Kevin Love hit 15-of-27 shots and 8-of-9 3-pointers on his way to 42 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and a steal in Friday's tough loss to the Spurs.

Love has five 40-point games, passing Kevin Garnett's four for the franchise lead in 40-point games. He's killing it right now, averaging a ridiculous 27.5 points, 14.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 4.0 3-pointers over his last four games, shooting 44 percent from the floor and 90 percent from the free throw line. If you want to sell high, be our guest, but you better get at least two studs coming back your way if you're brave enough to move him.

Carmelo Anthony (knee) will start on Sunday vs. Portland.

There was some fear that he would be rested considering he said that his knee was sore after logging 46 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Kings, but the Knicks are going to roll him on out there. Fantasy owners will be wise to get Melo in all active lineups, but should really think about trading him due to the looming possibility of the Knicks shutting him down for the season.

Amare Stoudemire (knee, rest) will not play in Sunday's road game vs. the Blazers.

The only good news for New York is that Carmelo Anthony (knee) will suit up despite playing 46 minutes on Saturday. Cole Aldrich and Jason Smith will start in the Knicks' backcourt with help from backups Quincy Acy and Travis Wear, but coach Derek Fisher has no choice but to play more small lineups than usual. Stoudemire is day-to-day, leaving him questionable for Wednesday's road game in L.A.

Kevin Love said on Sunday that Kyrie Irving (knee) could miss another game or two.

This is a tough blow for Irving, as he has had a terrific season so far. We will consider him questionable for Tuesday's game vs. the Hawks, but it looks like the Cavaliers will opt to rest their star point guard for now. If Irving sits, expect Matthew Dellavedova to continue to start with Dion Waiters seeing extra playing time off of the bench.
Dec 28 - 7:43 PM

LeBron James took a hit to his left quad during Sunday's game, but returned to finish with 17 points, two 3-pointers, 10 rebounds, seven assists, one steal and seven turnovers.

The turnovers are rough and LBJ also shot 5-of-19 from the field in Cleveland's disjointed loss to the lowly Pistons, but at least his quad injury doesn't sound serious. We're leaving him off the injury report and owners should expect him to play in Tuesday's game in Atlanta -- we'll let you know if his status changes.
Dec 28 - 7:37 PM

J.J. Barea will start for Dallas against the Thunder on Sunday.

Tyson Chandler is sidelined for this game due to back spasms, so coach Rick Carlisle opted to go small by inserting Barea into the lineup. However, Barea's value will be limited to deeper leagues for owners in need of short-term value, and owners in standard leagues can look elsewhere. He is averaging just 7.3 points and 3.4 assists in 16 minutes per game this season, so there is nothing to get excited about here.
Dec 28 - 7:33 PM

Andre Drummond lit up the Cavs on Sunday for 16 points (8-of-12 FGs, 0-of-2 FTs), 17 rebounds, one steal and five blocks in 34 minutes of action.

Cleveland's interior defense is as soft as pudding without Anderson Varejao (Achilles), but Drummond has been on a roll regardless of his opponent over the past few weeks. Foul trouble is the only thing that's been slowing him down, though as usual owners must accept his atrocious free throw numbers -- he's shooting 30.8 percent on 5.2 attempts over the Pistons' past five games.
Dec 28 - 7:24 PM

LaMarcus Aldridge (illness) will not play on Sunday vs. the Knicks.

This will be third game missed out of the last four meaning the upper respiratory illness he has must be pretty serious. Owners need to have a backup plan ready, and should consider Aldridge day-to-day moving forward. It is impossible to predict who will start for Portland, but Thomas Robinson started in place of him on Friday but is only worth a look in deeper leagues.
Dec 28 - 7:19 PM

Chris Kaman will play on Sunday vs. the Knicks.

He missed Friday's game because his wife gave birth to their child, but Kaman will be back in action against a weak Knicks team. Kaman is currently coming off of the bench for Portland, and his value is limited to deeper leagues until coach Terry Stotts decides to give him a bigger role.
Dec 28 - 7:17 PM

Tyson Chandler (back spasms) will not play Sunday vs. OKC.

This injury is coming out of nowhere, but that is the nature of back spasms. With Chandler unavailable Dirk Nowitzki, Charlie Villanueva, and Greg Smith will get all the run they can handle. Villanueva has been playing well lately, scoring 13, 18, and 14 points in his last three outings, and he looks like a quality plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Head coach Rick Carlisle said Chandler's injury is not considered serious, so we'll consider him questionable for Tuesday's game vs. Washington.
Dec 28 - 5:58 PM

Josh Smith will start at power forward for Sunday's game vs. the Spurs, sending Donatas Motiejunas to the bench.

Smith was promised a starting job upon signing with Houston, so it was only a matter of time (in this case one game) until he overtook Motiejunas for the starting gig. Donatas was only able to put up four points and six rebounds during his last game, and with the demotion to the bench, he can probably be cut in most leagues.
Dec 28 - 5:48 PM

Gregg Popovich said that a recent MRI taken on Tony Parker's ailing hamstring looked positive, but he remains without an official timetable to return.

It sounds like Parker isn't going to be sidelined much longer, and we'll be monitoring his status closely. For now, Cory Joseph will continue to start at point guard for the Spurs, and he'll provide some short-term value as long as Parker is out.
