Wolves coach Rick Adelman announced his retirement at a press conference on Monday.

Adelman has compiled 1,042 victories during his 23-year career as an NBA head coach, which ranks No. 8 all-time. His teams made it to the Finals twice but never took home the ultimate prize, much like contemporary colleagues George Karl, Jerry Sloan and Don Nelson. The Wolves have big shoes to fill when looking for their next coach, especially since their success or failure next season could impact Kevin Love's decision as a potential free agent in 2015.

Taj Gibson (ankle) will not play against the Grizzlies on Friday.

The Bulls have the deepest frontcourt in the NBA, so there is no need to bring Taj back too soon. He is close to a return and traveled with the team, but his owners should consider him questionable to play next week. Pau Gasol went off on Thursday while Nikola Mirotic was also superb.
Dec 19 - 6:33 PM

Nicolas Batum (wrist, knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Spurs.

C.J McCollum, Dorell Wright, and Will Barton will all step up to help fill the void with Batum sidelined, but none of these guys make for a great play in standard leagues. Portland plays again Saturday against the Pelicans, and we'll be considering Batum questionable for that one. Stay tuned.
Dec 19 - 6:32 PM

Coach Gregg Popovich said he will not rest his players on Friday against the Blazers.

Wow. This is shocking considering the Spurs played a triple-overtime game on Wednesday. We can probably assume there will be a handful of rested players on Saturday, though. Of course, Pop may change his mind, so Duncan isn't a 100 percent lead-pipe lock to play.
Dec 19 - 6:28 PM

Tony Allen (right corneal abrasion) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Bulls.

Quincy Pondexter will likely draw the start, while Vince Carter will see extended minutes off the bench. Carter logged 41 minutes during his last outing with Allen sidelined, and put up 18 points with five 3-pointers, he does however have a difficult matchup against the Bulls, so Carter remains a risky option in daily leagues.
Dec 19 - 6:26 PM

Paul Pierce (sore right toe) will start Friday vs. the Heat.

Otto Porter will head back to the bench, so those that made a speculative add of Porter can go ahead and send him back to the waiver wire. Pierce has a favorable matchup tonight vs. the Heat, and he could serve as a decent low-budget plug-and-play in daily leagues.
Dec 19 - 6:14 PM

Shabazz Muhammad will start at shooting guard against the Friday against the Celtics.

He is getting the ball a ton and was the primary weapon in the second unit. Muhammad is a ball-dominant player, but he does have 64.9 of his baskets coming off an assist. The scoring makes him worth a look in standard leagues and his owners should just hope he starts adding more stats.
Dec 19 - 6:10 PM

Marcus Smart (Achilles) is active against the Wolves on Friday night.

He's had some bad luck with injuries in the past month, spraining his ankle and suffering an Achilles injury. Smart will likely be eased back into his role, but his upside in steals and treys make him a very hot commodity. He should get better from the field and isn't too bad from the line. Smart should be owned in standard leagues.
Dec 19 - 5:53 PM

Evan Turner will start at point guard against the Wolves on Friday.

Marcus Smart (Achilles) might not be at 100 percent, so there should be a lot of playing time headed Turner's way. Coach Brad Stevens has the Celtics running at the fastest pace in the league, so there is a nice opportunity for Turner in a daily league. His value in season-long formats is also intriguing, but his upside is not as high as Smart's.
Dec 19 - 5:39 PM

Kevin Durant (ankle) will not play Friday vs. the Lakers.

OKC really didn't need him for a game against one of the bottom-tier teams in the Western Conference, and Russell Westbrook will be primed for a big game tonight. Perry Jones will likely slide into the starting lineup, and he makes for a decent plug-and-play option in daily leagues. Durant will be re-evaluated on Saturday to determine his availability for Sunday's game vs. the Pelicans. Stay tuned.
Dec 19 - 5:33 PM

Gerald Henderson will start against the 76ers on Friday.

Lance Stephenson (hip) did not even travel and is expected to miss time. Henderson has not been very active with the ball while with the first unit, posting a 15.5 usage rate while he's next to Kemba Walker and Al Jefferson this season. He's only worth a look in very deep leagues.
Dec 19 - 4:24 PM

Jeff Teague (hamstring) is doubtful to play on Saturday against the Rockets.

It's clear the Hawks are not going to rush him back, which makes sense considering how many players have aggravated their hamstring strains this season -- David Lee and Patrick Beverley, for example. His fantasy owners should just bench him and expect him back next week. Dennis Schroder gets a date with Patrick Beverley while Shelvin Mack will also get some run.
