Courtney Lee handled the point-guard duties for the Grizzlies down the stretch against the Wolves on Friday, finishing with 16 points, five boards, one assist, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes.

With Mike Conley (ankle) going down, Lee ran the offense and did a solid job. He's done this before, so it's not a big surprise. The Grizzlies really don't have a reliable backup point guard and Lee will likely continue to be the primary ball-handler on Saturday and perhaps beyond. He should be owned in all standard leagues.

The Bulls are negotiating a five-year deal with Fred Hoiberg to become their new head coach.

The expectation is that a deal will be done in the middle of the upcoming week. According to this ESPN report, sources say this deal is "all but complete." Hoiberg will be the second former Iowa State coach to head over to coach the Bulls. Of course, Chicago will be hoping this time around goes better than it did with Tim Floyd.

The Knicks have been "enamored" with Kentucky forward Trey Lyles, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News.

Isola, a plugged-in writer for years, is citing a team source for this scoop, so it's not something we should dismiss. The Knicks are really in a tough spot because there are a number of possibilities for them at four. We've heard they like Justise Winslow and Emmanuel Mudiay could be an option, too. As for Lyles, the 6'10 big man will likely go in the top 10. Of course, the Knicks would probably want to trade back.

Coach Steve Kerr said "all is going well" with Klay Thompson (concussion) and expects him to be ready for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

There's no word of if he went through the protocol yet. Once he's symptom free, he'll do some work on a stationary bike before doing more rigorous exercise. For now, it sounds like Klay should be ready to play with time to spare.

The Memphis Grizzlies may have interest in Greg Oden, and they could bring him to a free-agent camp in June.

Since pleading guilty to felony battery charges in December, Oden has been training with Ohio State's coaching staff and he has reportedly lost a lot of weight (down to 280 pounds in March). Oden was teammates with Mike Conley at Ohio State and the two are still close friends, so there could be some mutual interest between the two sides. The former No. 1 pick in the 2007 draft is as injury prone as they come, and he likely wouldn't be able to handle more than a limited role regardless of where he lands. We will track this story closely, but Oden isn't on the fantasy radar.

The Magic and Scott Skiles have agreed to a four-year deal.

The Magic were expected to make a run at Tom Thibodeau, but they're all set with their former point guard who holds the NBA record for most assists in a game. Skiles hasn't run the tightest rotation and former player Stephen Jackson said he's "more of a college coach." Regardless, the Magic could use a former player to give them some guidance. Victor Oladipo and Nikola Vucevic are safe to draft, but we're slightly less bullish on the others due to the volatile rotation.

Mario Chalmers had arthroscopic surgery on Friday to repair an inflamed plica in his right knee.

It was just a 20-minute procedure and Chalmers is going to begin rehabbing immediately. Obviously, he'll be ready to go for training camp in the fall. Chalmers had an up-and-down year, averaging 10.2 points, 2.6 boards, 3.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.9 treys. He'll be a late-round flier in fantasy leagues next season.

Klay Thompson was diagnosed with a concussion on Friday.

His agent said he didn't have a concussion yesterday, but his agent isn't a neurologist. The Warriors said Klay had "extensive examinations" over the past two days, including neurological tests Friday morning. Under the NBA's concussion protocol, Klay will not be allowed to have court activity until he is not showing any symptoms. With six days off before Game 1, Thompson should be ready.

Kyrie Irving (knee) said that his health has been steady since beating the Hawks in the Eastern Conference finals.

Irving went on to say that he expects to start on Stephen Curry defensively in the Finals, but added that it will be a team effort in containing the 2014-15 league MVP. Cleveland was the best team in the league at defending the 3-point line during the postseason, holding their opposition to just 28.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc, but the Warriors were the second-best team from distance during the playoffs shooting 38.0 percent from deep. After a rather lackluster Conference Finals, NBA fans should be in for a show during the Finals.

Dwight Howard will be suspended one game without pay for collecting his fourth Flagrant Foul points during the 2015 postseason.

Howard's suspension will be served during the first game of next season in which he's eligible and physically able to play. He collected his fourth Flagrant Foul point when he extended his forearm into Andre Iguodala's neck during the closing minutes of Game 5 in the Western Conference Finals. Originally ruled as a common foul, the league upgraded the play to a Flagrant Foul 1 upon official review, deeming the contact to have been unnecessary.
May 29 - 11:21 AM

The Magic have reportedly begun contract negotiations with Scott Skiles, and they hope to come to terms on a deal by Friday evening.

Skiles has long been rumored to be the frontrunner for the Orlando head coaching gig, so this report is far from shocking. He will obviously no longer be in the running for New Orleans’ head coaching opportunity, meaning Alvin Gentry and Jeff Van Gundy come to the forefront, with Tom Thibodeau serving as a bit of a dark horse candidate (although Thibs is said to be uninterested). Skiles isn't a fantasy friendly coach, so owners of Orlando players may be in for a bumpy ride next season.

Mychal Thompson, Klay Thompson's (concussion-like symptoms) father, speculates that his son should be cleared to play sometime before the NBA Finals.

When Mychal was asked to describe the difference in Klay a day after his injury, Mychal responded, "Antarctica to the jungles of Brazil." When pressed further to speculate on his son's availability for the Finals, Thompson stated: "I'm not a doctor, but if I'm going to guess in layman's terms, yeah I think [he'll be cleared for the Finals.] He seems to be feeling better by the hour." Thompson is scheduled to meet with the Warriors medical staff on Friday, after which we'll likely have another update on Golden State's sniper.
