Latest Headlines

Dwyane Wade (hamstring), Mario Chalmers (quad), Greg Oden (back) and Ray Allen (illness) will not play vs. the Bucks on Saturday.

It's no surprise to see Wade out of the lineup yet again and this will be his second consecutive game with a DNP. Wade has been out four of his last five games and the Heat will likely rest him plenty more. He should be considered questionable for Monday and he's not a must-own player right now. Look for Toney Douglas and Norris Cole to benefit the most tonight.

Derrick Favors (back) went through shootaround on Wednesday, and he is probable to play vs. the Nuggets.

Apr 1 - 1:26 PM

Zach Randolph (elbow) was unable to practice on Wednesday, but he still expects to be fine for Friday's game vs. the Thunder.

Randolph doesn't appear to be in any danger of missing Friday's game, and the Grizzlies are probably holding him out of practice as a precaution. We will pass along any additional further information, but with two more full days of rest, Randolph can be penciled into all lineups.
Apr 1 - 1:22 PM

J.J. Hickson is battling knee soreness and he is questionable to play vs. the Jazz on Wednesday.

The Nuggets haven't played since Saturday, so it's a little concerning that he is having trouble with his knee. Hickson actually started last game due to the absence of Danilo Gallinari (rest), but the Nuggets have nothing but ping pong balls to play for so they will likely err on the side of caution. If Hickson sits, Jusuf Nurkic may rejoin the starting lineup and could see major minutes if he can avoid foul trouble. Expect another update closer to tip-off.
Apr 1 - 1:15 PM

Kevin Martin (hamstring) might be able to play on Wednesday vs. the Raptors, but he should definitely be ready to play on Friday vs. the Magic.

Martin is going to see how his hamstring feels after his afternoon nap, but he certainly didn't sound confident that he would play. The Wolves' injury report is just ridiculous right now, and Martin's owners should have a backup plan ready. if he does indeed sit on Wednesday, Lorenzo Brown and Chase Budinger will continue to see major minutes.
Apr 1 - 1:11 PM

Kyle Lowy (back) will not play vs. the Wolves on Wednesday, and he is considered doubtful to play vs. the Nets on Friday.

Lowry has already said that he won't rush back from injury, so it's safe to drop him in most leagues. Greivis Vasquez will continue to draw the start and is worth a look if you need help in assists and 3-pointers, while DeMar DeRozan and Lou Williams will continue to receive a boost in value with Lowry on the shelf.
Apr 1 - 12:34 PM

Jerami Grant (illness) will return from a one-game absence on Wednesday vs. the Wizards, and he will rejoin the starting lineup which will shift Robert Covington to the bench.

Grant has averaged just 4.3 points, 3.0 boards, 1.0 assist and 1.3 blocks in his last four appearances, so there is not a lot to get excited about here. As for Covington, Jason Richardson (knee) is still sidelined, so he should be able to get plenty of run off the bench and is still worth owning in most leagues for his elite 3-point shooting.
Apr 1 - 12:20 PM

Dwight Howard (knee) is still undecided on whether to play on Wednesday vs. the Kings or Thursday vs. the Mavericks.

Howard isn't cleared to play in back-to-back sets, so at least his owners expected this news. Howard is still expected to be on a minutes restriction when he does suit up, so owners in daily leagues would be wise to avoid him. If Howard decides to sit out on Wednesday, Josh Smith will play all the minutes he can handle while Terrence Jones (ribs, lung) could be forced to play more as well. Joey Dorsey also plays more when Howard sits, but he isn't a viable option in most leagues. Check back for another update prior to tip-off.
Apr 1 - 12:10 PM

Terrence Jones (ribs, lung) will play vs. the Kings on Wednesday, though he isn't sure how many minutes.

Jones made it through shootaround just fine and was in good spirits, so it looks like he is in the clear. Donatas Motiejunas (back) is on the sidelines and Dwight Howard (knee) is still on a minutes restriction and won't play in back-to-back sets, so there is a good chance that Jones could get some serious action down the stretch. If he is cleared to play, owners in most leagues will probably want to keep him on their bench until we know how many minutes he will get. Still, Jones has loads of upside and is worth a flier in most leagues.
Apr 1 - 12:03 PM

Derrick Rose will not play vs. the Bucks, but his knee has responded well after two straight days of contact.

Rose participated in some five-on-five scrimmages on Tuesday, and head coach Tom Thibodeau was optimistic about what he saw. Rose remains without a timetable to return, but it is still widely believed that he plays before the end of the regular season which means owners of Aaron Brooks will want to be on alert. If you like taking risks, Rose is worth a look in case he returns for the final stretch, but his owners should keep their expectations in check.
Apr 1 - 11:59 AM

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) and Cody Zeller (shoulder) will not play vs. the Pistons on Wednesday.

MKG will likely be out for another week, so there are no surprises here. At this point in the season, MKG can be dropped in most leagues and the Hornets won't be in a rush to bring him back if they continue to fall out of the hunt for a playoff berth. Jeff Taylor will likely draw another start, but he is only worth a look in deeper leagues.
Apr 1 - 11:50 AM

Hassan Whiteside said that his hand won't be 100 percent until he gets his 10 stitches removed in two weeks, but he will continue to play through the ailment.

The bandage that he is wearing pretty much only lets him use three fingers on his right hand, but Whiteside is just glad that he will be completely healthy for the postseason. "It’s an awkward injury," Whiteside said. "It’s a terrible place to have stitches. There’s really nothing I can do about it." Whiteside was still able to contribute 10 points, six boards, two steals and two blocks against the Spurs on Tuesday, and he is fully expected to play vs. the Cavaliers on Thursday. Keep him locked into all lineups, but as with all Heat players, keep a close eye on the injury report.
