Nicolas Batum grabbed 14 boards against the Wizards on Thursday to go with 12 points, five assists and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

His rebounding has been tremendous with LaMarcus Aldridge (back) this season. In fact, when Aldridge is off the court, Batum has a defensive rebounding rate of 23.8 percent which is much better than his 16.3 percent with LMA. The Frenchman became the first Blazer since Clyde Drexler to have four straight games of at least nine rebounds and five assists. He's having a terrific finish to this season and is paying some serious dividends to his patient owners.

Damian Lillard torched the Bulls for his best game of the season during Friday's 105-87 win, making 7-of-9 from the field for 21 points with six rebounds, nine assists, one steal and four 3-pointers in just 26 minutes.

That's good for a 100.0 effective field goal percentage. Lillard is playing some of the best ball of his life in his last five with a true shooting percentage of 73.6, a usage of 28.8 and an offensive efficiency rating of 117.9. Those advanced stats translate to averages of 25.8 points, 4.8 boards, 8.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 4.0 triples. He's been a top-three player over the past two weeks in standard leagues.
Nov 22 - 2:33 AM

Nikola Mirotic stepped up with Taj Gibson (ankle) getting hurt against the Blazers on Friday, scoring a career-high 24 points with 11 rebounds, two assists and four 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

Pau Gasol (calf) did not play tonight and X-rays were negative on Gibson's ankle, so he is not a lock for minutes. That said, Mirotic is capable of blocking shots, hitting treys and turning in good percentages, so it's not a bad idea to add him speculatively in some leagues. To be clear, we wouldn't cut a player you're going to miss.
Nov 22 - 2:10 AM

Coach Tom Thibodeau downplayed the ankle injury suffered by Taj Gibson on Friday night against the Blazers, saying he didn't think it was serious despite Gibson leaving the arena on crutches and in a walking boot.

X-rays taken were negative but there is a different vibe coming from writers that think he may need at least a little time to get his ankle right. Owners speculating on Nikola Mirotic (24 points, 11 rebounds, four threes) may want to tap the breaks here, but the running joke is that Thibs doesn't think any injury is serious. With Pau Gasol set to come back sooner rather than later it would appear, Mirotic is more of a flier than anything in 12-14 team formats. In daily formats owners could be able to squeeze a few good games out of him.

Coach Tom Thibodeau downplayed the ankle injury suffered by Taj Gibson on Friday night against the Blazers, saying he didn't think it was serious.

Owners speculating on Nikola Mirotic (24 points, 11 rebounds, four threes) may want to tap the breaks here, but then again the running joke is that Thibs doesn't think any injury is serious. All kidding aside, with Pau Gasol set to come back sooner rather than later it would appear, Mirotic is more of a flier than anything in 12-14 team formats. In daily formats owners could be able to squeeze a few good games out of him.
Nov 22 - 1:25 AM

John Wall had his way with Kyrie Irving in a 91-78 win on Friday, scoring 28 points with six rebounds, seven assists, four steals and one 3-pointer.

He made 12-of-20 from the field and bounced back nicely from a three-game streak of failing to shoot over 37 percent. Wall's dimes are hold steady at around nine, his steals are up and his scoring is right where it needs to be at 19 per game. He's one of the best point guards in the NBA at age 24.
Nov 22 - 1:04 AM

Bradley Beal played 32 minutes off the bench against the Cavs on Friday, scoring 12 points with five rebounds, five assists, three steals and two 3-pointers.

He looked great tonight and it would be a shock for him not to start against the Bucks on Saturday. Beal was outstanding last season with the Wizards and could improved in his third year. He just needs to stay healthy.
Nov 22 - 12:59 AM

LeBron James scored 22 points in a loss to the 91-78 loss to the Wizards on Friday to go with four rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and two 3-pointers in 39 minutes.

The Cavs are 5-6 and LeBron is below .500 after playing in at least 10 games since the 2007-08 season. The Cavs also had a 76ers-like 82.0 offensive efficiency rating tonight. While everyone is going to overreact, LeBron has been a top-10 player in fantasy leagues despite not even being close to as great as he was last season.
Nov 22 - 12:46 AM

Taj Gibson hit the ground after hurting his left ankle in Friday's game and did not return.

He was helped off the floor by teammates and he is already on crutches, and it's the same ankle he hurt against the Cavs. Nikola Mirotic has looked pretty good with Pau Gasol out and he'll clearly take a backseat to Gasol and Joakim Noah, but in that injury prone crew he'll also be well-positioned if the injury bug strikes. We don't have a timetable on Gibson since the injury just occurred, but Mirotic is worth a look as a speculative add for any low-upside or risky player on your roster.
Nov 22 - 12:07 AM

Danny Green filled the stat sheet against the Wolves on Friday with 18 points, three rebounds, three assists, one steal, four blocks and four 3-pointer during a 121-92 win.

He made 6-of-9 from the field and both free throws for one of the biggest stat lines of the night. Fantasy owners tend to focus on points too much, but Green has put up top-60 value on the season. He's worth owning in all standard formats.
Nov 22 - 12:04 AM

Tony Parker made all three attempts from 3-point range and 12-of-18 overall for 28 points against the Wolves on Friday with five assists and one turnover in just 25 minutes.

Amazingly, he is now making 68.4 percent from beyond the arc this season, which is more than double his career 32.0 percent from that range. Parker is going to have to handle a lot of minutes with Cory Joseph (ankle) at less than 100 percent, so he is actually a solid daily fantasy play against the Nets on Saturday.
Nov 21 - 11:55 PM

Marc Gasol tied a career-high with 32 points in the Grizzlies' easy 117-100 win over the Celtics on Friday, hitting 13-of-22 shots (6-of-6 FTs) with eight rebounds, two assists and one block.

Gasol looks like he has lost some weight and he's ripping off solid top 15-20 value so far this year, averaging 19.1 points with 7.8 boards and a combined 2.8 steals and blocks per game. Zach Randolph went for 16 and 16 with four assists, and Mike Conley scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting with three treys, four rebounds and eight assists.
