Brandon Knight was the lone bright spot and was almost able to help the Bucks pull off the upset against the Pacers on Saturday, scoring 30 points with five boards, eight assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers.

He was outstanding and shot 12-of-23 from the field and shockingly did not turn the ball over. Knight looked like an All-Star tonight against the league's best defense and did his work by creating a lot of space for good shots. He entered tonight with a cut on his heel and it didn't limit him based on his 39 minutes of play. Knight may be the only must-start player on the Bucks.

A DeMarcus Cousins trade remains on the table, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Per the Bee, Cousins' issues with Coach George Karl "have not been resolved." It would be stunning to see the Kings turn around and move Cousins after being this active on the free agent market, but nothing would surprise anyone at this point when it comes to what happens with the Kings. The Lakers remain at the forefront of the line for Cousins' services.

Mark Cuban said that the Mavericks view DeAndre Jordan as the "future of the franchise."

Those are some awfully strong words from Cuban after Dallas poached Jordan away from the Clippers, but the owner is in part known for his bold statements. Jordan will have to prove capable of doing more on offense, including improvement at the free throw line, but DJ is poised for a larger role and should wind up being a monster fantasy contributor for the 2015-16 season.
Jul 6 - 9:05 AM

Unrestricted free agent Cory Joseph has agreed to a four-year, $30 million deal with the Raptors, with the fourth year a player option.

The Spurs were forced to withdraw their qualifying offer for Joseph on Sunday due to salary-cap limitations, and it didn't take long for Toronto to swoop in with a massive offer for the native Canadian. He'll immediately assume backup-PG duties in Toronto now that Greivis Vasquez is gone, especially since Luke Ridnour isn't likely to remain with the Raptors. Despite his considerable salary, however, CoJo remains an unlikely source of fantasy value while Kyle Lowry is healthy.
Jul 5 - 10:20 PM

Reggie Jackson and the Pistons have agreed to a five-year, $80 million extension.

A report in late June suggested that the Pistons were "not 100 percent sold on Reggie," but that was refuted by this deal with an average annual salary of $16 million. Brandon Jennings' future in Detroit is more tenuous than ever with Jackson locked up long-term, and a trade would be the best outcome for both of them from a fantasy perspective -- they could play together for stretches, but it's hard to envision a Jennings/Jackson backcourt succeeding long term.
Jul 5 - 9:55 PM

Brandon Bass has reportedly agreed to sign with the Lakers.

Ed Davis is gone and both Carlos Boozer and Jordan Hill are unrestricted free agents, so L.A. did well to reliable a capable veteran to support Julius Randle at power forward -- Bass has missed one game over the past three seasons. Terms of the deal are unclear, but Eric Pincus reports that L.A. can only offer $2.8 million unless they clear cap space with other moves.
Jul 5 - 7:41 PM

Tyler Johnson converted a lob at the buzzer to win Sunday's game for the Heat, finishing with 12 points, one 3-pointer, four rebounds and four assists in 25 minutes.

The second-year guard flashed his athleticism on the final play, which lifted Miami to 2-0 in the Orlando Summer League. No matter how much progress Johnson makes this summer he's not going to have fantasy value now that Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade have re-signed with Miami.
Jul 5 - 7:34 PM

The Mavericks have engaged the Lakers about a potential sign-and-trade deal for free agent Jeremy Lin.

It was reported on Saturday that Dallas is "firmly" in the mix for Lin, so this doesn't come as a surprise despite the Mavs' lack of cap space. Acquiring Lin would be a coup for the Mavs -- they hope to re-sign J.J. Barea in free agency, but at the moment Devin Harris and Raymond Felton are the only guards under contract.
Jul 5 - 6:45 PM

The Mavericks and free agent F Jeremy Evans have agreed to a two-year contract at the league minimum.

Dallas now has nine players with guaranteed or agreed-upon contracts next season, and they'll be active in the free-agent market as they continue to fill out the roster. Evans will give them some athleticism and dirty-work minutes off the bench, but he remains a fantasy non-entity while Dirk Nowitzki is healthy.
Jul 5 - 5:07 PM

Lou Williams has reportedly agreed to a three-year, $21 million deal with the Lakers.

There are no details yet about potential team/player options. The Lakers backcourt is becoming a bit crowded with Lou joining D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson and Kobe Bryant, but the 28-year-old Williams should still approach the 25.2 minutes per game he averaged last season. Until his role is clarified, owners should consider him a late-round target for 3-pointers.
Jul 5 - 4:18 PM

The Cavaliers are considering a trade for Joe Johnson with Brendan Haywood's expiring contract as a trade chip, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

Johnson is owed a whopping $24.9 million and the Cavs are sparing no expense in their pursuit of a championship this season -- we'd say they're going for broke, but owner Dan Gilbert has a $4.8 billion net worth. The Nets are eager to unload Johnson to lighten their luxury-tax payments this season, and they've spoken with multiple other teams including the Grizzlies.

Pistons rookie Stanley Johnson lit up the Clippers during Summer League action on Sunday, posting 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting with one 3-pointer, nine rebounds, one assist and three steals in 31 minutes.

He was playing at a different level vs. inferior competition and the Pistons have to be pleased with initial returns from the No. 8 overall pick. It would be surprising if Johnson wasn't starting on opening night, as his closest competition is Quincy Miller, Marcus Morris, Reggie Bullock and Cartier Martin. He'll face a typical rookie learning-curve this season but fantasy owners should be keeping a very close watch on Johnson.
