Wolves coach Rick Adelman announced his retirement at a press conference on Monday.

Adelman has compiled 1,042 victories during his 23-year career as an NBA head coach, which ranks No. 8 all-time. His teams made it to the Finals twice but never took home the ultimate prize, much like contemporary colleagues George Karl, Jerry Sloan and Don Nelson. The Wolves have big shoes to fill when looking for their next coach, especially since their success or failure next season could impact Kevin Love's decision as a potential free agent in 2015.

When head coach Kevin McHale was asked about Terrence Jones' availability for Wednesday's game vs. Dallas, he did not rule Jones out and said that he will return "sooner rather than later."

McHale added that Jones could return "within a week," and it appears he is getting very close to playing basketball again. However, he will be fighting for minutes with Donatas Motiejunas and Josh Smith, so it will be very difficult for him to produce the same way he was at the beginning of the season. Still, he's worth a look in deeper leagues.

With news coming out that Brandon Jennings will miss the remainder of the season with an Achilles injury, D.J. Augustin is set to become the starting point guard in Detroit.

Augustin is averaging 13.3 points, 6.3 assists, 1.3 three-pointers, and 3.3 turnovers through three games as a starter for Detroit. Make sure he's not sitting on your waiver wire, as he has now officially become a must-own player in all standard leagues.

Brandon Jennings will miss the remainder of the season with a full tear of his left Achilles.

This is a tough blow for the Pistons, and we wish Jennings a speedy recovery. Typically these types of injuries take 7-12 months for a complete recovery, and that's just talking about returning to the court. D.J. Augustin becomes a must-own guy with Jennings unavailable for the rest of the season, and Spencer Dinwiddie will also enter the rotation as the primary reserve off the bench. If Augustin is sitting on your waiver wire, go grab him now as he's averaged 13.3 points, 6.3 assists, and 1.3 three-pointers as a starter for Detroit.

Dwight Howard (ankle) did not participate during shootaround, and he is considered a game-time decision for Sunday's game vs. the Lakers.

It's worth noting that head coach Kevin McHale said he's "not real hopeful," that Dwight will play tonight, so it's sounding like he's closer to doubtful than a game-time decision. If Howard is forced to sit that Rockets could go with Joey Dorsey at the center spot, or it's possible they slide over Donatas Motiejunas to the center position and start Josh Smith at power forward. We'll have a better idea of the starting lineup closer to tip-off, but Smith and Motiejunas would likely be the primary beneficiaries.

Kevin Martin (wrist) is questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Hawks.

He wasn't able to practice on Saturday and he is reportedly still dealing with some swelling in his wrist, so he is probably closer to doubtful. Martin is still worth a stash for his upside in points and 3-pointers, but his owners will have to be patient as he will likely be eased into action when he does return. If Martin can't play, Robbie Hummel will continue to start for Minnesota, but is only an option in deeper leagues.

The Utah Jazz announced that they have signed Elijah Millsap to a multi-year deal on Sunday, but no details have been released just yet.

He was previously with the Jazz on a couple of 10-day contracts, so obviously he did enough to make his stay in Utah permanent. Millsap is currently averaging 5.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals in 20.4 minutes per game this season, but is still only worth a look in deeper leagues unless his role grows substantially.

Amir Johnson is dealing with a sore left shoulder and is considered questionable to play vs. Detroit on Sunday.

He was benched during the second half of Friday's game and this could be one of the reasons why. We will update Johnson's status when we know more but owners should have a backup plan ready. If Johnson sits, Patrick Patterson has been on fire lately and would be worth a look in most leagues while he is this hot. Stay tuned.

Hassan Whiteside will play against the Bulls on Sunday.

He did say his ankle was at 90 percent, but he has simply been too good to keep out of lineups. We will let you know how his ankle holds up after the game. Chris Andersen's value takes a big hit with this news and can be dropped in most leagues.

Amare Stoudemire suffered a sprained ankle and a sprained wrist during Saturday's game with Charlotte.

"I suffered a sprained ankle and sprained right wrist,’’ Stoudemire said. "It was a lot of physical contact out there. A lot of my moves attacking the basket, I got swiped down on it, caught my wrist almost every time. I tried to play through it but I was struggling. I couldn’t be myself out there.’’ The news just keeps getting worse for Amare, and it's already known that his knee is also a major concern moving forward. At this point it is safe to assume that Amare doesn't have a great shot to play on Monday vs. the Kings, but we will be sure to monitor his status closely. If he does end up sitting, expect to see more of Cole Aldrich, Jason Smith, Lou Amundson and Lance Thomas.
Jan 25 - 11:30 AM

Joakim Noah (ankle) will in fact play against the Miami Heat on Sunday.

You just knew he wouldn't miss the opportunity to play against the Heat and owners can comfortably pencil him into their lineups. Noah has had a underwhelming season so far but his value will only go up if he can avoid another injury. Taj Gibson's value takes a hit with this news, but he is still worth owning in most leagues.
Jan 25 - 11:19 AM

Kemba Walker is set to have an MRI on his knee and surgery is reportedly not off the table.

He has been dealing with a cyst in his left knee since high school so it's very surprising to see it flare up now. There is no indication as to when Walker will be evaluated, but we would expect another report soon. Walker's owners shouldn't panic just yet, and should wait until further details are released before doing anything drastic. Should Walker miss any time, Brian Roberts will likely step into a starting role with Lance Stephenson and Gary Neal also handling the ball more. Stay tuned.
