Ricky Rubio was scoreless in 39 minutes vs. Chris Paul and the Clippers, but he did finish Sunday's road loss with 12 assists.

This was his first game with double-digit dimes since late November, which takes the sting out of his fourth straight scoring dud. Backup PG J.J. Barea was able to provide some scoring punch, at least, chipping in 12 points with two 3-pointers in 25 minutes of action.

Jason Thompson was traded to the Warriors on Friday in exchange for Gerald Wallace.

He will finally get to play on a winning team after playing ever game in his career with the Kings. Thompson is likely out of the rotation with the Warriors and will have to beat Marreese Speights and/or Festus Ezeli for playing time.

The Knicks have reached agreement on a one-year deal with Sasha Vujacic.

The Knicks have been in discussion with the eight-year veteran and they'll have him in camp. He played just 10 minutes with the Clippers in the 2013-14 season and was with the Nets back in 2011. He won't be in the rotation.

According to Bulls writer Sam Smith, Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah are unlikely to start together next season.

To be clear, new Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg hasn't revealed his plans for the upcoming season, but we do know that he wants his team to play at a faster pace. The pairing of Gasol and Noah wasn't an ideal combination last season, and it's possible that Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic could be candidates to start at PF, with Gasol having the upper hand on Noah for the starting center slot. This is all speculation, but it's definitely worth keeping an eye on heading into training camp because Noah's value would take a hit with a demotion to the bench.

The Thunder will sign F Josh Huestis to a four-year deal at the rookie scale.

There have been numerous reports that the Thunder were saving their final roster spot for Huestis, and now it is finally official. Huestis spent the entire 2014-15 season in the D-League and put up averages of 10.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists, and he likely won't be in the rotation next season on a deep Thunder squad. Huestis can be ignored in just about all leagues.

The Dallas Mavericks have reached an agreement to sign Tunisian center Salah Mejri to a partially guaranteed three-year deal.

Mejri played with Real Madrid last season and averaged 4.3 points and 2.1 boards in 9.2 minutes per game, but the 7'1", 245 pound center does have good size and excels at the pick-and-roll, so it's a decent signing for Dallas. Zaza Pachulia is penciled in as the starting center, but Mejri could emerge as the primary backup because Satnam Singh and Jarrid Famous likely aren't ready to contribute.

Stan Van Gundy indicated that Stanley Johnson could play some shooting guard next season.

Johnson is certainly a versatile wing, so this is interesting to say the least. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jodie Meeks will soak up a lot of minutes at SG, but Johnson's value would see a boost if he does see some action at SG considering Marcus Morris is expected to start at SF. Johnson averaged 16.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game on 57.7 percent shooting from the field during the summer league, but he is going to have to fight for his minutes during training camp. Don't be surprised if Johnson ends up playing some PF either, as it's obvious that small-ball lineups are becoming a major trend in the NBA.

According to Jerry Colangelo, Paul George (calf) will be participating in Team USA's minicamp this August.

"It will be great to see him in a USA uniform," Colangelo said of George. "With as little as we are going to do, it’s going to be a great way to come back. It’s not a competitive camp. Really, it’s a show and a sign that you’re interested in USA Basketball and wanting to continue to represent your country in 2016." George suffered a brutal leg injury playing for Team USA last summer, but it will be great for his confidence if he participates in the camp. It should be noted that the camp is going to very light, but it's still a good sign that George is making good progress.

Flip Saunders said that Andrew Wiggins and Shabazz Muhammad could see some time at PF in small-ball lineups next season.

"Oh, no, he can still play it," Saunders said in regards to Muhammad playing some PF. "We can play Wiggins there. We have a lot of depth and talent, but also a lot of flexibility. Two years ago, we didn’t have that. We were locked into playing just one way." This speaks to the versatility of both players, but there may not be enough minutes to go around for Muhammad to be a reliable asset in standard leagues. As for Wiggins, the Wolves will likely give him all the run he can handle and he should be able to build off last season in which he averaged 20.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks on 44.6 percent shooting from the field after the break. Wiggins has also been working on his ball-handling skills, so it's possible that we will see him run the pick-and-roll a lot more this season.

Flip Saunders hinted that Karl-Anthony Towns could start at center next season since Nikola Pekovic (Achilles) is still hurt.

When asked if Towns would be the starting center Saunders said, "Well [Pekovic] is still hurt. And we have another guy who isn't bad in Gorgui Dieng." Saunders also added that Towns' versatility will allow him to play multiple positions. "It doesn’t matter. He’s a player. Good teams have guys that can play multiple positions. It makes them harder to guard. Besides, it’s not what position you play. It’s what position you can guard. Some nights, Towns will guard power forwards and [Kevin Garnett] will guard centers. Some nights, it will be the other way around." Saunders is still holding his cards close to his chest, but Towns should see plenty of run regardless of what the first unit looks like.
Jul 30 - 2:26 PM

Flip Saunders confirmed that Kevin Garnett will be the starting PF next season.

"He’s gonna start. That’s who he is. KG is a starter," Saunders said. "He’s the best power forward on our team, actually. No one rebounds better. He’s the best help defender. No one communicates better. He knows the offense, and he can pass it." Garnett is only going to see around 20 minutes per game and should also have plenty of maintenance days, so KG still won't be an asset in standard leagues.
