Nicolas Batum scored 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting (including two threes) with 15 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in the Blazers' 107-106 loss to the Lakers on Monday.

Batum grabbed a career-high 16 boards in the last game and it's possible the Blazers have sent him to the glass knowing that LaMarcus Aldridge (21 points, six boards, two steals) isn't at full strength. The recent surge by Batum has had him playing at a top 25-35 level over the last two weeks.

Stephen Curry scored 27 points with five rebounds, five assists, three steals and five 3-pointers during a 112-95 win over the Nets on Saturday.

With Kevin Durant (hand) out for the first time all season, Klay Thompson also scored 24 points to be the only two Warriors to hit double-digit scoring in this win. The Warriors became the first team this season to clinch a playoff spot and sit at 49-9 on the year. Curry also had a four-point play for two straight games to get him to five of those on the season. He had a terrible finish to his first half, but he's started hot with this gem and a 35-point Thursday. The Warriors start their five-game East Coast trip on Tuesday and will be on the road until Mar. 8 when Boston comes to the Bay Area. Curry is sitting pretty as a top-five player in fantasy this season.
Feb 26 - 1:45 AM

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 37 points with a career-high 22 rebounds in Saturday's 142-130 loss to the Rockets.

So good. KAT has been the top player in standard leagues for over a month and showed why tonight, shooting 16-of-24 from the field, 4-of-4 from the line and 1-of-2 from beyond the arc with three assists, one block and one steal. He took advantage of a Houston team that has allowed the fourth most fantasy points to centers this season, but he gets another great matchup on Monday vs. the Kings. There's no reason to sell high.
Feb 26 - 12:28 AM

Anthony Davis scored 39 points during a 96-83 loss to the Mavs on Saturday, adding 14 rebounds, one steal, two blocks and one 3-pointer.

That's two blowout losses in the two games since DeMarcus Cousins arrived. Coach Alvin Gentry has done a decent job of staggering his two bigs with the pair on the court for only 44 minutes together in the two games -- Davis has played 72 total minutes and Cousins has played 67. It seems pretty clear Boogie will be affected more than AD, who should still be a first-round guy going forward.
Feb 26 - 12:18 AM

Jimmy Butler posted his first triple-double of the season during a 117-99 win in Cleveland on Saturday, scoring 18 points with 10 rebounds, 10 assists, one steal and four 3-pointers in 39 minutes.

Sure, LeBron James (illness) did not play, but the Bulls will take it to put them on a four-game winning streak -- they are now sixth in the Eastern Conference. Butler looks to be over his troublesome heel issue from earlier this month with 40.0 minutes per game in his last four. His fantasy owners can start feeling good about him being a first-round player in standard leagues during his career year.
Feb 25 - 11:53 PM

James Harden led the Rockets to a 142-130 win over the Wolves on Friday night, scoring 24 points on 6-of-15 shooting.

He hit 7-of-10 from the line and 5-of-11 from deep, adding 10 assists, five rebounds, two steals and one block in 35 minutes. The Rockets scored a season-high 142 points in the win and attempted 58 3-pointers, three shy of their franchise record -- coach Mike D'Antoni said this week that the Rockets want to attempt 50+ 3-pointers every night. There's been some talk about the Rockets reducing Harden's workload a bit, but that doesn't really matter in an offense as potent as this. He's the top player in 8-cat leagues this season.
Feb 25 - 11:47 PM

Nikola Mirotic scored 14 points with 10 rebounds, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday.

Two good games in a row? Is this real life? Mirotic was in a serious slump heading into the break and was even a DNP-CD in the last game before the All-Star break. Plus, the Bulls said they traded Taj Gibson because they wanted to get a look at Bobby Portis. Well, maybe this is a wakeup call for Mirotic and he can keep it going. He's far from a must-add guy, but coming out hot after the break makes him worth a pickup for anyone needing treys.
Feb 25 - 11:42 PM

Kyrie Irving scored 34 points during a 117-99 loss to the Bulls on Saturday, adding nine rebounds, seven assists, one block and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

He made 13-of-25 from the field with two turnovers as a one-man band at home. Before tonight, Irving had a massive 45.5 usage rate when he's not playing next to LeBron James (illness) and Kevin Love (knee) this season, so his 43.8 usage rate in this loss is hardly a surprise. If LeBron's strep throat keeps him out on Monday, Irving will be another easy DFS target. The Cavs do have a road-road back-to-back set on Friday and Saturday, so keep that in mind for the upcoming four-game week.
Feb 25 - 11:22 PM

Carmelo Anthony carried the Knicks during a 110-109 win over the 76ers on Saturday, scoring 37 points with six rebounds, two assists, one block and two 3-pointers.

He hit a jumper over Robert Covington with 0.3 seconds left to give the Knicks the lead for good. After the game, Melo sounded very confident and said he had just enough space to get the look he needed (video in link below). Anthony is a better shooter when he's not next to Kristaps Porzingis with better percentages in mid-range, the left corner, right corner and above the break compared to when he's not with KP. Regardless, Melo should be firing away as long as he's active.
Feb 25 - 11:07 PM

Hassan Whiteside had a field day against the Pacers on Saturday with 22 points, 17 rebounds, one steal and one block.

He now has 15 games with 20+ points and 15+ rebounds, second to only Anthony Davis (18) this season. Whiteside finished 6-of-12 from the field and 10-of-13 from the line, bumping his free throw percentage up to 57.8 percent on the season. That's the only thing holding him back in standard leagues, but he's still returning third-round value. His owners should just be relieved that the shut-down risk has gone way done with the Heat winning 16 out of their last 18 games.
Feb 25 - 10:54 PM

James Johnson nearly triple-doubled in Saturday's 113-95 win over the Pacers with 15 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in 29 minutes.

What a way to bounce back after scoring just two points on Friday. Johnson also stuffed the stat sheet with two blocks, two steals and two triples, shooting 6-of-14 from the field and 1-of-3 from the line with five turnovers. He's arguably the waiver wire pickup of the year and could have more minutes coming his way if backup center Willie Reed misses time with his right calf strain -- Heat coach Erik Spoelstra isn't afraid to use JJ as a small-ball five.
Feb 25 - 10:46 PM

Dario Saric grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds during a 110-109 loss to the Knicks on Saturday, adding 19 points, five assists and one 3-pointer in a career-high 40 minutes.

That's four consecutive double-doubles and the seventh straight game with at least 18 points. Saric doesn't have a backup and the 76ers continue to run offense through him. Amazingly, he's still be efficient lately despite making just 5-of-29 (17.2 percent) from deep in his last five games to get him to 47.7 percent from the field overall. The Homie Dario looks like a league-winning type of asset going forward.
