Celtics big man Kelly Olynyk set a new career-high with 21 points vs. the Hawks on Tuesday, making 8-of-10 FGs with three 3-pointers, four assists and one block in just 24 minutes.

Boston blew a first-half lead and they were struggling in the second half until their bench gave them a huge lift, led by Olynyk and Kris Humphries (18 points, 10 rebounds). This is only of temporary interest unless Jared Sullinger (hand/wrist) misses any games, but at the moment that doesn't seem likely.

Nicolas Batum handed out a season-high 12 assists during a 125-120 overtime loss to the Wolves on Saturday, adding 15 points, eight rebounds, three steals, one block and three 3-pointers.

The offense went through Batum to make him more of a passer, which helped keep down his somewhat inefficient ways. The inconsistency has been a factor for Batum on the scoring side of things for most of the season. In his previous games, Batum had just 10.0 percent of his shots at the rim while he’s only made 32.8 percent on midrange. He’s posted sixth-round value on the year.
Dec 3 - 10:12 PM

Frank Kaminsky bounced back in a big way against the Wolves on Saturday, scoring 21 points with nine rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers.

After scoring a combined three points in his previous two and making just 1-of-15, he was on the other end of the spectrum. Kaminksy scored his first eight points in the first three minutes and kept it going for his 31 minutes. Marvin Williams (knee) is going to miss at least one more and likely more time beyond that, so hopefully Frank can keep it going. He's worth a look.
Dec 3 - 9:59 PM

P.J. Tucker will start at small forward against the Warriors on Saturday.

He'll start opposite Kevin Durant. Good luck, Mr. Tucker.
Dec 3 - 9:30 PM

Emmanuel Mudiay, Will Barton, Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried and Jusuf Nurkic will start against the Jazz on Saturday.

Coach Mike Malone was not happy about Friday's beatdown, but he'll roll with the same starters. If the Jazz hit a bunch of threes, there could be a lot of benching going on. Gallinari has played a ton of minutes and looked healthy in his last two.
Dec 3 - 8:54 PM

Jose Calderon (right hamstring) will not return to Saturday's game.

He was feeling a lot of discomfort, was checked out near the bench for a couple minutes and the training staff took him to the locker room. Calderon has dealt with hamstring strains throughout his career, so he's almost certainly going to miss time. With D'Angelo Russell (knee) also out, there will be plenty of minutes going to Marcelo Huertas now while Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams may pick up a little more work.
Dec 3 - 8:42 PM

Goran Dragic, Wayne Ellington, Rodney McGruder, Josh McRoberts and Hassan Whiteside will start against the Blazers on Saturday.

The Heat need a lot of help on the wing, so they'll be getting plenty of minutes from Ellington and McGruder. Ellington has the better upside for his higher usage and 3-pointers.
Dec 3 - 8:39 PM

Rodney Hood (hamstring) will get the start against the Nuggets on Saturday.

He'll join Dante Exum, Gordon Hayward, Boris Diaw and Rudy Gobert in the first unit. Hood went through shootaround and there's no talk of him being limited, so get him back in your lineup. Joe Johnson will move back to the bench while Joe Ingles also takes a hit here.
Dec 3 - 8:33 PM

Deron Williams (calf) will start against the Bulls on Saturday.

He had his minutes increase in his last game, so Williams could get over 30 again tonight. He's a hold while he's healthy, but he's one of the most injury-prone players in the NBA.
Dec 3 - 8:32 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo was up to his old tricks during a 112-103 victory over the Nets on Saturday, scoring 16 points with 10 rebounds, six assists, two steals, five blocks and one 3-pointer in 35 minutes.

That is his second 5x4 in his last three and third in his last six. Antetokounmpo matched his career high in blocks and his 2.2 per game on the year makes him just one of five players above the 2.0 plateau (Davis, Gobert, Whiteside and Turner). He's an incredible shot blocker with his wingspan and is a rim protector quite often, so blocking two per game could definitely happen this year. He's one of the most fun players to own in a long time with first-round value to go with it.
Dec 3 - 8:29 PM

John Henson scored 20 points in 27 minutes against the Nets on Saturday, adding seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks.

What? Coach Jason Kidd is being consistent with his minutes at the five? Henson has played 25.5 minutes per game in his last four with fantastic averages of 14.8 points, 7.8 boards, 1.5 assists, 3.0 blocks and 0.5 steals. We all know Kidd can change his rotation as often as he changes his shirt, but Henson has to be owned everywhere now.
Dec 3 - 8:16 PM

Nikola Jokic (wrist) is expected to be out at least the next three games.

Ouch. Just as Jokic turned the corner, he's now going to miss at least four games with his sore wrist. The new timetable means the soonest he can return would be Thursday against the Wizards. With Jokic out, the Nuggets will really need Jusuf Nurkic to play better while Darrell Arthur, Kenneth Faried and Juan Hernangomez could get more playing time. Jokic's owners have to hold him.
