrich to see an uptick in minutes in Butler's absence.
Jan 27 - 9:05 PM

Ersan Ilyasova will not return to Tuesday's game due to a sore right groin.

Anyone surprised by this news hasn't been paying attention to Ilyasova's injury history, as he's missed an average of 16.0 games over the past four seasons. We're considering him questionable to play vs. the Magic on Thursday but a few DNPs should be anticipated by owners, as groin injuries are notoriously slow to heal. Johnny O'Bryant may return to the starting lineup for any games Ilyasova sits out, though Jared Dudley took his place during the second half on Tuesday.
Jan 27 - 8:53 PM

An MRI taken on Tuesday night confirmed that Nick Young suffered a moderate ankle sprain, and he is being considered questionable for Thursday's game vs. the Bulls.

He obviously won't play tonight, but it's definitely a good sign that the injury isn't too serious. Young was benched down the stretch during Sunday's game due to a lack of effort, but the Lakers are obviously going to need his scoring punch with the news that Kobe Bryant (shoulder) is likely out for the season, so owners should consider holding onto him. Expect Wayne Ellington, Jordan Clarkson and Jeremy Lin to benefit in the short-term.
Jan 27 - 8:52 PM

Tony Allen (ankle) will not play in Tuesday's game against Dallas.

Allen was recently benched in favor of Jeff Green, so this news certainly doesn't help his already limited value. Expect Courtney Lee, Jeff Green and Vince Carter to pick up the slack for Memphis on Tuesday.
Jan 27 - 8:25 PM

Mike Conley (wrist) will dress for Tuesday's game against Dallas, but he is not expected to play.

Owners should probably keep Conley on the bench tonight, as he will likely serve as Emergency depth for the Grizzlies. Beno Udrih will draw the start in his absence, and should be considered in most leagues for owners in need of short-term value. Nick Calathes, Courtney Lee and Vince Carter should all benefit as well.
Jan 27 - 8:03 PM

The Pistons are emerging as a suitor for Norris Cole.

The Pistons just lost Brandon Jennings (Achilles) for the season, so they could definitely use some depth in their backcourt. Cole has found himself out of the rotation in Miami, as they have opted to go with Mario Chalmers and Shabazz Napier instead. It probably wouldn't take much for the deal to work, but the Hornets are also said to be interested in Cole. We will continue to follow this story closely, but owners in standard leagues can safely leave Cole on the wire for now, as he likely wouldn't start no matter where he ends up.
Jan 27 - 7:21 PM

The All-Star Slam Dunk contest will include Mason Plumlee, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Oladipo, and Zach LaVine.

It's definitely an intriguing group to watch this season, but it's no secret that the dunk contest has lost a lot of steam in recent years, so hopefully these players turn that around. Plumlee, Giannis and Oladipo have been must-own players this season, but rookie Zach LaVine has had a tough time adapting to life in the NBA. LaVine should be in his element for this contest though, and should be considered to be the favorite to win the competition.
