The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly interested in acquiring the first pick in the 2014 NBA Draft from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Sixers reportedly would like to take Andrew Wiggins with the third pick in the first round, but the problem is that he may not be there when they pick. As such, the team has inquired about trading for the Cavs' first pick in order to ensure that they get their man. Philadelphia reportedly isn't willing to give up their third and 10th picks in exchange for the No. 1 selection, but they are reportedly willing to give up the No. 3 pick and power forward Thaddeus Young. Wiggins' addition to the 76ers would give the team a talented swingman and would allow the Big 12 freshman of the year plenty of minutes to be a productive fantasy asset.

Derrick Rose will practice with Team USA on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's exhibition game against the Dominican Republic due to fatigue.

Rose's name was listed on Team Blue, while Kyrie Irving will play on Team White alongside the other Team USA starters. Team USA will have to play nine games in 16 days at the upcoming World Cup of Basketball, so there is a chance that Rose is left off the roster if the coaching staff decides to opt for a more reliable option. The 25-year-old has as much potential as any player entering 2014-15 fantasy drafts, but owners need to be aware of the huge risk that comes along with that upside.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are unlikely to reach a deal on an extension with Reggie Jackson before the October 31 deadline, according to NewsOK.com

The Thunder would prefer to lock Jackson up now as he is set to be a restricted free agent after the 2014-15 season, the team, but that scenario is looking unlikely according to NewsOK.com's report. The 23-year-old averaged 13.1 points, 1.0 three-pointers, 3.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.1 steals during the 2013-14 season, but his fantasy value is a tad limited as long as Russell Westbrook is healthy.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said that it remains up to NBA stars to make a personal decision on whether to play for their country.

The combination of Paul George's knee injury, Kevin Durant's withdrawal from Team USA, and Mavericks owner Mark Cuban's recent comments led Silver to comment on international play. "It is a big risk without enormous financial reward," Silver said. "I'll only reiterate that ultimately it is a personal decision for these players." Silver added that he expects the topic to come up at the competition meeting and Board of Governor's meeting, but it doesn't sound like the commissioner will be pushing an anti-international play agenda.

Gordon Hayward could be the next Team USA cut, according to Chris Sheridan of SheridanHoops.com.

Hayward only scored four points to go along with two steals during Wednesday's win over the Dominican Republic and "did the least to distinguish himself", according to Sheridan. Team USA will board a plane headed to the World Cup of Basketball on Saturday and Hayward will join Andre Drummond, Damian Lillard, DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Korver, and Chandler Parsons on the roster bubble as coach Mike Krzyzewski and his staff trim the roster from 16 to 12.

Derrick Rose said he will play in Team USA's exhibition game against Puerto Rico on Friday.

Rose sat out Wednesday's exhibition against the Dominican Republican due to what he called body fatigue, but the Bulls' star said he'll be ready to go on Friday. "Just trying to protect myself, just knowing that this is a long, long schedule and this is the most basketball I'll be playing in two years," Rose said. "So I'm just going in, trying to gear up, making sure that I'm healthy." His involvement in Thursday's practice will be more telling in terms of his availability for Friday, but we'll have to take him at his word for now.

Coach Tom Thibodeau said he expects Derrick Rose (soreness) to practice on Thursday and play on Friday vs. Puerto Rico.

He went through shootaround on Wednesday, but the team held him out of action in the game. During NBATV's Wednesday broadcast, Coach Thibs did mention he may have sat Rose out because he wanted to get a look at some players, so that does make sense. If Rose does sit out of practice on Thursday, that could be a red flag. Stay tuned.

Kyrie Irving looked phenomenal vs. the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, making all five of his field goal attempts for 12 points with five assists and two 3-pointers.

He made it looked easy out there and nobody could cover him. Irving looked sharp and didn't take bad shots in the easy win. He hasn't been the most efficient point guard in the NBA, but that could change now that he'll have some help in Cleveland. We'd expect his fantasy value to take a bit of a hit along with his usage rate.

Julius Randle will "get plenty of chances to play a lot of minutes," according to coach Byron Scott.

"We know he’s a rookie and needs to develop, and a lot of that will come in training camp and in practice," Scott said. "I think he’ll do just that." The addition of Carlos Boozer casts some doubt on Randle's outlook in his rookie season, but there is still a lot to like after he looked great in Las Vegas. He's a solid late-round target in standard leagues, as long as you're able to exercise some patience.

The Suns are now discussing trade possibilities for restricted free agent Eric Bledsoe, according to Jude LaCava of FOX Phoenix.

"The Suns are now discussing trade possibilities for Eric Bledsoe," LaCava said. "That’s the new chapter to this and I wouldn’t back off of that information. I think it’s 100 percent correct." Things obviously aren't great with the Suns and Bledsoe, so it's not a surprise to hear they are looking to deal him. It doesn't look like this story will end any time soon.

DeMarcus Cousins (knee) practiced fully on Tuesday, but he said he's "50-50" to play vs. the Dominican Republic on Wednesday.

Cousins' knee is structurally healthy but Wednesday's game is a friendly exhibition, so caution may keep him on the sidelines. If he does sit out, Team USA will have lean even more on big men Anthony Davis, Andre Drummond, Mason Plumlee and Kenneth Faried.
Aug 19 - 2:42 PM

Derrick Rose sat out practice again on Tuesday as a precaution, and he may not start Wednesday's exhibition in New York.

His inactivity on Monday was reportedly a "planned light day" and he does plan to play on Wednesday, even if he doesn't start. Rose's health will be scrutinized all year and his decision to rest during consecutive practices will raise a few eyebrows, but he's healthy and has been very impressive over the past few weeks with Team USA. Check back on Wednesday for his status vs. the Dominican Republic.
