Khris Middleton hit a season-high five 3-pointers in Monday's win over the Knicks, finishing with 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting, four rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes.

It was sort of strange that he couldn't get more run when he was red hot, but this is Larry Drew we're talking about here. Caron Butler left with a high ankle sprain tonight and Middleton was already playing well enough to be owned, and he's about as close as one can get to being a must-own player in regular formats without being one. If Drew had any sort of consistency, we'd slap that tag on him right away.

Joel Embiid, who was a game-time call with a sore back, played a career-high 39 minutes and went off for 28 points, 12 rebounds, a career-high eight assists, a block and a 3-pointer on 8-of-16 shooting in Tuesday's 118-112 overtime win against Minnesota and Karl-Anthony Towns.

He also hit 11-of-12 free throws, two of which were clutch and helped send the game to overtime with 14 seconds left in regulation. And his 3-pointer put the Sixers up seven with 1:30 left in overtime. He scored seven in the extra period. There were eight ties and 15 lead changes in the fourth quarter of this game, which turned out to be the game of the night. The high minutes are a bit of a concern after Embiid missed his last two games with a gimpy back and he received constant treatment all night, but looked incredible, as usual. The Sixers are off until Friday and host the Thunder in that one, so hopefully Embiid's back will have time to rebound. How can you not Trust the Process?
Dec 13 - 1:30 AM

Richaun Holmes had 15 points, 11 rebounds, a block and a 3-pointer on 6-of-11 shooting in 33 minutes and a start in Tuesday's win over the Wolves.

The Sixers went big against the Wolves, who start Karl-Anthony Towns and Taj Gibson, and it paid off for Holmes, who replaced Tim Luwawu (and injured Robert Covington) in the starting five. He might come off the bench in the next one, but he's rolling right now, averaging 13.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks and 0.5 3-pointers on 54 percent shooting in 25 minutes a night over his last four. He warrants a pickup in most leagues, assuming you have a player you won't miss if you cut him.
Dec 13 - 1:16 AM

Jimmy Butler hit 15-of-33 shots, 3-of-9 3-pointers and 5-of-5 free throws on his way to a season-high 38 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal in 46 minutes of Tuesday's 118-112 loss to the Sixers.

Butler hit back-to-back 3-pointers inside the final 47 seconds that helped send the game to overtime, but couldn't connect on a 20-footer at the buzzer that would have won the game for the Wolves. After a famously slow start to the season, Butler is cooking, scoring at least 30 in three of his last five, and averaging 28.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.8 3-pointers on 51 percent shooting over his last five. Hopefully you didn't get rid of him when he was struggling, or maybe you were able to buy low on him before the explosion. Either way, he looks rejuvenated.
Dec 13 - 1:11 AM

Willie Cauley-Stein returned from a three-game absence due to a sore back and hit 5-of-12 shots and 3-of-7 free throws for 13 points, six rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes of Tuesday's win over the Suns.

If WCS was dropped in your league and you need a big man, you might want to head to your league's site and pick him up right now. He was starting to come on before the injury and he looked good tonight, despite picking up four fouls.
Dec 13 - 12:50 AM

Yogi Ferrell started in place of Dennis Smith Jr. (hip) and had 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and two 3-pointers on 7-of-14 shooting in 35 minutes on Tuesday.

He had 10 points, four rebounds and seven assists on Sunday and should continue to be a DFS asset as long as DSJ is out. Smith has already been ruled out for Thursday at Golden State and Saturday at San Antonio, making Ferrell an interesting play in both of those games.
Dec 12 - 11:36 PM

Kawhi Leonard (quad) finally made his season debut on Tuesday and had 13 points, six rebounds, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer on 6-of-12 shooting despite playing just 16 minutes.

It's been a long time coming for his owners and while Leonard's minutes and even games played (back-to-backs) are going to be shaky for a bit, he looked very good in his limited run. Get him in your lineups and watch for news on him daily, as it's probably going to be a bumpy ride for a few weeks. Welcome back, Kawhi!
Dec 12 - 11:15 PM

Kristaps Porzingis torched the Lakers for 37 points, 11 rebounds, a steal, five blocks and five 3-pointers on 14-of-26 shooting in 40 minutes of Tuesday's 113-109 win over the Lakers.

While this wasn't a season high in scoring for the Unicorn, it was arguably the best game of his young career, as very few players have ever had 37 points, 11 boards, five triples and five blocks in one game. He scored 30 in his previous outing and the Knicks have won 14 games, and sit in the No. 8 spot in the Eastern Playoffs. They have more wins than the Thunder, Clippers, Grizzlies and Heat, but the Knicks probably aren't good enough to get Porzingis involved in serious MVP discussions just yet.
Dec 12 - 11:01 PM

Lonzo Ball hit 6-of-13 shots and 3-of-6 3-pointers for 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block in Tuesday's 113-109 loss to the Knicks in his debut at Madison Square Garden.

Much like teammate Brandon Ingram, Ball's numbers look a heck of a lot better if you ignore the shooting percentages and 3-pointers, although it's not surprising that he had one of his better offensive games on a night when his 3-pointers were falling. He's only had two better offensive performances this season and maybe seeing some 3-pointers go down will get help to get him going on a hot streak. And the last Laker rookie to post those type of numbers in his first game at Madison Square Garden was Magic Johnson, who had a triple-double.
Dec 12 - 10:49 PM

Tobias Harris scored just two points on 0-of-7 shooting in Tuesday's blowout loss to Denver, adding eight rebounds, one assist and one steal.

After the game, coach Stan Van Gundy called out Harris, Andre Drummond, Reggie Jackson and Avery Bradley after Detroit's seventh straight loss. "In my opinion, these are our four best players. They have to play better," SVG said. "If you want the money, want the credit when things go well, you have to have some accountability." SVG added that this loss was an "embarrassment, so fantasy owners should be on the lookout for any potential lineup changes. Harris was averaging 18.0 points in 35.2 minutes in his previous six games, so he should bounce back from this dud on Thursday vs. the Hawks.
Dec 12 - 10:37 PM

LeBron James torched the Hawks for 25 points and tied his career high with 17 assists as the Cavaliers trounced the Hawks 123-114 on Tuesday.

The game wasn't nearly as close as the final score indicates and James had his way with Atlanta, although several Hawks had pretty big nights too. LeBron hit 11-of-13 shots, two 3-pointers, and added seven rebounds and two steals to his ridiculous stat line. James Harden made a strong move in the MVP race on Monday night, but LeBron may have countered it tonight.
Dec 12 - 10:21 PM

Trey Lyles stayed hot on Tuesday vs. the Pistons with 20 points on a perfect 7-of-7 shooting.

He also added four boards and three triples in 27 minutes. Lyles scored 10 of his points in garbage time, so take this line with a grain of salt. He was likely on a lot of watch lists tonight after scoring a career-high 25 points on Sunday with five triples, and while he's not quite on the radar in 12-team leagues, he's worth a look in deeper formats at least until Nikola Jokic (ankle) returns. He'll have a tough matchup against Boston on Wednesday.
