Carmelo Anthony still plans to opt out of the final year of his contract and become a free agent, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News.

Despite president Phil Jackson's pleas to opt in to the final year of his deal, Melo will likely become a free agent by July 1st. This news comes amidst reports that the Miami Heat are pursuing the possibility of adding Carmelo to their Big 3, all of whom can also opt out become free agents. If Anthony does indeed opt out of his deal, he will undoubtedly be one of the most sought after free agent this summer.

Roy Hibbert will return to the starting lineup for Friday's game vs. the Bulls, sending Ian Mahinmi back to the bench.

Hibbert was rested during Wednesday's game against the lowly Knicks, but he'll return tonight with a tough matchup against the Bulls. Go ahead and get him active.
Mar 6 - 5:51 PM

Devin Harris (right hand) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Warriors.

With Harris out and J.J. Barea (thumb) questionable, Monta Ellis and Rajon Rondo could be forced into heavy minutes with Raymond Felton serving as their primary backup. Despite the increased minutes allotment, Felton remains too risky for use in most leagues.
Mar 6 - 5:46 PM

Kyle Lowry will not have a minutes restriction on Friday night against the Hornets.

Coach Dwane Casey said Lowry's playing time will depend on how his conditioning holds up. Lowry missed three games with a mild hand issue, but it was more about how he was very unproductive in February. He can be started in all leagues tonight while Greivis Vasquez will go back to the second unit and become a less attractive play.
Mar 6 - 5:43 PM

Taj Gibson (ankle) is not traveling with the Bulls on their current road trip, and he will remain sidelined for Friday's game against the Pacers.

We'll be considering Gibson doubtful Sunday's game vs. the Spurs as well, and Nikola Mirotic remains the primary beneficiary with Gibson sidelined. Mirotic has now scored in double figures for three consecutive games, and he'll look to keep up his stellar play tonight with a tough matchup against Indiana.
Mar 6 - 5:38 PM

Mario Chalmers (knee) is a game-time decision to play against the Wizards on Friday.

Chalmers saw his playing time dip to 22 minutes on Wednesday, but they would need him with Luol Deng (thigh) unlikely to play. If Chalmers doesn't play, Tyler Johnson would likely pick up most of those minutes while Shabazz Napier would get minutes in the teens behind Goran Dragic.
Mar 6 - 5:36 PM

Luol Deng (thigh) is doubtful to play against the Wizards on Friday.

The Heat are really in trouble here. Michael Beasley will get one more chance to show what he can do before his 10-day is up, but Henry Walker is the better bet for playing time. Plus, the Heat will have to give more minutes to Udonis Haslem with the Heat having an inability to play stretch fours because they're so thin. If you're feeling saucy, Walker could hit a bunch of treys tonight. Plus, Tyler Johnson may get more minutes in three-guard lineups, too.
Mar 6 - 5:33 PM

Evan Fournier (hip) and Luke Ridnour (hamstring) will not play against the Kings on Friday.

This will be Fournier's fourth game out of the lineup. With Willie Green also out tonight, the Magic will likely have to give more minutes to Aaron Gordon and maybe even Moe Harkless. Tobias Harris and Victor Oladipo will also be around 40 minutes tonight. Fournier can be left on the wire in most leagues.
Mar 6 - 5:24 PM

Robert Covington (elbow) will play Friday vs. the Jazz.

Covington will come off the bench for this one, and he will have a difficult matchup against the Jazz, so that is something that should be considered for those playing daily leagues. There's no word on a minutes restriction, but owners of Covington looking to close the gap in the 3-point category can go ahead and get him active.
Mar 6 - 5:22 PM

O.J. Mayo (hamstring) will not play against the Wizards on Saturday.

This makes it a DNP for five of the last six games because of his hamstring issue. The Bucks tend not to be forthcoming for Mayo, so almost all of his fantasy owners should be looking to cut him and not deal with the headache. While he's out, Tyler Ennis will continue to stay in the rotation while Jerryd Bayless gets most of his minutes at shooting guard. Bayless is worth a look in 16-team leagues.
Mar 6 - 2:47 PM

Jamal Crawford (calf) and Matt Barnes (hamstring) did not practice on Friday and are not expected to play on Sunday against the Warriors.

This would be Crawford's second game out of the lineup after suffering his calf contusion on Monday. J.J. Redick logged a whopping 47 minutes in the overtime game on Wednesday and should be near 40 again vs. GSW. Austin Rivers also will see more playing time, but he's not a fantasy option in most situations. Crawford owners should stash him unless there's a red-hot add on the wire.
Mar 6 - 2:41 PM

Devin Harris (right hand) is doubtful to play against the Warriors on Friday.

He played 28 minutes in three of their last five games and Harris has become an underrated part of the Dallas rotation, especially with Chandler Parsons (ankle) out. Harris has played a big chunk of his minutes at shooting guard recently, which means the Mavericks might have to go with just a four-guard rotation of Monta Ellis, Rajon Rondo, J.J. Barea (thumb) and Raymond Felton because the forward rotation is already thin without Parsons. Barea is also up in the air and has only played next to Rondo for only 19 minutes in the last six games combined, so it's going to be interesting behind Ellis and Rondo. Felton probably gets the biggest increase in playing time from a percentage standpoint, but he's not worth using.
