Nikola Vucevic (Achilles) will not play vs. the Timberwolves on Saturday, according to coach Jacque Vaughn.

Vuc ruled himself out on Friday after feeling sore during pre-game warmups, and the Magic will undoubtedly play it safe with their prized big man this late in the season. His absence will shift Dewayne Dedmon into the starting lineup at C with Kyle O'Quinn staying at PF. The Wolves' big men are also sure to benefit from Vucevic's absence.
Apr 5 - 5:32 PM

Brook Lopez (back) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Detroit Pistons.

The fact that he was ruled out so quick is a little worrying, but Lopez has been doing some conditioning work and even did some light basketball activities on Saturday. Lopez is expected to be evaluated on a daily basis so we should know more soon, while Mason Plumlee will continue to be a must-start player until he returns.
Dec 20 - 1:53 PM

Deron Williams was diagnosed with a low-grade calf strain after an MRI on Saturday, and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game.

This is good news, and the Nets are optimistic that he won't miss too much time. Williams obviously didn't practice on Saturday, but he is expected to be evaluated daily. Check back before tip-off on Sunday, but don't count on him playing in this one. Jarrett Jack would be the main beneficiary if Williams sits, and is worth a look in most leagues.

Zach Randolph (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers.

This comes out of nowhere, and we just learned that he had an MRI, but luckily it came back clean. Randolph didn't practice Saturday, and there is some swelling in his right knee. He looks like he could be in serious danger of missing Sunday's game, and if he sits Jon Leuer and Kosta Koufos would pick up some extra playing time. Stay tuned.
Dec 20 - 1:36 PM

Kawhi Leonard (hand) and Tony Parker (hamstring) will not play in Saturday's game vs. Dallas as expected.

Leonard is said to be targeting a return on Monday, while Parker is still without a timetable. Kyle Anderson will likely continue to play big minutes in place of Leonard, while Cory Joseph will continue to run the point in Parker's absence.
Dec 20 - 1:28 PM

Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili will rest on Saturday and won't play vs. Dallas.

We saw this coming from a mile away, as Duncan and Ginobili played heavy minutes in their last two triple-overtime games. Boris Diaw and Aron Baynes will pick up the slack for Duncan, while Danny Green and Marco Belinelli will see a boost in minutes due to Ginobili's absence.
Dec 20 - 1:24 PM

Jeff Teague (hamstring) is still listed as doubtful for Saturday's game vs. the Rockets.

Even if he was active, he would have gotten the Patrick Beverley treatment so owners can go ahead and bench him. Consider him day-to-day for now and expect Dennis Schroder to draw another start. Shelvin Mack will also see some extra run as well, and just scored a career-high 24 points on Wednesday. Both players are worth a look in deeper leagues for owners in need of short-term value.
Dec 20 - 12:55 PM

Lance Stephenson (hip) is highly doubtful for Saturday's game vs. the Jazz.

He sat out on Friday against the 76ers, and there is almost no shot that he will play vs. the Jazz. Gerald Henderson will likely draw another start, while Gary Neal will also see a boost off of the bench. Stephenson has upside, but unless he is traded to a more favorable situation he will be really tough to own in standard leagues.
Dec 20 - 12:49 PM

Dwight Howard (shoulder) is probable for Saturday's game against the Hawks.

This is the first we are hearing about a shoulder injury, and it will be interesting to see if it has an impact on his game Saturday. Owners can at least take comfort in the fact that Howard's knee appears to be doing well, but this shoulder injury should cause some concern. Owners may want to check back before tip-off just to be safe, but Howard shouldn't be in danger of missing this one.
Dec 20 - 11:54 AM

Tyreke Evans (knee) said that he will try to give it a go on Saturday vs. Portland.

"It’s been swelling up pretty bad after some games, but it really kind of got me on the road," Evans said. "I just have to keep getting ice and treatment. Just trying to take care of it and get it right." Owners will have to hope that he doesn't suffer a setback if he suits up on Saturday, as the Pelicans have three games in the next four days. Check back before tip-off, but it is looking like Evans has a real shot to play in this one.

Amare Stoudemire (rest) and J.R. Smith (heel) are out for Saturday's game against the Suns.

It is just a scheduled day of rest for Amare, and he should be good to go Sunday vs. the Raptors. On the other hand, Smith is considered doubtful against Toronto, and likely won't even travel with the team, meaning Tim Hardaway Jr. should continue to stay hot. Cole Aldrich will draw the start in place of Amare, and is worth a look in deeper leagues.
Dec 20 - 11:27 AM

Carmelo Anthony (ankle) will play in Saturday's game against the Suns, and is listed in the starting lineup.

This is excellent news for his owners, and coach Derek Fisher also said that he is hoping Melo would be able to play on Sunday. Melo is obviously a must-start option when he is healthy, and should be in for a good game against the up-tempo Suns.
