Latest Headlines

Rajon Rondo hit just 4-of-15 shots for eight points, eight assists and two steals in Tuesday's loss to the Pacers, and is not expected to play on Wednesday against the Knicks.

He played 41 minutes tonight and the Celtics have already said he's still not ready to play in back-to-back games. And with the high minutes, the playoffs out of reach and a struggling Knicks as an opponent, there's almost no chance Rondo will play on Wednesday. Look for Flip Pressey to get the start.
Mar 11 - 9:50 PM

Tim Duncan scored 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting with six rebounds, five assists, one block, and two turnovers during the Spurs' loss to the Thunder.

Duncan briefly left the game during the closing minutes of the fourth quarter with what looked to be a leg injury, but quickly returned and ended up closing out the game. We'll keep an eye out for any injury news, and although it seems minor, the Spurs are amid a back-to-back set, so he could be rested tomorrow. Duncan posted a plus/minus rating of minus-34 in this one, which is the worst plus/minus rating of his career (post-season or regular-season).
Dec 25 - 6:58 PM

Head coach Byron Scott said that Kobe Bryant is dealing with some "overall soreness," and he will not suit up for the Lakers' Christmas Day game vs. the Bulls, while Kobe says there's only a "slim" chance he'll play on Friday.

Bryant was listed as probable for this one, so it is surprising to see Scott suddenly pull the plug. Expect Wayne Ellington, Wes Johnson, Nick Young, and Carlos Boozer to see some increased opportunity on offense, with Young offering the most upside. The Lakers play Dallas on Friday, and we'll consider Kobe questionable for that one. Stay tuned.
Dec 25 - 6:40 PM

Tony Parker did not look good during his 27 minutes of action on Christmas, scoring just 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting, to go with five assists, three rebounds, and one steal.

Parker scored 26 points during his last outing against the Clippers, so owners will just have to chalk this one up as an off-night for the Spurs' starting PG. Parker was outplayed by his backup Cory Joseph who went for 14 points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals over 29 minutes of action, but that's not a trend that's likely to continue. Look for Parker to bounce-back Friday vs. the Pelicans.
Dec 25 - 6:38 PM

Kirk Hinrich (hamstring) will not suit up for the Bulls' Christmas Day game vs. the Lakers.

With Hinrich unavailable, Aaron Brooks will see some increased minutes off the bench in what will be a favorable matchup vs. the Lakers. Brooks has scored in double figures in his past four outings and looks like a quality plug-and-play option in daily leagues.
Dec 25 - 6:21 PM

Serge Ibaka put up 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting, with nine rebounds, three 3-pointers, two assists, two turnovers, and one block during the Thunder's Christmas Day win over the Spurs.

Ibaka had a slow start to the year, but his shot-blocking has been consistent (second in the league with 2.4 per game), and the career-high 1.3 three-pointers per game has been a nice surprise. He should only get better as the year goes on, so it would be wise to send out a few buy-low offers before he really starts rolling.
Dec 25 - 5:45 PM

Steven Adams double-doubled against the Spurs on Christmas, scoring 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting (6-of-12 from the charity stripe), to go with 15 rebounds, three blocks, two steals, two turnovers, and one assist.

Adams had a plus/minus rating of plus-27 in this one, and his aggressiveness on the boards was a big reason OKC came out with a win. If you can live with horrific free throw shooting, he's worth a look as a shot-blocking and rebounding specialist in deeper leagues.
Dec 25 - 5:30 PM

Russell Westbrook looked dominant during the Thunder's Christmas Day win over the Spurs, scoring 34 points on 14-of-28 shooting (6-of-8 from the line) to go with 11 assists, five rebounds, a season-high five steals, and four turnovers.

Westbrook was aggressive all game long, and he has definitely entered the conversation as an MVP candidate with averages of 28.2 points, 7.1 assists, 5.8 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 three-pointer per game. His 3.8 turnovers per game are unfortunate, but given the elite value he bumps into all the surrounding categories, it's easy to forgive the miscues.
Dec 25 - 5:20 PM

Shawn Marion will start at power forward for Cleveland's Christmas Day game vs. Miami, with Kevin Love shifting over to the center spot.

It's surprising that Marion, and not Tristan Thompson, will be starting tonight with Anderson Varejao (Achillies) done for the season. We'll be monitoring the Cavs' rotations closely over the coming weeks, but despite the fact that Thompson is not starting, he should still be owned in all leagues.
Dec 25 - 5:05 PM

Carmelo Anthony logged a season-high 42.5 minutes during the Knicks' Christmas Day loss to the Wizards, putting up 34 points (13-of-28 shooting), three rebounds, two assists, and three turnovers.

Melo has been logging heavy minutes over the past three games, however, that has not resulted in a win for New York. The Knicks have lost 16 of their past 17 games, and Anthony has admitted that his knee is still bothering him. Questions about Melo potentially shutting things down aren't going away anytime soon, so owners should seriously consider trying to sell-high while he's still in uniform.
Dec 25 - 4:47 PM

Tim Hardaway Jr. had a rough game on Christmas, shooting 3-of-10 from the field for eight points, three rebounds, two assists, one 3-pointer, one steal, one block, and one turnover.

Hardaway Jr. has plenty of opportunity with both Iman Shumpert (shoulder) and J.R. Smith (foot) sidelined, but he's now had two bad outings in a row. He still played 30 minutes, so owners should try and remain patient here. If he struggles again vs. the Kings on Saturday, there will be some cause for concern.
Dec 25 - 4:36 PM

Zach Randolph (knee) did not practice on Thursday, and remains questionable for Friday's game vs. Houston.

If Randolph is forced to sit on Friday, his minutes will be split up between Jon Leuer and Kosta Koufos, and if Leuer draws the start he'll be a decent play in daily leagues. Koufos can be viewed as a shot-blocking specialist in deeper leagues.
