With training camp opening on Tuesday, Ben Simmons (foot) said he's 100 percent and ready to go.

He also reiterated that he's not expecting any restrictions. Simmons has been playing full-contact 5-on-5 for a while and 76ers GM Bryan Colangelo said last week that he's been "dominating the gym." His ADP is only going to rise with all of these positive reports coming out of Philly.

Raptors coach Dwane Casey hinted that Jonas Valanciunas will keep his starting role.

His minutes have been trending in the wrong direction for the past four seasons, so his job is anything but safe. The Raptors are expected to use Serge Ibaka at center a lot this season and Jakob Poeltl and Lucas Nogueira are more than capable of pushing J-Val for minutes. However, as long as J-Val is starting and getting minutes in the mid-20s, he should be a mid-round fantasy player.

Raptors coach Dwane Casey said the starting small forward position is still up in the air.

The position battle is between C.J. Miles and Norman Powell with OG Anunoby (knee) limited early on. Powell has the higher upside, but Miles will provide some value as a 3-point specialist if he wins the starting role after hitting 2.2 triples per game in three straight seasons.

Timothe Luwawu is still dealing with knee tendinitis.

He wasn't able to play for France at Eurobasket because of this and it's a little concerning that he's not 100 percent yet. 76ers GM Bryan Colangelo added that TLC will likely have restrictions in camp. With J.J. Redick penciled in as the starting SG, TLC is looking at a minor role in Philly early on.

76ers GM Bryan Colangelo said he's not actively shopping Jahlil Okafor.

We'd expect Colangelo to say this to salvage what little trade value the former No. 3 pick has. 76ers coach Brett Brown hinted last week that he plans to showcase Okafor in the preseason and to give him every opportunity, but he has a mountain to climb to get his backup center job back from Richaun Holmes. On a side note, Okafor's knee has limited him to 3-on-3 work this offseason and he still hasn't been cleared for 5-on-5 along with Joel Embiid (knee). It's safe to expect restrictions for both in camp.
Sep 25 - 10:53 AM

The 76ers believe that Joel Embiid (knee) is "on course" for the regular season.

We still have to pump the brakes a bit here, as Embiid still isn't cleared for 5-on-5 with training camp starting up on Tuesday. 76ers GM Bryan Colangelo said Embiid is "doing well" in his rehab and expects him to participate in on-court drills during camp. If he's cleared for the regular season, it's probably safe to expect some type of restrictions early on. If you draft The Process, handcuffing him with Richaun Holmes makes a ton of sense.

According to Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal, the Grizzlies will waive Jarell Martin.

The team will give Martin the chance to stay in training camp to entice other suitors, but he won't be in Memphis for the regular season. Over two seasons, Martin has played in just 69 games with averages of 4.6 points and 3.6 rebounds on 41.9 percent shooting.

Paul George said the Thunder have "already proven everything on my check list."

"That's what makes me feel like, 'Hey, this can be a landing spot for me, and somewhere I can call home for years.'" George added that winning was above the Lakers on his list of priorities, so it certainly sounds like he's more than open to staying with the Thunder past 2018. "Winning takes precedence over all of it. That's the ultimate happiness," he said. "It's not location. It's not stardom. It's not 'where can I make the most money.' It's winning, and winning championships."

TNT reporter David Aldridge said there is a "strong belief" that the Cavaliers are still the frontrunner to sign Dwyane Wade.

Wade is also expected to talk with the Heat, Spurs and Thunder, but this should be a relatively quick process with training camps starting this week. Wade's arrival in Cleveland would take minutes away from J.R. Smith, Kyle Korver and Iman Shumpert, and he could also run some offense with Isaiah Thomas (hip) opening the season on the sidelines. He's still just a late-round pick in fantasy at this point in his career.
Sep 25 - 9:28 AM

The 76ers have signed Emeka Okafor to a training camp deal.

They also agreed to a training camp deal with Kris Humphries this week. Joel Embiid's (knee) health is still a question mark and Jahlil Okafor is on the trade block, but Emeka isn't a lock to make the final roster by any means. He's been out of the league since 2013 and recently turned 35, so he'd likely have a limited role if he sticks around past camp.

Tony Parker (left quad surgery) is targeting a return "at the end of November," nearly two months ahead of his original timetable.

"I got some good news," Parker said. "My tendon is healed ... I think I need another two months." This is very encouraging but it doesn't guarantee that he will help fantasy owners before the new year, since the Spurs will be extra cautious with their 35-year-old stalwart. "I will have to convince Pop now," Parker added. "If it were up to him, I would not play before the playoffs." In his absence, Dejounte Murray and Patty Mills should split minutes at PG.
