Matt Barnes hit 7-of-13 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals in Thursday's 142-94 win over the Lakers.

Had the game not been over after the first quarter, Barnes may have had a truly magical night. As it was, he hooked his owners up with a huge night and is simply rolling right now. Make sure he's on your roster and in your lineup if possible, as he's showing no signs of slowing down. He had 28 points and a full stat line on Tuesday, and has been playing at a high level for weeks.

The Spurs and Kawhi Leonard have ended talks about a contract extension, making Leonard will be a restricted free agent next summer.

Kawhi and his agent, Brian Elfus, want a max extension and the Spurs have no leverage here. He's easily one of the best players in the NBA under 24 and is coming off a Finals MVP. Last season, Leonard made 69 percent of his shots at the rim to go with ranking in the top 10 for field goal percentage on pull-up jumpers (minimum average of 2.5 attempts at least 30 games). He'll make his debut tonight in a contract season, so get the fantasy stud in your lineup.
Oct 31 - 2:23 PM

Brook Lopez is still experiencing pain in his right foot, and will not play in Saturday's game vs. Detroit.

There is currently no timetable set for Lopez' return, and this isn't a great start to his 2014-15 campaign. Mason Plumlee will continue to start in Brook's place, and he'll look to bounce-back after foul trouble limited him to just four points and four rebounds in his season debut.
Oct 31 - 1:27 PM

Josh McRoberts (toe surgery) was a full participant during Friday's practice.

McBob is getting very close to making his regular-season debut with the Heat, and we'll be monitoring his status closely. The Heat play the 76ers on Saturday, so we'll list him as questionable for that one. His ability to offer 3-point shooting and assists with minimal turnovers from the power forward position make him a viable asset in standard leagues.
Oct 31 - 12:47 PM

David West (ankle) will not play on Friday against the Grizzlies after missing morning shootaround.

He is expected to miss three games and will be re-evaluated after the game on Nov. 1. With West out, it'll be Luis Scola as the starter and while Chris Copeland and Lavoy Allen also get some big-man minutes next to Roy Hibbert. Scola is more of a spot-start guy with a low ceiling in a sub-par matchup.
Oct 31 - 12:23 PM

Jimmy Butler (thumb) participated during Friday morning's shootaround, but remains a game-time decision.

The Bulls could use their defensive stalwart for what will likely be a tough matchup vs. the Cavs, and we'll be monitoring his status closely. Check back for another update as we draw closer to tip-off, but if Butler is to sit this one out, Kirk Hinrich will draw the start and he makes for an alright plug-and-play option in daily leagues.
Oct 31 - 12:11 PM

Russell Westbrook suffered a fracture to the second metacarpal in his right hand, and the Thunder say they will release a timetable for his return after getting a better look at it on Friday.

The Oklahoman is speculating that Westbrook could be sidelined for 4-6 weeks, but we'll wait for an official update from the Thunder organization. OKC is going to really struggle to find offense with only eight healthy bodies available, but everything is likely going to be going through Serge Ibaka and Perry Jones. Sebastian Telfair is currently the only healthy point guard on the roster, so he's going to be seeing a lot of minutes and makes sense as a speculative add in deeper leagues, although the Thunder are probably searching for an additional backup guard to join the team (Will Bynum?) Reggie Jackson (ankle) is going to have a lot on his plate upon his return, and he is going to get all the minutes he can handle.

Oct 31 - 9:16 AM

Chris Paul scored 22 points during a close 93-90 win over the Thunder, scoring 22 points with four rebounds, seven assists, three steals, one block, one 3-pointer and no turnovers.

The Clippers did not look good on offense at all. They led the NBA in offensive efficiency rating, but put up a 39/23/72 percent shooting line from the field, beyond the arc and at the line, respectively. As for Paul, he's probably going to be the best point guard in fantasy hoops as long as he's on the court.
Oct 31 - 2:58 AM

Blake Griffin fouled out in 38 minutes against the Thunder on Thursday, scoring 23 points with seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and three turnovers.

He shot 8-of-18 from the field and 7-of-10 from the line tonight. Griffin is creating his shot a lot more these days, which should give him a higher usage and possibly lower efficiency. Regardless, he's going to be an elite guy even if his foul shooting doesn't continue to trend up.
Oct 31 - 2:56 AM

Russell Westbrook suffered a small fracture in his right hand, according to coach Scott Brooks.

This is getting ridiculous for OKC. Westbrook is likely going to miss 4-8 weeks based on most hand fractures, but the team will likely provide a prognosis in the next couple days. The team is likely going to get on the horn to bring in a free agent point guard or even look at the trade market. Sebastian Telfair will start until the return of Reggie Jackson (ankle), who is going to be a fantasy monster. Perry Jones should also be owned in most leagues.
Oct 31 - 1:44 AM

Perry Jones scored a career-high 32 points against the Clippers on Thursday with seven rebounds, three 3-pointers, three assists and one block in 42 minutes.

It sounds like Russell Westbrook (hand) is going to miss some time and Jones is clearly the best offensive option. He is definitely going to have some bad games mixed in, but he can add some defensive stats and should fill up the box score. Go get him.
Oct 31 - 1:30 AM

Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points in a surprising 95-90 win over the Cavs on Thursday, adding two rebounds, six assists and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

He looked awful with just 14 points on Wednesday, but he was aggressive with a nice presence in the post tonight. Anthony only has 30 shots in his two games so far, which is down from his league-high 21.3 from last season. He hasn't been in isolation as much, but he's still going to be among the league leaders in scoring. Anthony is a top-10 fantasy asset.
